You can't change the referral link on an existing HTX (formerly Huobi) account: the code can only be entered at signup, there's no public way to add one later, and a bound code can't be changed. To rebind, register a new account through our dedicated link with code FEEOTTER, trade from the new account, and bind its UID on Fee Otter. Through Fee Otter, HTX pays a 50% futures rebate, 2.5 times a common 20% code: on 1,000 USDT of monthly fees, a common code returns 200 USDT and ours returns 500 USDT, 300 USDT more every month (checked October 2026).
The new account can trade and withdraw without KYC, up to 2 BTC per day. For more, complete L1 Basic verification: enter your nationality, ID number, surname, given name and date of birth, then submit. There is no face scan and no document photo, and once L1 is done your withdrawals have no limit. This guide covers the rebind steps, how to fill in L1 and how much more rebate you get.
Key takeaways
- An old account's code cannot be changed: HTX has no public way to add a code later, and a bound code is effectively permanent, so rebinding means registering a new account.
- The code is FEEOTTER: the dedicated link fills it in.
- No KYC needed to get started: the new account can trade and withdraw normally, up to 2 BTC per day.
- L1 is just five fields: nationality, ID number, surname, given name and date of birth, with no face scan or document photo; after that withdrawals are unlimited.
- The rebate is 2.5 times a common code: through Fee Otter, 50% on futures. Remember to bind the new account's UID on Fee Otter after you register.
When do you need to rebind?
An HTX referral code can only be entered at sign-up. There is no public way to add one afterwards, and once a referral link exists it cannot be changed. In any of these cases your old account will not earn our rebate:
- You used someone else's code, such as one from a KOL or a friend, which usually passes on only 20%, sometimes 25%.
- You left the code blank: the "Referral Code (Optional)" field is collapsed by default, and many people submit without ever opening it.
- You entered a different code: if the code at sign-up wasn't ours, FEEOTTER, the account is not bound to Fee Otter.
Why do most codes stop at 20%? HTX's official rules state that a referrer creating a custom code decides how much to share with the people they invite, and keeps the rest of the commission. When you bind through Fee Otter, our code pays 50% on HTX futures, which is why rebinding is worth doing.
You cannot change the old account's referral link, but you can register a new account with our code and move your trading there. The same volume then earns 50% back instead of a common code's 20%.
How existing HTX users rebind: register a new account
There are four short steps: sign up with a new email or phone number, use the account without KYC, decide which account gets your verified identity, and complete L1 when you need higher limits.
Step 1: Sign up through the dedicated link
Use an email address or phone number that has never been registered on HTX, and open the official HTX sign-up page through the button in this article; the dedicated link already carries the code. After setting a password and passing verification, expand "Referral Code (Optional)" and check that it shows FEEOTTER before you continue. Turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) as soon as the account is open.
Step 2: Trade and withdraw without KYC
A new HTX account can trade and withdraw without KYC, with a daily withdrawal limit of 2 BTC. For most people 2 BTC a day covers normal deposits and withdrawals, so you can fund the account and start trading straight away instead of waiting on verification.
Step 3: One person's KYC data can verify only one account
HTX identity verification follows the person: one person's KYC data can verify only one account. Your new account can therefore stay unverified and still trade and withdraw up to 2 BTC a day; if your old account was never verified, you can complete L1 on the new one with your own details.
Step 4: Complete L1 Basic verification when you need higher limits
L1 Basic verification takes five fields and a click on Submit (HTX explains its verification levels in HTX's official KYC guide):
- Nationality
- ID number
- Surname as on your ID (labelled 中文姓 in the Chinese interface)
- Given name as on your ID (labelled 中文名 in the Chinese interface)
- Date of birth
Press Submit and you are done. L1 needs no face verification and no photo of your ID; once it is complete, the withdrawal limit goes from 2 BTC per day to unlimited. Enter your details exactly as they appear on your ID to avoid typos.
No KYC vs L1: what is the difference?
| Item | No KYC | L1 Basic |
| Details required | No identity details | Nationality, ID number, surname, given name, date of birth |
| Face scan / ID photo | Not required | Not required |
| Trading | Yes | Yes |
| Daily withdrawal limit | 2 BTC | Unlimited |
If you withdraw less than 2 BTC a day, the new account works fine unverified; for larger transfers, a few minutes on L1 removes the limit.
After registering, bind your UID on Fee Otter
The referral code goes in on HTX; the UID is bound on Fee Otter. The rebate is only complete once both are done. Your UID is the numeric ID of your HTX account, shown in your personal centre after you log in, where you can copy it. Paste it into the Fee Otter rebate site, choose HTX and submit. Make sure you bind the new account's UID, not the old one.
Binding needs only the UID, with no API key, password or withdrawal permission, and your assets stay in your own HTX account throughout. Fees generated after binding are matched to your UID line by line once the exchange's daily report is imported, usually credited from T+1, and every entry can be checked. For where to find the UID, see What is an exchange UID and where to find it.
How much more rebate do you get after rebinding?
When you bind through Fee Otter, HTX pays 50% on futures (a 30% exchange auto-rebate plus a 20% extra from Fee Otter) and 45% on spot. Current rates by exchange:
A rebate is a percentage of your fees, so start with HTX's regular-user (Prime 0) list rates:
| Market | Maker | Taker |
| Spot | 0.20% | 0.20% |
| USDT-margined perpetuals | 0.02% | 0.06% |
Fees verified on 2026-09-24 (each exchange's official fee schedule). · Methodology
The latest rates are on HTX's official fee page.
Spot example: a 0.2% fee makes the rebate count
HTX charges 0.2% maker and taker on spot, tied with XT.COM, which also charges 0.2%. On 100,000 USDT of spot volume a month, fees are 200 USDT: a common 20% code returns 40 USDT, ours returns 90 USDT.
| Monthly spot volume | Monthly fees | Common 20% code | Fee Otter (45%) | Extra per month | Extra per year vs common code |
| 10,000 USDT | 20 USDT | 4 | 9 | 5 | 60 |
| 50,000 USDT | 100 USDT | 20 | 45 | 25 | 300 |
| 100,000 USDT | 200 USDT | 40 | 90 | 50 | 600 |
| 500,000 USDT | 1,000 USDT | 200 | 450 | 250 | 3,000 |
Figures in USDT per month; "extra per year" uses 45% minus 20%. As an effective rate, a common code leaves you paying 0.16% and Fee Otter 0.11%. On HTX spot, picking the right referral code cuts the 0.2% fee almost in half.
Futures example: an effective taker fee of 0.03%
Assuming 70% taker and 30% maker orders, the blended rate is 0.7 × 0.06% + 0.3 × 0.02% = 0.048%. On 500,000 USDT of futures volume a month, fees are 240 USDT: a common 20% code returns 48 USDT, ours returns 120 USDT. A 0.06% taker fee after a 50% rebate is 0.06% × (1 − 50%) = 0.03%.
A note on regions: under the HTX User Agreement (updated September 2026), derivatives are not available in some regions. Check yours before trading futures; the futures example above applies where HTX derivatives are available.
On 1,000 USDT of monthly fees, a common 20% code returns 200 USDT, while ours returns 500 USDT on futures. Over a year that is 3,600 USDT more, and the only difference is the code you signed up with.
If you already have VIP status on an exchange and want to rebind or sign up on another one, contact our support. We can help you apply for special trading perks or a higher rebate rate.
Settlement: Fee Otter settles the rebate and pays it as on-chain USDT on BNB Smart Chain (BEP20) to an address you own, such as your HTX deposit address on that network. Details are in the HTX fee rebate guide.
Who benefits most from rebinding?
- Spot-focused HTX users: the 0.2% spot fee is the biggest cost, and after rebinding you pay 0.11%. At 100,000 USDT of spot volume a month, that is 600 USDT a year more than a common code.
- Futures traders in regions where derivatives are available: 50% back and a 0.03% effective taker fee. At 500,000 USDT of futures volume a month, that is 72 USDT a month more than a common code.
- Anyone withdrawing under 2 BTC a day: the new account works without KYC, so rebinding adds almost no extra steps; for larger transfers, a few minutes on L1 is enough.
If you barely trade on HTX, rebinding makes little difference. But if HTX is one of your regular exchanges, you pay fees every month, and the sooner you rebind, the bigger the gap you collect.
Common rebinding mistakes
- Submitting without expanding "Referral Code (Optional)": the field is collapsed by default, so open it and check that it is filled in before continuing.
- Signing up with the old account's email or phone: the new account needs an email or phone number never registered on HTX.
- Forgetting to bind the UID on Fee Otter: entering the code without binding the UID leaves the rebate incomplete.
- Binding the old account's UID: after rebinding you trade on the new account, so bind the new account's UID.
Summary
You cannot change an old HTX account's code, but by registering again through our link (code FEEOTTER) and binding the new UID on Fee Otter, your futures rebate goes from a common code's 20% to 50%, and spot to 45%. The new account withdraws up to 2 BTC a day without KYC, and L1 removes the limit.
For code details see HTX referral code; WEEX uses the same re-register method, see the WEEX rebind guide.
Frequently asked questions
Can I withdraw from HTX without KYC?
Yes. An unverified HTX account can trade and withdraw, with a daily withdrawal limit of 2 BTC; after L1 Basic verification, withdrawals have no limit.
