Binance is slightly cheaper for futures taker orders: bound through Fee Otter, both exchanges rebate 40%, which leaves a net taker fee of 0.03% on Binance and 0.033% on Bybit, or 150 USDT against 165 USDT on 500,000 USDT of monthly taker volume. Futures maker and spot fees are the same on both; if you hold idle funds for Earn interest sharing or mainly trade AAPL, Bybit is worth binding too (Bybit referral code FEEOTTER; checked October 2026).
The short version
- List fees: only futures taker differs, 0.05% on Binance vs 0.055% on Bybit. Futures maker is 0.02% and spot is 0.10% on both. Binance also offers a BNB discount (25% off spot, 10% off futures).
- Rebate rates: when bound through Fee Otter, both pay 40%, twice a typical 20% code and 1.6 times a 25% code.
- Net futures cost: taker nets 0.03% on Binance and 0.033% on Bybit; maker nets 0.012% on both. On 500,000 USDT of monthly taker volume, Binance nets out at 150 USDT and Bybit at 165 USDT.
- Tokenised US stocks: against Binance's 198 contracts, Bybit covers 171. Binance leads turnover on most names, but on AAPL Bybit trades 13.1 million USDT a day vs Binance's 5.1 million.
- Existing accounts: Binance lets you add a code within 30 days of signup and has an official bind request. Bybit allows 14 days, after which you move your KYC to a new account.
Rebate comparison: Fee Otter's code against common influencer codes
Start with what hits your wallet most directly: how much of the same fee comes back with different codes. The influencer referral codes you find online mostly give 20% or 25%. When you bind through Fee Otter, both exchanges pay 40%.
| Channel | Binance | Bybit | vs a typical 20% code |
|---|---|---|---|
| Common influencer code | 20%–25% | 20%–25% | Baseline |
| Through Fee Otter | 40% (20% auto + 20% extra) | 40% (all paid by Fee Otter as extra) | 40 ÷ 20 = 2× |
On Binance, 20% of the 40% comes back from the exchange automatically and Fee Otter pays the other 20%; on Bybit, Fee Otter settles the whole 40%. The Bybit referral code is FEEOTTER. Under Binance's official affiliate guide, the referrer decides whether to share 0% or up to 20% with you, so two things both called a "referral code" can return very different amounts. Binding through Fee Otter pays 40% with no volume required first.
What that means in money: on 1,000 USDT of monthly fees, a common 20% code returns 200 USDT and a 25% code 250 USDT. Through Fee Otter you get 400 USDT, or 2,400 USDT a year more than a typical 20% code. The rate is the same on Binance and Bybit, so you do not lose out whichever you choose.
List fees: only 0.005 pp apart on futures taker
| Item | Binance | Bybit | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spot maker | 0.10% | 0.10% | Tie |
| Spot taker | 0.10% | 0.10% | Tie |
| USDT perpetual maker | 0.02% | 0.02% | Tie |
| USDT perpetual taker | 0.05% | 0.055% | Binance 10% lower |
| Platform-token discount | BNB: 25% off spot (0.075%), 10% off futures | None | Binance only |
Fees verified on 2026-09-24 (each exchange's official fee schedule). · Methodology
- Bybit's futures taker is 2.75 times its maker (0.055% ÷ 0.02%); on Binance it is 2.5 times. The more you rely on market orders, the more Bybit's gap shows.
- Limit-order traders will not notice a difference. Futures maker is 0.02% and spot is 0.10% on both.
- BNB is an extra edge. If you are happy to hold BNB for fees, Binance spot drops to 0.075% first; Bybit has no equivalent platform-token discount. VIP tiers are separate on both and do not apply to regular users.

Net cost after rebate: at equal rates, Bybit cannot close the 0.005% gap
There is one formula: net rate = list fee × (1 − rebate rate). Both exchanges pay the same rate, so the net gap is simply the list-fee gap multiplied by the same factor.
Net rate per trade
| How you bind (total rebate) | Binance futures taker | Bybit futures taker | Futures maker, both |
|---|---|---|---|
| No rebate (0%) | 0.05% | 0.055% | 0.02% |
| Through Fee Otter (40%) | 0.05% × 0.60 = 0.03% | 0.055% × 0.60 = 0.033% | 0.02% × 0.60 = 0.012% |
One comparison people miss: Bybit through Fee Otter nets 0.033%, lower than Binance with a typical 20% code at 0.05% × 0.80 = 0.04%. Choosing the right referral code affects your taker cost more than choosing the exchange.
500,000 USDT monthly volume, all taker
| How you bind | Binance fees → net | Bybit fees → net | Binance saves per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| No rebate | 250 → 250 USDT | 275 → 275 USDT | 25 USDT |
| Through Fee Otter (40%) | 250 − 100 = 150 USDT | 275 − 110 = 165 USDT | 15 USDT |
The fees themselves are 500,000 × 0.05% = 250 USDT against 500,000 × 0.055% = 275 USDT. The rebate narrows the monthly gap from 25 USDT to 15 USDT, but does not reverse it. On those same 275 USDT of Bybit fees, a typical 20% code returns only 55 USDT, while Fee Otter returns 110 USDT. If you trade all maker instead, both charge 500,000 × 0.02% = 100 USDT and both net 60 USDT after the rebate, a dead heat. For other maker/taker mixes, see effective perpetual fees after rebate.

Spot: identical fees, BNB decides
Both charge 0.10% on spot and pay the same rebate, so spot nets 0.10% × 0.60 = 0.06% on both. The only difference is BNB: with the BNB discount on, Binance spot drops to 0.075% first, then 40% comes back on the discounted fee, for 0.075% × 0.60 = 0.045%. If you do not want to hold BNB, the two are equal on spot fees.
Tokenised US stock perpetuals: Binance has the volume, Bybit wins on AAPL
Both list perpetuals on stocks, crude oil and gold, on the regular futures fee schedule, so the net costs above apply directly. Data from each exchange's public API, 20 September 2026:
| Item | Binance | Bybit |
|---|---|---|
| TradFi perpetual coverage (baseline: Binance's 198) | 198 | 171 (86%) |
| CL (crude oil) 24h turnover | 320M USDT | 42.8M USDT |
| MSTR 24h turnover | 124M USDT | 22.2M USDT |
| SPY 24h turnover | 23.2M USDT | 0.4M USDT |
| NVDA 24h turnover | 18M USDT | 2.1M USDT |
| TSLA 24h turnover | 7.5M USDT | 3M USDT |
| AAPL 24h turnover | 5.1M USDT | 13.1M USDT |
| Net cost on 500,000 USDT monthly taker volume | 150 USDT | 165 USDT |
Binance leads on CL, MSTR, SPY, NVDA and TSLA, with the widest gap on SPY. Only on AAPL does Bybit come out ahead, with 13.1 million USDT against Binance's 5.1 million, about 2.6 times. When choosing an exchange for tokenised stocks, look at the volume of the contract you actually trade, not the total number of listings.
Binance also keeps TradFi perpetuals on a separate official fee page. Under a current promotion, maker fees there are 0 and taker fees apply as listed; check Binance's announcements for terms and dates. Binance also lists Hong Kong stocks and some pre-IPO names. Funding is a hidden cost on both: over Binance's last 500 settlements, MSTR's funding rate varied 28 times as much as BTC's, and CL settles every 4 hours. Full data is in tokenised stock perpetual fee comparison.
Bybit's bonus: a share of your Earn interest
This is Bybit's clearest advantage in this comparison, and it has nothing to do with trading fees.
- Earn itself has no extra fee. Per Bybit's official FAQ, the management fee is already reflected in the APR.
- Your Earn interest still generates an affiliate share. Bybit's official affiliate programme pays affiliates on referred users' activity, Earn interest included, and most influencers keep all of it.
- When you bind through Fee Otter, 40% of that interest share comes back to you. The base is the interest share, not trading fees, and it is calculated and settled separately from the fee rebate.
- Binance has no equivalent Earn share. Among the major exchanges, Bybit is the one that offers this.
If you keep a pile of stablecoins sitting on the exchange, Bybit's Earn share can partly offset its 0.005 pp higher futures taker fee. Full details in the Bybit Earn interest share guide.
How the rebate is settled: two places on Binance, one on Bybit
| Item | Binance | Bybit |
|---|---|---|
| Paid by the exchange | 20%; since 2025-02-13 converted to USDC hourly and credited to your Binance Spot account within 6 hours | None; Fee Otter settles the whole amount |
| Settled by Fee Otter | Extra 20%, added to your available balance around T+1 | 40%, added to your available balance around T+1 |
| Where to reconcile | Binance Spot account + rebate dashboard | Rebate dashboard only |
If something looks missing on Binance, first check which side you are looking at; on Bybit everything sits in your available balance, so one place reconciles it all and you can request a withdrawal at any time. Both only need your UID, not an API key or password.
Adding a code late and rebinding: 14 days on Bybit, 30 on Binance
On both exchanges, a referral link cannot be changed once it is set, but the recovery windows and methods differ:
| Item | Binance | Bybit |
|---|---|---|
| Late-entry window after signup | Within 30 days | Within 14 days |
| Late-entry conditions | No deposit, no trade, no referrer; main account; KYC not used on another account in the last 180 days | No referrer; main account; affiliate codes only |
| Official rebind / bind request | Yes: bind-ref, 90-day volume ≤ 5,000 USD, then 150,000 USDT of volume within 30 days of applying | None |
| KYC transfer | Close the old account; after 35 days move KYC to the new one | Move to a new unverified account; old account's KYC at least 24 hours old; once every 180 days |
| Fastest method | None (use the official Rebind Request or the KYC transfer) | Open a new account with an ID document you have not used yet |
Binance: within 30 days of signup you can add Fee Otter as your referrer under the official rules. After that, use the official bind request, or close the account and move KYC after 35 days. Accounts bound through Fee Otter are on Binance's affiliate programme, so the 12-month limit on futures kickbacks under Referral Pro Tier 0 does not apply.
Bybit: a main account with no referrer can add the code FEEOTTER within 14 days of signup under Profile → Account → Account Info → "Join an Affiliate's Community"; see Bybit's official guide. After 14 days, register a brand-new, unverified account through our link first, then follow the official identity transfer steps to move your old account's KYC across; or open a new account with whichever of your driving licence, passport or ID card you have not used yet.
On Bybit, always register the new account before transferring KYC: identity transfer moves only your KYC; assets, email, phone number and referral code stay behind. Both accounts have withdrawals and fiat restricted for 24 hours afterwards. Get the order wrong and the new account will not sit under Fee Otter.
Full steps are in the Binance rebind guide and the Bybit rebind guide; the general mechanics of KYC transfer are in KYC identity transfer and rebates.
Which one fits you

Frequently asked questions
Which has lower fees, Binance or Bybit?
Binance, slightly. The only difference is futures taker: 0.05% on Binance, 0.055% on Bybit; futures maker is 0.02% and spot 0.10% on both. When bound through Fee Otter, both pay the same rebate, so after the rebate a Binance taker order costs 0.03% and a Bybit one 0.033%. The gap narrows but does not flip.
How much more does Fee Otter pay than a typical referral code?
When bound through Fee Otter, Binance and Bybit both pay 40%. On 1,000 USDT of monthly fees, a typical 20% code returns 200 USDT and Fee Otter returns 400 USDT.
Are the Binance and Bybit rebate rates the same?
Yes, both are 40% when bound through Fee Otter. Only settlement differs: on Binance 20% comes back from the exchange automatically and Fee Otter pays the other 20%; on Bybit, Fee Otter settles the whole 40%.
Which is better for tokenised US stocks, Binance or Bybit?
Binance for most names. Against Binance's 198 contracts, Bybit covers 171, and Binance leads turnover on CL, MSTR, SPY, NVDA and TSLA, with a lower net taker rate after the rebate. The exception is AAPL, where Bybit trades 13.1 million USDT a day against Binance's 5.1 million.
Can I add a referral code on Bybit after signing up?
Yes, within 14 days of signup, on a main account with no referrer, and only an affiliate code; it cannot be changed afterwards. After 14 days, open a new account and transfer your KYC, or open a new account with a different ID document.
Is Binance's late-entry window longer than Bybit's?
Yes. Binance allows 30 days from signup, as long as you have not deposited or traded and have no referrer; Bybit allows 14 days. Binance also has an official bind request, which Bybit does not.
What is the Bybit Earn interest share?
It is the Earn commission Bybit pays affiliates. Bybit Earn has no extra fee, but affiliates earn a share on your Earn interest; when you bind through Fee Otter, 40% of that share comes back to you. Binance has no equivalent.
