How Crypto Fee Rebates Are Settled and When They Arrive

Exchanges charge first and refund later. What that means for your available balance, when each rebate lands, and where to view it and request a withdrawal.

Fee rebates are collected first and refunded later: the exchange charges the full fee, aggregates and reconciles it (usually daily), then returns the agreed share to your rebate account, so most rebates show up the next day or within a few days. Once you bind a Fee Otter invite code, you can check every rebate and pending payout on Fee Otter and request a withdrawal. Each exchange has one rate, such as 70% on Gate or 50% on Bitget (checked October 2026).

Collect first, refund later: how fee rebates work

A rebate is "charge at full price, then return a share," unlike a discount. When your order fills, the exchange charges maker/taker fees based on your fee tier. Part of that fee is recorded as a "rebatable amount," and after the exchange aggregates and reconciles it, the agreed share is returned to your rebate account.

Why refund afterward instead of discounting up front? Because the rebate is tied to your referral relationship, and the exchange must first confirm the trade is real and not cancelled or refunded before it can compute the payable amount. That is also why rebates are rarely instant and carry a settlement delay.

Your nominal fee rate does not change, so your maker/taker strategy is unaffected. What changes is your net fee, the real cost you bear once the rebate is counted. To compare the raw fee rates across exchanges, see the table below.

Settlement rhythm: from fill to rebate credit

From the moment a rebate is generated to when you can claim it, it passes through roughly four stages:

  1. Fill and billing: your order fills and the exchange charges the fee at your rate.
  2. Aggregation and reconciliation: on a fixed cycle (usually daily) the exchange totals your rebatable fees and deducts refunds, cancellations and other adjustments.
  3. Rebate credit: once reconciled, the payable share is posted to your rebate or commission account.
  4. View and claim: at the rebate dashboard (Fee Otter) you can see every single rebate and your running available balance, and request a withdrawal at any time.

Aggregation cycles differ by exchange: some settle daily, some next-day or T+1, and some cut over at the UTC day boundary. So a trade you make today often shows its rebate the next day or within a few days. That is normal, not a missed payout.

Where to claim it: one dashboard for every rebate

Most KOL invite codes hand you a single discount number and nothing more: you can't see how much you paid, how much came back, or where it went; you have to dig through the exchange back office yourself. Fee Otter works differently: once you bind our invite code, the rebate dashboard (Fee Otter) lets you check every rebate and your available balance, and request a withdrawal.

KOL invite codes usually give a flat 20%. Fee Otter pays one rate per exchange, for example 70% on Gate and 50% on Bitget. The table below compares rates and rebate structure across exchanges.

How settlement differs by exchange

The collect-first, refund-later skeleton is the same everywhere, but each exchange differs in its rebate rate, aggregation cadence and binding steps. Here are the highlights; for the full detail and rebinding steps, open each guide.

Binance

40% rebate (20% automatic from the exchange + 20% extra from Fee Otter). Since 2025-02-13 Binance pays the automatic kickback in USDC by default, converted hourly and credited to your Spot account within 6 hours; a regular referral code (Referral Pro Tier 0) gets the futures kickback for 12 months only, while our code is an affiliate code and has no such limit (Binance official FAQ). See the Binance rebinding guide. Rates and worked examples: Binance fee rebate guide.

OKX

OKX 20% auto-rebate + exclusive rewards, with invite code FEEOTTER; ask support about our exclusive OKX rewards and promotions. See the OKX rebinding guide. OKX's official range for the invitee rebate is in the OKX affiliate FAQ; see also the OKX fee rebate guide.

Bitget

50% rebate (20% automatic + 30% extra from Fee Otter), invite code FEEOTTER. See the Bitget rebinding guide. How Bitget settles its official rebate is covered in the Bitget affiliate FAQ; see also the Bitget fee rebate guide.

Bybit

40% rebate, invite code FEEOTTER. Note: Bybit has no "20% automatic + extra" stack; the 40% is a single combined total, all of it Fee Otter's extra rebate. See the Bybit rebinding guide. Rates and worked examples: Bybit fee rebate guide.

Gate

70% rebate (20% automatic + 50% extra from Fee Otter), invite code FEEOTTER. See the Gate rebinding guide. Rates and worked examples: Gate fee rebate guide.

Other exchanges settle in their own ways. HTX pays 50% (see the HTX fee rebate guide). For MEXC, WEEX, XT.COM and Pionex, see the MEXC fee rebate guide, WEEX fee rebate guide, XT.COM fee rebate guide and Pionex fee rebate guide. Whether each exchange lets you add a code late or rebind is summarised in the referral code late-entry and rebind rules by exchange.

How your rebate rate is built: exchange auto-rebate + Fee Otter extra

Fee Otter has one rebate rate per exchange. It is the exchange's automatic rebate plus Fee Otter's extra rebate; on Gate, for example, 20% + 50% = 70%.

A worked example: if you paid 600 USDT in fees on Bybit over the last 30 days, a 40% rate returns 240 USDT. If you are already a VIP on an exchange and want to rebind or sign up on another exchange, contact support; we can help you apply for special trading perks or a higher rebate rate.

Current rates for each exchange are shown live on the platform:

How to withdraw: add an address, request, verify on BscScan

Fee Otter pays its extra rebate one way only: on-chain USDT on BNB Smart Chain (BEP20), to an address you own. Four steps:

  1. Add a payout address: in the withdrawal section of the rebate dashboard, add a BEP20 address (0x followed by 40 hex characters) and confirm it is your own. An exchange deposit address works, but pick the BSC (BEP20) network for USDT on that exchange and mind its minimum deposit: amounts below it may not be credited, and on-chain payments cannot be reversed.
  2. Cooling period: your first address can be used right away; addresses added later have a 24-hour cooling period; you can still withdraw to addresses bound earlier. Adding one sends a confirmation email with a "this wasn't me" link that freezes withdrawals on the account and disables that address (support lifts the freeze).
  3. Request a withdrawal: pick a ready address and enter the amount. Minimum 1 USDT per request, a 0.015 USDT network fee borne by you (you receive amount − 0.015); no cap on requests, but only one can be in progress at a time, the next one opens once the previous is paid.
  4. Verify on BscScan: once paid, your withdrawal history shows the transaction hash and a "View on BscScan" link; every payout is a public on-chain transaction anyone can check for amount and recipient.

What affects when your rebate arrives

  • Exchange aggregation cycle: daily vs T+1 decides how fast the rebate shows.
  • Whether your binding is active: rebinding usually counts from the next settlement cycle; earlier orders are not backdated.
  • Cancellations and refunds: cancelled or refunded fills earn no rebate and are deducted at reconciliation.
  • Payout methods and network confirmation: payouts are on-chain USDT on BNB Smart Chain (BEP20) to an address you own: 1 USDT minimum per request, a 0.015 USDT network fee borne by you, no cap on requests (one at a time), and every payout can be checked on BscScan; on-chain arrival also depends on network confirmation time.

FAQ

What does "collect first, refund later" mean?

The exchange charges you the full fee first, then returns an agreed share to your rebate account based on your referral relationship. The nominal rate is unchanged; what changes is your net cost after the rebate is counted.

How long until a rebate arrives?

It depends on the exchange's aggregation cycle, commonly daily or T+1. A trade today usually shows its rebate the next day or within a few days; settlements crossing the UTC day boundary land a little later, which is normal.

Where do I claim my rebate?

Once you bind our invite code, head to the rebate dashboard (Fee Otter) to view every rebate, your running available balance, and request a withdrawal. The minimum is 1 USDT per request, paid as on-chain USDT on BNB Smart Chain (BEP20).

Where can I see my rebate rate?

Fee Otter has one rate per exchange. The rate table above shows the current numbers live from the platform. If you are already a VIP on an exchange, contact support to apply for a higher rebate rate.

After rebinding, are my earlier trades refunded retroactively?

Generally not. Rebinding usually takes effect from the next settlement cycle, and earlier orders are computed under the prior relationship. See each exchange's rebinding guide for details.

Why does my own rebate estimate differ from what actually lands?

Common causes are cancellations, refunds or cross-cycle adjustments; those fills earn no rebate and are deducted at reconciliation. For the actual amounts, go by the detail on the rebate dashboard.
