After rebates, MEXC is cheaper than OKX: bind with code mexc-FEEOTTER and MEXC pays 60% (a 20% auto-rebate from MEXC plus a 40% Fee Otter extra rebate), 3 times a typical 20% code, for a net futures taker of 0.016%. OKX, with code FEEOTTER, is a 20% auto-rebate + exclusive rewards, for a net taker of 0.04%. On 1,000 USDT of monthly fees, MEXC returns 600 USDT and OKX 200 USDT (fees and rebate rates checked October 2026). The reasons to pick OKX are liquidity, its Web3 wallet and products such as tokenized stocks, not fees.
The short version
- MEXC pays 3 times a common influencer code: 60% through Fee Otter against a typical 20%. On 1,000 USDT of monthly fees, a typical code returns 200 USDT and ours returns 600 USDT.
- MEXC's listed fees are lower across the board: futures 0.01% / 0.04% against 0.02% / 0.05% on OKX, spot 0% / 0.05% against 0.08% / 0.10%.
- Net futures cost is lower on MEXC: taker nets 0.016%. OKX at its 20% auto-rebate nets 0.04% taker and 0.016% maker.
- Spot shows the biggest gap: MEXC spot maker is 0% and spot taker nets 0.02%. OKX spot nets 0.064% maker and 0.08% taker.
- BTC and ETH perps are MEXC's home ground: on 2026-10-18, BTC and ETH perps carried a promotional 0.02% taker fee, and about 125 contracts were fee-free (MEXC can change these at any time).
- OKX's edge is its products: 147 tokenized US stock perps, heavy crude oil (CL) and MSTR volume, and its own Web3 wallet. We have not yet measured MEXC's tokenized stocks.
- Fixing an existing account differs: MEXC lets you add a code yourself within 30 days of signup, then you sign up again with a new email. OKX has no late entry. Its routes are the 180-day idle recall, the official rebind request, or closing the phone number and email and signing up again.
Listed fees: MEXC is lower in every cell
A rebate is a percentage of your fees, so start with the base. These are the listed rates for regular users (OKX Regular, MEXC VIP 0):
| Item | OKX | MEXC | Lower |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spot maker | 0.08% | 0% | MEXC |
| Spot taker | 0.10% | 0.05% (BTC, ETH) | MEXC |
| USDT-M futures maker (standard) | 0.02% | 0.01% | MEXC |
| USDT-M futures taker (standard) | 0.05% | 0.04% | MEXC |
| Platform token discount | None | None | Neither |
| Promotional low-fee contracts | None | BTC and ETH 0% / 0.02%; about 125 contracts at 0% / 0% | MEXC |
Fees verified 2026-10-18 (official fee pages); MEXC promotional rates read from MEXC's public API on 2026-10-18 · Data sources and methodology
Three things worth remembering:
- OKX's 0.08% spot maker fee is on the low side among fee-charging major exchanges, but MEXC charges nothing for spot maker orders, and its 0.05% spot taker fee is below OKX's 0.10%. Some MEXC spot pairs are fee-free under promotions; this article uses the 0.05% that BTC and ETH charge (public API, 2026-10-18: about 1,100 of 1,864 spot pairs, mostly smaller coins, charge 0% / 0.08%).
- MEXC futures fees vary by contract. On 2026-10-18, about 560 of MEXC's roughly 1,190 contracts used the standard 0.01% / 0.04%, the most common rate and the base used here; about 490, BTC and ETH among them, cost less (0% / 0.02%) and a few cost more, so check the order page before you trade.
- OKX groups its fees by trading pair. Spot pairs fall into three groups and futures into two, and rates can differ by group (see the OKX global fee framework notice). This article uses Group 1, which holds major pairs such as BTC and ETH: regular users pay 0.08% / 0.10% on spot and 0.02% / 0.05% on futures. For other pairs, check the official fee page before you trade.
A rebate refunds a share of the fees you actually pay, so on a low-fee exchange the same percentage is worth less in cash; always compare net rates after the rebate. For the latest rates, see the official pages: OKX fees · MEXC fees.
Rebate rates: MEXC 60%, OKX 20% auto-rebate + exclusive rewards
Both exchanges refund a 20% auto-rebate through the referral code; on MEXC, Fee Otter adds a 40% extra rebate on top.
| Item (when bound through Fee Otter) | OKX | MEXC |
|---|---|---|
| Referral code | FEEOTTER | mexc-FEEOTTER |
| First layer (automatic, from the exchange) | 20% | 20% |
| Second layer (Fee Otter extra rebate) | None (exclusive rewards instead) | 40% |
| Total | 20% (auto) | 60% |
| Returned on 1,000 USDT of monthly fees | 200 USDT (at 20%) | 600 USDT |
On MEXC: MEXC refunds 20% automatically through the code, and Fee Otter adds 40%, for 60% in total.
On OKX: sign up with our code and OKX refunds the first-layer 20% straight into your exchange account on a charge-then-refund basis. While the account is bound to our code, it is refunded automatically (the rate is set by the exchange and may change). For our exclusive OKX rewards and promotions, contact support. Automatic vs extra rebates explained: automatic vs extra rebates; the rate table for every exchange we support: rebate rates.
A concrete number: on 1,000 USDT of monthly MEXC fees, a common 20% code returns 200 USDT and a 25% code 250 USDT; mexc-FEEOTTER returns 600 USDT. That is 400 USDT more a month than a 20% code, or 4,800 USDT a year.

Net cost after the rebate
There is one formula: listed fee × (1 − rebate rate). OKX always uses its 20% auto-rebate; MEXC uses 60%.
Futures (USDT perpetuals, standard rates)
| Item | OKX net taker | MEXC net taker | OKX net maker | MEXC net maker |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Listed | 0.05% | 0.04% | 0.02% | 0.01% |
| After rebate | 0.05% × 0.8 = 0.04% | 0.04% × 0.4 = 0.016% | 0.02% × 0.8 = 0.016% | 0.01% × 0.4 = 0.004% |
MEXC's net futures taker is just 0.016% and net maker 0.004%. Most people do not trade only market orders. With 70% taker and 30% maker, the blended listed rate is 0.041% on OKX, netting 0.0328% after 20%; on MEXC it is 0.031%, netting 0.0124% after 60%. Whatever your taker share, MEXC has the lower net cost in this pair.
Spot
| Item | OKX net maker | OKX net taker | MEXC net maker | MEXC net taker |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| After rebate | 0.08% × 0.8 = 0.064% | 0.10% × 0.8 = 0.08% | 0% | 0.05% × 0.4 = 0.02% |
Spot maker orders on MEXC are free, so there is nothing to rebate; spot taker nets 0.02%. On 100,000 USDT of monthly spot taker volume, OKX charges 100 USDT, refunds 20 and nets 80 USDT; MEXC charges 50 USDT and nets 20 USDT. More spot tactics: fee rebates for spot investors; the net-rate math: effective perp fees after rebates.
In cash: one trade and one month
One trade: 2,500 USDT margin at 20x leverage
Notional = 2,500 × 20 = 50,000 USDT. Opening with a market order, the fee is 50,000 × 0.05% = 25 USDT on OKX, netting 20 USDT after 20%; it is 50,000 × 0.04% = 20 USDT on MEXC, netting 20 × (1 − 60%) = 8 USDT. Opening with a limit order: OKX charges 10 USDT and nets 8 USDT; MEXC charges 5 USDT and nets 2 USDT.
500,000 USDT a month, all taker
| Setup | Returned | Net cost |
|---|---|---|
| OKX (FEEOTTER, 20% auto) | 50 USDT | 200 USDT |
| MEXC with a common 20% code | 40 USDT | 160 USDT |
| MEXC, Fee Otter (60%) | 120 USDT | 80 USDT |
Monthly fees are 500,000 × 0.05% = 250 USDT on OKX; 500,000 × 0.04% = 200 USDT on MEXC. Returned = monthly fees × rebate rate, net cost = monthly fees − returned. On MEXC alone, switching from a common 20% code to mexc-FEEOTTER cuts the monthly net cost from 160 to 80 USDT, 960 USDT a year.
BTC, ETH and fee-free contracts: MEXC's extra edge
Everything above uses MEXC's standard rates, but its two busiest contracts are not on the standard price right now. MEXC's public API on 2026-10-18 showed BTC and ETH perps at 0% maker and 0.02% taker, and about 125 contracts at 0% for both (see MEXC's zero-fee zone). Trading only BTC or ETH perps, MEXC's net taker after the rebate is 0.008%. The same BTC perp market order on OKX pays the standard 0.05%, or 0.04% net after 20%. For one BTC perp market order of 50,000 USDT notional, MEXC charges 50,000 × 0.02% = 10 USDT, netting 4 USDT; the fee is 25 USDT on OKX, netting 20 USDT. Fee-free contracts have no fee and therefore no rebate. These are promotional rates that MEXC can change at any time; the figures here are as verified on 2026-10-18. MEXC's notices set the end dates, after which rates return to the standard 0.01% / 0.04%.
Tokenized stocks and products: where OKX is strong
Beyond cost, OKX has a few things MEXC cannot match:
- Measured tokenized US stock perps. In our tokenized stock perp fee comparison (public APIs, measured 2026-09-20), OKX covered 147 of the 198-symbol Binance benchmark, with 24-hour turnover of 57.8 million USDT in crude oil (CL), 20.9 million in MSTR and 0.9 million in SPY. We have not yet measured MEXC's tokenized stocks.
- Web3 wallet and on-chain features. OKX runs its own Web3 wallet; if you already rely on on-chain features, staying on OKX is simpler.
- Liquidity for large orders. For big orders in major markets, slippage can matter more than the fee gap; for frequent, moderate-size trading, MEXC's fee and rebate edge keeps compounding.
At the regular 0.05% taker fee, 500,000 USDT a month of tokenized stock perps on OKX costs 250 USDT in fees, returns 50 USDT and nets 200 USDT.
Adding a code late and rebinding: MEXC has a 30-day window, OKX has official routes
| Item | OKX | MEXC |
|---|---|---|
| Adding a code after signup | Not possible, and the code cannot be changed | Within 30 days, on a main account with no referrer, via self-service linking |
| Route one | After 180 days idle, log in through the referral link to be recalled | After 30 days: sign up again with a new email through the referral link |
| Route two | Official rebind request (reviewed by OKX) | One person can hold at most two accounts; if both are used, delete one first (up to 15 working days) |
| Route three | Users outside mainland China close the phone number and email, releasing the KYC, then sign up again | None |
| If nothing works | Contact support | Contact support |
MEXC: self-service within 30 days, then a new email
MEXC is one of the few exchanges with an official late-entry window: within 30 days of signup you can add code mexc-FEEOTTER yourself through self-service linking, with no new account needed. It must be a main account with no referrer yet, the referrer must have signed up before you, and the link cannot be changed later (see MEXC's self-service referrer linking guide). After 30 days, sign up again through the referral link with an email that has never been used on MEXC. One person can hold at most two accounts; if both are used, delete one first. Deletion takes up to 15 working days, during which you cannot deposit or trade (see MEXC's account deletion guide). Steps: MEXC rebind guide.
OKX: no late entry, but three rebind routes
OKX states that referral codes must be added before the account is created, and cannot be added or changed afterwards. Try these routes in order:
- 180-day idle recall: once the account has had no deposits, trades or logins for over 180 days (see the OKX affiliate FAQ), log in through our referral link to complete the recall. Do not log in while you wait.
- Official rebind request: submit a request on OKX's rebind page to move under code FEEOTTER, for OKX to review. According to OKX's business team, it usually requires an account older than 90 days with trading volume below a set threshold over the last 90 days (subject to OKX's review). Leaving the account idle for one to two months first improves the approval rate.
- Close the phone number and email, then sign up again: for users outside mainland China, closing the account for the first time releases the KYC, so you can sign up again through our link. A cooling-off period follows, during which the same phone number, email and identity details cannot open a new account; its length varies by region (see OKX's account closure guide).
If none of these work, contact support. Full steps: OKX rebind guide; every exchange side by side: referral code and rebind rules. Either way, finish by binding the new account's UID on Fee Otter. Binding needs only the UID, never an API key or password. Submissions are reviewed automatically at 16:00 (UTC+8) the next day, and rebates are settled daily with every entry visible.
The two codes differ. OKX uses FEEOTTER; MEXC uses mexc-FEEOTTER, prefix included, and entering FEEOTTER on MEXC counts as no code; signing up through the referral link fills in the right one for you. Details: OKX referral code and MEXC referral code.
