Once a referrer (referral code or invite code) is bound, none of the exchanges here lets you change it (checked September 24, 2026). If you skipped the code at signup, only four exchanges let you add it later, and each has a deadline: Binance within 30 days of signup, MEXC within 30 days, Bybit within 14 days, and Pionex within 14 days (only 72 hours if you have already used a bot or placed an order). OKX, Gate, Bitget, WEEX, XT.COM, HTX and Ourbit have no public way to add a code after signup. If your window has closed or someone else's code is already on the account, you need a rebind method instead: an official rebind request, a KYC identity transfer, deleting the account and registering again, or opening a new account.
Quick answers
- Four exchanges allow late entry: Binance (30 days), MEXC (30 days), Bybit (14 days) and Pionex (14 days / 72 hours).
- Can a bound code be changed? Not on any of them. A code added late is locked in the same way.
- Official rebind channels: Binance's Rebind Request page (bind-ref), plus OKX's official rebind request and its 180-day inactivity recall.
- New account with another ID document: Bybit. Verify a new account with a driver's licence, passport or ID card the old account hasn't used; this is the fastest route.
- Self-service KYC transfer: Bybit. WEEX can transfer KYC through in-app support.
- Rebind by simply registering again: Gate, WEEX, XT.COM, HTX and Ourbit. Use an email (or phone number) the exchange has never seen.
- The step people forget: bind the new account's UID on the Fee Otter rebate site, or no rebate is tracked.
- If you are rebinding anyway, rebind to our code: on 1,000 USDT of monthly fees, a typical 20% code returns 200 USDT, while binding through Fee Otter returns 400 to 700 USDT.
If you are going to rebind anyway, move to a higher rebate in one go. Most KOL referral codes you find online give 20%. Through Fee Otter, Binance and Bybit pay 40% (2×), Bitget 50% (2.5×), MEXC 60% (3×), and Gate, WEEX, XT.COM and Ourbit 70% (3.5×). On 1,000 USDT of fees a month, a 20% code returns 200 USDT; Gate with our code FEEOTTER returns 700 USDT, a gap of 6,000 USDT a year. If you are already a VIP at an exchange and want to rebind or sign up at another one, contact support: we can help you apply for special trading perks or a higher rebate rate.

Which method to try, in order
- Check the late-entry window first: if the account is within 30 days at Binance or MEXC, within 14 days at Bybit or Pionex (72 hours at Pionex after bots or orders), and it has no referrer yet, add the code officially. No new account needed.
- Then try the official rebind: Binance's Rebind Request (bind-ref), or at OKX the official rebind request or the 180-day inactivity recall.
- Then open a new account with another ID document: the fastest route at Bybit. Register with the new code, then verify with a driver's licence, passport or ID card the old account hasn't used.
- Then use KYC transfer: self-service at Bybit, through support at WEEX. Register an unverified account with the new code first, then move the old account's KYC across.
- Then delete and re-register: at Binance, move the KYC 35 days after deletion; at Bitget, wait out the 30-day cooldown; at MEXC, wait for deletion to finish (up to 15 working days); at Pionex, register with the new code right after deletion, trade with KYC Level 1 and complete KYC Level 2 after 30 days.
- Last, a new account with a new phone number or email: at Gate, MEXC, WEEX, XT.COM and Ourbit, register again with an unused phone number or email.
Whichever route you take, the order is the same: register with the new referral code first, then do everything else. KYC transfer and re-registration move your identity, not your referral code. If the new account was opened without the code, nothing you do afterwards will bring the rebate back.
Exchange-by-exchange rules
Binance
You can add a code within 30 days of signup if the account has no deposit, no trade and no referrer. Once a referral relationship exists it cannot be changed or removed (Binance Referral Pro FAQ). After the window closes, there is the official Rebind Request page: KYC must be complete, 90-day volume before applying must be no more than 5,000 USD, and you pass by trading 150,000 USDT within 30 days of applying. This page only works for accounts that have no referrer yet. If you already have one, delete the old account and move the KYC to a new account after 35 days; see the Binance rebind guide, and the Binance referral code page for the code and rebate rates.
OKX
OKX only accepts an invite code when the account is created, and attribution cannot be changed afterwards. There are two official routes. The first is recall after 180 days of inactivity: per the OKX affiliate FAQ, inactive means no deposits, trades or logins for 180 days, so do not log in, deposit or trade while you wait. The second is the official rebind request, which is reviewed automatically against unpublished conditions; leaving the account idle for one to two months first improves your chances. All three methods are in the OKX rebind guide; if none works, contact support.
Bybit
Within 14 days of signup, a main account with no referrer can add an affiliate code under Profile → Account → Account Info → Join an Affiliate's Community; for us, enter affiliate ID 163627 (the form takes numbers only; see the Bybit add-code guide). Once added, it cannot be cancelled or changed (Bybit help article). After 14 days, the fastest route is a new account with another ID document: Bybit lets you complete KYC on 3 different accounts with a driver's licence, a passport and an ID card, so register a new account through our link and verify it with a document you have not used yet. With only one document, use the official identity transfer: the old account's KYC must be at least 24 hours old, the receiving account must be unverified, you cannot transfer again for 180 days, and both accounts lose withdrawals and fiat for 24 hours. Full steps are in the Bybit rebind guide; rebate rates are in the Bybit fee rebate guide.
Gate
Gate takes the invite code only at signup (Gate referral page), and it cannot be added later. Rebinding is easy: one KYC can register up to 5 accounts, so sign up again with a new email through our link (code FEEOTTER, already built in). A phone number is not required. See the Gate rebind guide.
Bitget
The Bitget exchange has no public way to add a code after signup. The widely quoted "add a code within 7 days" rule is for Bitget Wallet, not exchange accounts. To rebind you delete the account first; the Bitget account deletion article says the same phone number, email or ID cannot register a new account for 30 days after deletion. When the cooldown ends, register again through our link. Users with Chinese KYC can ask support to shorten the cooldown; see the Bitget rebind guide.
MEXC
Within 30 days of signup, a main account with no referrer can add our code mexc-FEEOTTER through MEXC's self-service referrer linking; the link cannot be changed afterwards. After 30 days, register again with a new email. One person's KYC can be linked to at most 2 accounts; if both are used, delete one first. Deletion takes up to 15 working days, and you cannot deposit or trade in the meantime (MEXC account deletion article). See the MEXC rebind guide.
WEEX
WEEX has no way to add an invite code after signup. KYC is not mandatory at WEEX, so the new account can trade without verification. If your old account is verified, contact support from the new account (top right of the app) to transfer the KYC. See the WEEX rebind guide.
XT.COM
XT.COM takes the referral code only at signup (the optional "Referral code" field; see XT.COM's registration guide), and it cannot be added later. To rebind, open a new account with an unused phone number or email; you can trade, deposit and withdraw without KYC, and under XT's official Withdrawal Limit Guide an unverified account can withdraw up to 200,000 USDT a day. The old account can still withdraw, so just move your assets across. See the XT.COM rebind guide.
HTX
HTX takes the referral code at signup only. The "Invite code (optional)" field on the signup page is collapsed by default, so open it and check that it already shows FEEOTTER. HTX has no late-entry option and a bound code cannot be changed; to rebind, register a new account through our signup link, then trade and withdraw as normal. Without KYC you can withdraw 2 BTC per day; L1 basic verification (only nationality, ID number, surname and given name as on your ID, and date of birth; no face scan or ID photo) makes withdrawals unlimited. One person's KYC identity can verify only one account. Steps are in the HTX rebind guide; code details are on the HTX referral code page.
Pionex
According to Pionex's refill rule, an account registered without a code can add one within 14 days. If you have already created a bot or placed an order, the window shrinks to 72 hours. You add it from the avatar menu on web or in the app, and it cannot be changed once submitted. Past the window, or if the account already has another code, the fastest route is to delete the old account and immediately sign up through our referral link (code FEEOTTER). The new account can trade normally with KYC Level 1 alone (country or region, plus your name as it appears on your ID); 30 days after the deletion, complete KYC Level 2 (ID document and face verification). The Pionex account deletion guide says the same details cannot be used to bind, verify or register for 30 days after deletion; Pionex support told us in September 2026 that this restriction applies to completing KYC Level 2 with the same identity, not to registering a new account or completing KYC Level 1. The "ask support to transfer your KYC" advice circulating online no longer applies. Steps are in the Pionex rebind guide; the code itself is covered on the Pionex referral code page.
Ourbit
Ourbit takes the referral code only at signup; it cannot be added or changed once the account exists. To switch, register again through our dedicated link with a phone number or email never used on Ourbit, and check that the referral field shows FEEOTTER before you submit. The new account can trade and withdraw without KYC; complete KYC only if you need a higher withdrawal limit. Ourbit has no public affiliate API, so once you bind the new UID on Fee Otter our team verifies it manually. Steps in the Ourbit rebind guide; the code itself in Ourbit referral code.
Six common rebind mistakes
- Transferring KYC before registering the new account: an identity transfer does not carry the referral code, so always register the new account with the new code first, then transfer KYC.
- Expecting Binance bind-ref to replace an existing referrer: it only works for accounts with no referrer. If you already have one, delete the account and move the KYC after 35 days.
- Logging in to OKX during the recall wait: the official inactivity rule includes "no logins", so a login means the account is no longer idle.
- Applying Bitget Wallet's 7-day rule to the exchange: Bitget exchange accounts have no late-entry option.
- Getting the code or its case wrong: all codes are in the exchange referral code list.
- Forgetting to bind the UID after rebinding: bind the new account's UID on the Fee Otter rebate site, or the extra rebate never starts. How payouts work: how fee rebates are settled.
Before you rebind, close positions on the old account and move your assets to the new one. KYC transfer and re-registration only change which referrer the account belongs to; assets, positions and copy trades never move on their own. Bybit also locks withdrawals on both accounts for 24 hours after a transfer, so leave time for large moves.
