MEXC is cheaper than Binance on fees: its list fees are already lower (0.01% maker, 0.04% taker on futures), and bound through Fee Otter it rebates 60% against Binance's 40%, so the net futures taker fee is 0.016% on MEXC against 0.03% on Binance, and maker is 0.004% against 0.012%. Binance wins on depth, tokenized stocks and the BNB discount; the MEXC referral code is mexc-FEEOTTER, while Binance's is FEEOTTER (checked October 2026).
Quick verdict
- More than double what common KOL codes pay: with the code mexc-FEEOTTER, MEXC pays 60%, 3 times a typical 20% code. On 1,000 USDT of monthly fees, a common code returns 200 USDT and MEXC returns 600 USDT.
- Rebate rates: 40% on Binance and 60% on MEXC, 20 points more on MEXC.
- Listed fees: futures 0.02% / 0.05% on Binance vs 0.01% / 0.04% on MEXC; spot 0.10% / 0.10% vs 0% / 0.05%.
- Net futures cost: taker is 0.03% vs 0.016%, maker 0.012% vs 0.004%. Whatever your taker share, MEXC is cheaper, so there is no break-even point.
- BNB does not close the gap: paying Binance futures fees in BNB takes 10% off, and the net taker becomes 0.027%, still above MEXC's 0.016%.
- Existing accounts: both let you add a code within 30 days of signup. Binance also requires no deposit or trade yet; on MEXC a main account with no referrer can link one itself.

Fees verified 2026-10-18 on each exchange's official fee page; MEXC per-symbol rates rechecked on 2026-10-18 via its official public API · Data sources and method
MEXC futures fees vary by symbol. Per its official public API on 2026-10-18, of about 1,190 perpetual contracts, about 560 carry the standard 0.01% / 0.04% and about 125 charge 0% maker and 0% taker; about 490, BTC, ETH and SOL among them, are 0% maker and 0.02% taker. The table uses the standard rate, the most common one. On Binance a regular user's futures taker is 2.5 times the maker; on MEXC it is 4 times, so the more you trade with limit orders, the wider MEXC's price advantage.
The rebate is paid on the fees you actually pay, so comparing the two means comparing net rates after the rebate, not just the percentages. Latest rates are on the official pages: Binance spot fees · Binance futures fees and BNB discount · MEXC fee page.
Rebate rates: MEXC pays 20 points more
| Item (when bound through Fee Otter) | Binance | MEXC |
|---|---|---|
| Referral code | FEEOTTER (filled in by Fee Otter's link) | mexc-FEEOTTER (filled in by Fee Otter's link) |
| Layer 1 (exchange, automatic) | 20% | 20% |
| Layer 2 (Fee Otter extra) | 20% | 40% |
| Total | 40% | 60% |
| vs a common 20% code | 2× | 3× |
On both exchanges the first 20% comes back automatically from the exchange and Fee Otter settles the second layer; spot and futures rates are the same. See how fee rebates are settled, and auto vs extra rebate for how the two layers work. Accounts bound through Fee Otter are on Binance's affiliate programme, so the 12-month futures limit of Referral Pro Tier 0 does not apply. All exchanges' rates are in the rebate rate table.
In money terms: on 1,000 USDT of monthly fees, a common 20% code returns 200 USDT. Through Fee Otter, Binance returns 400 USDT and MEXC returns 600 USDT. That is 2,400 USDT a year more than a common code on Binance and 4,800 USDT more on MEXC.
Net cost after rebate: MEXC wins on both taker and maker
| How you bind | Binance net maker | Binance net taker | MEXC net maker | MEXC net taker |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| List price | 0.02% | 0.05% | 0.01% | 0.04% |
| Common 20% code | 0.016% | 0.04% | 0.008% | 0.032% |
| Through Fee Otter | 0.012% | 0.03% | 0.004% | 0.016% |
Formula: net rate = listed rate × (1 − rebate rate). For example, Binance taker: 0.05% × (1 − 40%) = 0.03%; MEXC taker: 0.04% × (1 − 60%) = 0.016%; MEXC maker: 0.01% × (1 − 60%) = 0.004%. MEXC's net futures taker is about 53% of Binance's, and its net maker is a third.
Taker share: no break-even point in this pair
Let your taker share be t. Net rate = [t × taker + (1 − t) × maker] × (1 − rebate rate). Through Fee Otter, Binance = 0.012% + 0.018% × t and MEXC = 0.004% + 0.012% × t. MEXC has both the lower starting point and the flatter slope, so it is cheaper from all-maker to all-taker, unlike MEXC vs Gate, where the answer depends on your taker share. With a common 70% taker / 30% maker mix, the blended listed rate is 0.041% on Binance and 0.031% on MEXC, or 0.0246% vs 0.0124% net.
BNB does not change this. Paying Binance futures fees in BNB takes 10% off, so taker becomes 0.045%, or 0.027% net after the rebate, still above MEXC's 0.016%. A comparison that hits closer to home: MEXC bound to a common 20% code nets 0.04% × 0.80 = 0.032% on taker, twice the 0.016% you pay through Fee Otter.
In money: one trade and one month
One trade: 2,500 USDT margin at 20× leverage
Notional = 2,500 × 20 = 50,000 USDT. Opening as taker costs 50,000 × 0.05% = 25 USDT on Binance and 50,000 × 0.04% = 20 USDT on MEXC. Through Fee Otter you net 25 × (1 − 40%) = 15 USDT on Binance and 20 × (1 − 60%) = 8 USDT on MEXC. Opening as maker, Binance charges 10 USDT (6 USDT net) and MEXC charges 5 USDT (2 USDT net).
500,000 USDT a month, all taker
| How you are bound | Binance returned | Binance net cost | MEXC returned | MEXC net cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Common 20% code | 50 USDT | 200 USDT | 40 USDT | 160 USDT |
| Through Fee Otter | 100 USDT | 150 USDT | 120 USDT | 80 USDT |
Monthly fees: Binance 500,000 × 0.05% = 250 USDT, MEXC 500,000 × 0.04% = 200 USDT. Returned = monthly fees × rebate rate; net cost = monthly fees − returned. MEXC costs 70 USDT a month less than Binance, or 840 USDT a year. MEXC charges less in fees, yet its payout of 120 USDT beats Binance's 100 USDT because the rate is 20 points higher. More combinations are worked out in effective futures fees after rebate.

BTC and ETH perpetuals: MEXC widens the gap
Everything above uses MEXC's standard rate, but per its official public API on the verification date of 2026-10-18, BTC and ETH perpetuals are both 0% maker and 0.02% taker. After the rebate, BTC and ETH taker both net 0.008%. Binance's BTC and ETH perpetuals use standard rates, 0.03% net taker, so MEXC's BTC and ETH are under 30% of that. MEXC also has about 125 contracts at 0% maker and taker; with no fee there is nothing to rebate. These are promotional rates that can change at any time, and each pair's validity period follows MEXC's announcements (see the MEXC 0-fee page). When they end, rates go back to the standard 0.01% / 0.04% and the comparison above still holds.
Spot and platform tokens: even 25% off with BNB trails MEXC
| How you bind | Binance net taker | Binance with BNB net taker | MEXC net taker |
|---|---|---|---|
| Common 20% code | 0.08% | 0.06% | 0.04% |
| Through Fee Otter | 0.06% | 0.045% | 0.02% |
Workings: Binance = 0.10% × (1 − 40%) = 0.06%. With the BNB discount the fee first drops to 0.075%, and 40% of that discounted fee comes back, for 0.045% net. MEXC = 0.05% × (1 − 60%) = 0.02%. On 100,000 USDT of monthly spot taker volume, Binance charges 100 USDT and you net 60 USDT (45 USDT with BNB); MEXC charges 50 USDT and you net 20 USDT. Spot maker on MEXC is already 0%, while Binance with BNB plus the rebate is still 0.045%. This article does not count any MX token fee discount. Some MEXC spot promotions charge 0%; this article uses the 0.05% BTC and ETH carry (most smaller pairs, about 1,100 of 1,864, charge 0.08% taker), and the order page is authoritative. More spot tactics are in fee rebates for spot investors.
Adding a code and rebinding: both have a 30-day window, with different conditions
| Item | Binance | MEXC |
|---|---|---|
| Add a code after signup | Within 30 days | Within 30 days (self-service linking) |
| Conditions | Main account, no referrer, no deposit or trade yet, KYC not used on another account in the past 180 days | Main account, no referrer yet, referrer signed up before you |
| Change referrer after binding | No | No |
| After the window | No referrer: official re-binding application; existing referrer: close the old account and transfer KYC after 35 days | Sign up again with a new email (up to 2 accounts per identity; if both are used, close one first, which takes up to 15 working days) |
Binance: a main account within 30 days of signup, with no deposit or trade yet, can add Fee Otter as referrer as described in Binance's official FAQ. On Binance, add the code before your first deposit; depositing first removes your eligibility. After the window, an account with no referrer can use the official re-binding application, which requires completed KYC, no more than 5,000 USD of trading volume in the 90 days before you submit, and 150,000 USDT of trading volume within 30 days after submitting; an account that already has a referrer can be closed, and 35 days later its KYC moves to a new account registered with referral code FEEOTTER. Steps are in the Binance rebind guide.
MEXC: within 30 days of signup, a main account with no referrer can add the code mexc-FEEOTTER through self-service linking, with no new account needed; the link cannot be changed afterwards (see MEXC's self-service referrer linking guide). After 30 days, sign up again with a new email through our link. Per the MEXC KYC FAQ, each user may verify up to two accounts; if both are used, close one first, and account closure takes up to 15 working days. Steps are in the MEXC rebind guide.
The MEXC code needs its prefix. Signing up through our link fills it in for you; details in Binance referral code and MEXC referral code. After signing up or adding the code, submit your UID on Fee Otter. It is reviewed automatically the next day at 16:00 (UTC+8) and passes if you traded the previous day. Rebates are settled daily and every entry can be checked; binding needs only your UID, never an API key or password.
