Which of Ourbit and MEXC is cheaper depends on the contract you trade. On BTC, ETH and the other contracts MEXC currently has on promotion, MEXC wins: the taker fee is 0.02%, or 0.008% net after a 60% rebate, against 0.04% on Ourbit, or 0.012% net after 70%. On contracts at standard rates it flips, and Ourbit's 0.012% net taker beats MEXC's 0.016%. On spot, maker is 0% on both; taker is 0% on Ourbit and 0.05% on MEXC's major pairs (rates from both exchanges' official public APIs, checked 2026-10-17).
Ourbit pays the higher rebate. Sign up with referral code FEEOTTER and bind your UID, and Ourbit futures pay 70% (50% automatic rebate from the exchange + 20% extra rebate). MEXC with code mexc-FEEOTTER pays 60% (20% automatic rebate + 40% extra rebate). On 1,000 USDT of monthly fees, a typical 20% code returns 200 USDT; Ourbit returns 700 and MEXC 600.
The short version
- Both pay more than three times what a typical 20% code does: Ourbit's 70% is 3.5 times, MEXC's 60% is 3 times.
- Ourbit's automatic layer is much larger: Ourbit refunds 50% on its own, MEXC 20%. The rest comes from Fee Otter once you bind your UID.
- BTC and ETH futures: MEXC. BTC, ETH and SOL perpetuals on MEXC are currently 0% maker / 0.02% taker, so net taker is 0.008%, a third below Ourbit's 0.012%.
- Standard-rate contracts: Ourbit for taker orders, MEXC for maker orders. Net taker is 0.012% vs 0.016% (Ourbit lower); net maker is 0.006% vs 0.004% (MEXC lower).
- Ourbit spot is fee-free: all 883 pairs are 0% maker and taker. MEXC spot maker is 0% and taker on major pairs 0.05%, or 0.02% net after the 60% rebate.
- API and bot users, read MEXC's rule first: MEXC's affiliate FAQ says API trades no longer count toward commission, so MEXC API orders earn no rebate.
Rebate rates: Ourbit 70%, MEXC 60%
| Bound through Fee Otter | Ourbit | MEXC |
|---|---|---|
| Referral code | FEEOTTER | mexc-FEEOTTER (prefix included) |
| Layer 1: exchange automatic rebate | 50% | 20% |
| Layer 2: Fee Otter extra rebate | 20% | 40% |
| Total | 70% on futures (spot has no fee, so nothing to refund) | 60% on futures and spot |
| Against a typical 20% code | 3.5× | 3× |
Layer 1 goes straight back to your exchange account and never passes through Fee Otter. Layer 2 settles daily into your Fee Otter balance and is paid out as USDT on BEP20, minimum 1 USDT per request, with the 0.015 USDT network fee paid by you. The two layers are explained in automatic vs extra rebate, and every exchange's rate is in the rebate rate table.
Skip the UID binding and the gap widens. Without binding, Ourbit still refunds 50% automatically while MEXC refunds only 20%. Forty points of MEXC's 60% depend on binding, so bind your MEXC UID on Fee Otter after you sign up.
List fees: same futures taker, MEXC has promotional rates

Checked 2026-10-17 from both exchanges' official public APIs (Ourbit futures, Ourbit spot, MEXC futures, MEXC spot) · Methodology
- Ourbit's schedule is uniform. Its official announcement says all spot pairs have been fee-free since 2024-09-03 and futures stay at 0.02% maker and 0.04% taker (Ourbit announcement). Today's API figures match it.
- MEXC sets fees pair by pair. Promotional rates move: on 2026-09-27 we recorded ETH perpetuals at 0% / 0.01%; today they are 0% / 0.02%. MEXC's zero-fee page says some pairs have a quota and an end date, after which the standard rate applies, and that API users, market makers and institutional accounts are not eligible.
- MEXC spot depends on the pair. The zero-fee page says all spot pairs are fee-free, yet the public API returns 0.05% taker for BTC/USDT and ETH/USDT and 0.08% for most small caps. Your fills are what count; this article uses the API figures.

Net fees after the rebate
Formula: net rate = list rate × (1 − rebate rate).
| Scenario | Net maker | Net taker | 70% taker / 30% maker |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ourbit (70%) | 0.006% | 0.012% | 0.0102% |
| MEXC standard-rate futures (60%) | 0.004% | 0.016% | 0.0124% |
| MEXC promotional BTC, ETH (60%) | 0% | 0.008% | 0.0056% |
| For reference: Ourbit with a typical 20% code | 0.016% | 0.032% | 0.0272% |
Worked through: Ourbit taker = 0.04% × (1 − 70%) = 0.012%; MEXC standard taker = 0.04% × (1 − 60%) = 0.016%; MEXC BTC taker = 0.02% × (1 − 60%) = 0.008%. The same taker order on Ourbit costs 0.012% with our code and 0.032% with a typical 20% code, almost three times as much.
In money: 500,000 USDT a month, all taker
| Option | Monthly fees | Returned | Net monthly cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ourbit (70%) | 500,000 × 0.04% = 200 USDT | 140 USDT | 60 USDT |
| MEXC standard-rate futures (60%) | 500,000 × 0.04% = 200 USDT | 120 USDT | 80 USDT |
| MEXC promotional BTC, ETH (60%) | 500,000 × 0.02% = 100 USDT | 60 USDT | 40 USDT |
An altcoin futures trader pays 20 USDT a month less on Ourbit, 240 USDT a year. A trader who sticks to BTC and ETH pays 20 USDT a month less on MEXC. Bind both, route BTC and ETH to MEXC and everything else to Ourbit, and you get the lower net rate on each. Both rebates show up in the same Fee Otter dashboard.

Spot: Ourbit is fee-free, MEXC maker is 0% too
On 100,000 USDT of monthly spot taker volume, Ourbit charges nothing. On MEXC, BTC or ETH costs 100,000 × 0.05% = 50 USDT, or 20 USDT net after the 60% rebate; small caps at 0.08% come to 32 USDT net. Spot maker is 0% on both. Because Ourbit spot has no fee, it has no rebate either, so Ourbit's rebate comes entirely from futures.
API and bots: MEXC API orders earn no rebate
Section 1.5 of MEXC's affiliate FAQ says: "All trades made by users via API will no longer count toward commission" (checked 2026-10-17). API orders generate no commission, so neither the exchange's 20% automatic rebate nor Fee Otter's 40% extra rebate applies, and the zero-fee page excludes API users from zero fees. Running an API strategy on MEXC, count your fees at the full rate.
We did not find a rule on Ourbit's public pages about whether API trades count toward commission. For API trading there, go by your Ourbit account and the Fee Otter rebate ledger. Setup steps are in the MEXC API guide and the Ourbit API guide.
Adding a code late and rebinding: MEXC has a 30-day window, Ourbit only at signup
| Item | Ourbit | MEXC |
|---|---|---|
| Add a code after signup | No, only at signup | Within 30 days, main account, no referrer yet: self-service binding |
| Change a code once bound | No | No |
| Existing accounts | Re-register with an email or phone number never used on Ourbit | Re-register with a new email; one KYC allows up to 2 accounts |
MEXC's conditions are in its self-service referrer linking guide (the referrer must have registered before you; main accounts only). Steps are in the Ourbit rebind guide and the MEXC rebind guide; every exchange's rules are in the rebind rules table. Binding on Fee Otter only takes your UID, never an API key or password.
