KYC Identity Transfer for Rebates: Bybit and WEEX
A referral code can't be added later, but Bybit and WEEX let you move KYC from an old account to one registered with a new code, so the same document gets a higher fee rebate. Rules compared, steps and official links.
If your old account is already bound to someone else's code, Bybit, WEEX and BingX all let you move KYC from that account to a new one: register an unverified account with the new referral code first, then transfer, keeping the same ID. Bound through Fee Otter, Bybit pays 40% (code FEEOTTER), WEEX 70% (code otter123) and BingX 45% (code FEEOTTER, all paid automatically by BingX); on 1,000 USDT of monthly fees, a typical 20% code returns 200, while Bybit returns 400, WEEX 700 and BingX 450 USDT (checked October 2026).
A referral code is normally entered at signup. A few exchanges offer an official way to add one later, but only within limits (Bybit: within 14 days of signup and with no existing referrer), and once bound it can't be changed.
The method is the same everywhere: register an unverified account with the new referral code, then move the old account's identity verification to it. The new account carries the new code, so the rebate follows the new code; your ID document stays the same.
Why does a KYC transfer get you a higher rebate?
The rebate follows the referral code used at signup, not the KYC. KYC only proves you are you; the code decides how much of your fees comes back, and to whom.
So once the new account is registered with a better code, moving your KYC keeps your identity and trading permissions but changes the share of every fee that's returned.

All three let you keep the same ID document and move to a higher rebate. On 1,000 USDT of monthly fees, a common 20% code returns 200 USDT; after switching to our code (Bybit referral code FEEOTTER, WEEX referral code otter123, BingX referral code FEEOTTER), Bybit returns 400 USDT, WEEX 700 USDT and BingX 450 USDT.
The general steps
Register a brand-new, unverified account through Fee Otter's dedicated link.
Start the KYC transfer from the old account (self-serve on Bybit and BingX; via support on WEEX) and name the new account as the receiver.
The order can't be reversed: a KYC transfer moves identity only; assets, email, phone and referral code stay behind. Transfer first and register later, and the new account has no code.
On Bybit the entry is Profile → Identity Verification → Identity Transfer. The old account's KYC must be at least 24 hours old; the receiving account must be unverified; after a transfer neither can transfer again for 180 days, and withdrawals and fiat are limited on both for 24 hours.
The three methods in the Bybit rebind guide, in brief:
Method 1: within 14 days of signup, add the affiliate code officially: if the account is under 14 days old and has no referrer or affiliate code, add our affiliate ID 163627 (the form takes numbers only, not the alphanumeric signup code; see the Bybit add-code guide) under Profile → Account → Account Info → "Join an Affiliate's Community", with no new account needed. Main accounts only; it can't be cancelled or changed afterwards.
Method 2: transfer your existing KYC to a new account: first register a brand-new, unverified account through the Fee Otter link, then, once the old account's KYC is at least 24 hours old, move it to the new account under Profile → Identity Verification → Identity Transfer.
Method 3 (recommended, fastest): Bybit lets you complete KYC on 3 different accounts with a driver's licence, passport and national ID; use a document you haven't used yet to register a new account through the dedicated link, which carries our code.
WEEX
WEEX doesn't require KYC, so most people rebind by registering again with a phone number or email never used on WEEX, with no KYC needed.
If the old account is verified and you want the new one verified too, contact support from the new account via the top-right of the WEEX app and follow their instructions. WEEX has no public self-serve transfer page, so support's conditions apply. See the WEEX rebind guide.
The WEEX rebind steps, in brief:
Register again through the dedicated link with a phone number or email never used on WEEX, and check that the referral field is already filled in.
Bind the new account's UID on the rebate platform.
If the old account is verified and you want the new one verified too, contact support from the new account via the top-right of the WEEX app and submit what they ask for.
BingX
On BingX a bound referrer can't be changed or removed, so the official route is Identity Transfer: register a new account with FEEOTTER and don't verify it, then on the old account go to Personal Center → Identity Verification → Identity Transfer in the app and move your Advanced KYC across. Only accounts with Advanced KYC can transfer out, the receiving account must be unverified, and neither can transfer again for 180 days.
After the transfer the old account is back to unverified: it can only sell spot or close futures, and withdrawals are capped at 20,000 USDT per 24 hours, so move your assets out first. On the new account BingX automatically returns 45% of every fee to your BingX trading account, with no UID to bind. Every rate here is fee paid straight back to you. It excludes VIP fee tiers and platform-token discounts such as BNB or GT; those stack on top and only save you more.
At 500,000 USDT of futures a month, all taker: Bybit fees are 275 USDT, and after the rebind you get 110 USDT a month back; WEEX fees are 400 USDT, returning 280 USDT. Same ID, same trades: after switching to our code the rebate is 2 to 3.5 times a common 20% code. If you are already a VIP on an exchange and want to rebind or sign up with another exchange, contact support; we can help you apply for special trading benefits or a higher rebate rate.
Checklist before you transfer
The new account used the right code: FEEOTTER on Bybit, otter123 on WEEX, FEEOTTER on BingX. The rebate follows the code, not the KYC.
The new account is still unverified: on Bybit the receiving account must be unverified.
The old account's positions and funds are sorted: a KYC transfer doesn't move assets.
The new UID is bound on the rebate site: without it, the extra rebate never starts.
The order: register the new account with our code, transfer the KYC, then bind the UID. The late-entry and rebind rules for these two and the other exchanges are in the exchange rebind rules table.
No. Both move identity verification only; transfer assets yourself, and positions and copy trades stay put. Settle the old account first.
What rebate does the new account get?
Whatever the code it was registered with pays. Registered with our code (FEEOTTER on Bybit, otter123 on WEEX), it gets Fee Otter's rebate: 40% on Bybit, 70% on WEEX.
Can I transfer straight back if I get it wrong?
On Bybit, not for 180 days, so confirm the receiving account was registered with the right code before transferring.
Can other exchanges transfer KYC?
Bybit, WEEX and BingX are the ones we've confirmed. Other exchanges' rebind routes (new accounts, official rebind requests and so on) are in the guides below.
Does the referral code move with a KYC transfer?
No. The code, assets, email and phone number all stay on the old account, and the rebate follows the code the new account was registered with, so always register the new account with our code first.
Does a recently opened account need a KYC transfer?
Not necessarily. On Bybit, within 14 days of signup and with no referrer, you can add the affiliate code directly; WEEX has no public late-entry route, so just register again with a new phone number or email.
Of the two, which pays more after rebinding?
WEEX: 70% when bound through Fee Otter, 3.5 times a common 20% code. Bybit pays 40%.
Can I rebind if the old account never completed KYC?
Yes. WEEX doesn't require KYC, so register again with a new phone number or email; on Bybit the old account never used your ID, so complete KYC directly on the new account.
