For futures, Binance is the cheaper of the two: both list the same futures fees (0.02% maker, 0.05% taker), and bound with referral code FEEOTTER, Binance rebates 40% for a net taker cost of 0.03%. OKX is a 20% auto-rebate + exclusive rewards, which puts the same order at 0.04%, and its lower spot maker fee (0.08% vs 0.10%) no longer wins once rebates are counted (checked October 2026).
The short version
- List fees: futures are a tie (0.02% / 0.05%). OKX spot maker is 0.08%, 20% lower than Binance's 0.10%.
- Rebate structure: both exchanges return 20% automatically. When you bind through Fee Otter, Binance adds a 20% extra rebate, for 40% in total. OKX is a 20% auto-rebate + exclusive rewards.
- Against common referral codes: Binance's 40% via Fee Otter is twice a typical 20% code, and 1.6 times a 25% code.
- Net futures cost: after the rebate, a 0.05% taker fee becomes 0.03% on Binance versus 0.04% on OKX. On 500,000 USDT of monthly taker volume, Binance nets out at 150 USDT and OKX at 200 USDT.
- Tokenised US stocks: taking Binance's 198 TradFi perpetuals as the baseline, OKX covers 147. Daily crude oil (CL) turnover is 320 million USDT on Binance and 57.8 million on OKX.
- Existing accounts: Binance has an official 30-day window to add a code after signup, plus an official bind request page. OKX has no late-entry option; you rely on the 180-day inactivity recall or OKX's official rebind request.
List fees: a tie on futures, OKX ahead on spot maker
Start with the regular-user (VIP 0) schedules. A fee rebate is a percentage of the fee you pay, so this table is the base for every calculation below.
| Item | Binance | OKX | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spot maker | 0.10% | 0.08% | OKX lower by 0.02 pp |
| Spot taker | 0.10% | 0.10% | Tie |
| USDⓈ-M futures maker | 0.02% | 0.02% | Tie |
| USDⓈ-M futures taker | 0.05% | 0.05% | Tie |
| Platform-token discount | BNB: 25% off spot (0.075%), 10% off futures | OKB: no discount (official, 2026-09-09) | Only Binance has a token discount |
Fees verified on 2026-09-24 (each exchange's official fee schedule). · Methodology
Three things stand out:
- Futures traders cannot pick a winner on list fees. Maker and taker are identical, so the whole gap comes from the rebate.
- OKX's edge is spot maker only. 0.08% vs 0.10% means a spot trader who posts limit orders saves 20% before any rebate. Spot taker is 0.10% on both.
- BNB lowers Binance's fees further. Paying fees in BNB takes spot down to 0.075%, below OKX's spot maker, and takes another 10% off futures. OKX now sets fee tiers by assets or 30-day volume, and OKB can no longer be used to cut fees.

Rebate structure: both have a 20% auto layer; Binance adds an extra rebate
Both exchanges refund a 20% auto-rebate to your account (charged in full, refunded afterwards). Binance also has a 20% extra rebate, paid by the rebate site from the commission it receives.
| Layer | Binance | OKX |
|---|---|---|
| Layer 1: exchange auto-rebate | 20% | 20% |
| Layer 2: Fee Otter extra rebate | 20% | None (plus exclusive rewards and promotions; ask support) |
| Total when bound through Fee Otter | 40% | 20% (plus exclusive rewards and promotions) |
| Where layer 1 lands | Binance Spot account (USDC, converted hourly) | OKX account |
| Where layer 2 lands | Fee Otter available balance | n/a |
That first 20% is not automatic just because you entered a code. Under both exchanges' official rules the referrer decides how much to share: Binance allows 0%–20%, and so does OKX. Sign up with our code and the 20% comes back to you on both.
What that means in money on Binance: on 1,000 USDT of monthly fees, a common 20% influencer code returns 200 USDT and a 25% code 250 USDT. With our code you get 400 USDT, which is 2,400 USDT a year more than a typical 20% code.

The OKX column: OKX is a 20% auto-rebate + exclusive rewards; the 20% is refunded straight to your account. Every OKX comparison and calculation in this article uses 20%; for our exclusive OKX rewards and promotions, ask support.
Net futures cost: Binance is 0.01 pp cheaper per trade after the rebate
There is one formula: net rate = list fee × (1 − rebate rate). The two futures schedules are identical, so the gap is entirely the rebate.
| Scenario | Rebate | Net futures taker | Net futures maker | Net cost on 500,000 USDT monthly taker volume |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Binance · via Fee Otter | 40% | 0.05% × 0.60 = 0.03% | 0.02% × 0.60 = 0.012% | 250 − 100 = 150 USDT |
| OKX · via Fee Otter | 20% auto-rebate + exclusive rewards | 0.05% × 0.80 = 0.04% | 0.02% × 0.80 = 0.016% | 250 − 50 = 200 USDT |
At 500,000 USDT of monthly taker volume, both exchanges charge 500,000 × 0.05% = 250 USDT. The difference is what comes back: 100 USDT on Binance, 50 USDT on OKX. On Binance you pay 50 USDT a month less than on OKX, or 600 USDT a year.
For traders who mostly post limit orders the gap narrows but points the same way: net maker is 0.012% on Binance and 0.016% on OKX. Binance futures fees can also be cut another 10% with BNB, which this table leaves out. For the full method and other maker/taker mixes, see effective perpetual fees after rebate.
Net spot cost: how much of OKX's 0.08% edge survives
Spot is the only place OKX wins on list fees, so it deserves its own calculation. Same formula:
| Scenario | Net spot maker | Net spot taker |
|---|---|---|
| Binance (40%) | 0.10% × 0.60 = 0.06% | 0.10% × 0.60 = 0.06% |
| Binance + BNB discount (0.075%) | 0.075% × 0.60 = 0.045% | 0.075% × 0.60 = 0.045% |
| OKX · 20% (plus exclusive rewards and promotions) | 0.08% × 0.80 = 0.064% | 0.10% × 0.80 = 0.08% |
The result splits in two:
- Spot makers who do not use BNB: OKX nets 0.064% and Binance 0.06%. Binance's 40% rebate cancels OKX's list-fee edge, leaving a gap of 0.004 pp.
- Traders willing to pay in BNB: Binance spot drops to 0.075% first, then 40% comes back on the discounted fee, for a net 0.045%, below OKX's maker rate. For spot taker orders Binance (0.06%) is cheaper than OKX (0.08%) with or without BNB.
On 100,000 USDT of monthly spot limit orders: OKX nets out at 100,000 × 0.064% = 64 USDT, Binance at 60 USDT without BNB and 45 USDT with it. The gaps stay under 20 USDT. The spot maker fee gap is far smaller than the rebate gap on futures taker orders.
Tokenised US stock perpetuals: Binance leads by a wide margin on liquidity
Both exchanges list perpetuals on stocks, crude oil and gold (tokenised US stocks). They use the regular futures fee schedule, so the net futures costs above apply directly. What really separates them is listings and volume. Data from each exchange's public API, 20 September 2026:
| Item | Binance | OKX |
|---|---|---|
| TradFi perpetual coverage (baseline: Binance's 198) | 198 | 147 (74%) |
| CL (crude oil) 24h turnover | 320M USDT | 57.8M USDT |
| MSTR 24h turnover | 124M USDT | 20.9M USDT |
| SPY 24h turnover | 23.2M USDT | 0.9M USDT |
| NVDA 24h turnover | 18M USDT | 3M USDT |
| TSLA 24h turnover | 7.5M USDT | 1.9M USDT |
| AAPL 24h turnover | 5.1M USDT | 1.7M USDT |
| Net cost on 500,000 USDT monthly taker volume | 150 USDT (40%) | 200 USDT (20%) |
Binance leads on all six headline contracts, and on SPY its turnover is more than 25 times OKX's. Thinner volume means more slippage on large orders. On tokenised US stocks, the cost of the liquidity gap can outweigh the fee gap.
Binance has a separate fee table for TradFi perpetuals: Binance keeps tokenised stocks on their own official fee page, apart from regular USDⓈ-M futures. Under a current promotion, TradFi perpetual maker fees are 0 and taker fees apply as listed. Check Binance's official announcements for the terms and dates. Binance also lists Hong Kong stocks and some pre-IPO names that OKX does not.
There is another hidden cost larger than fees: funding. Over Binance's last 500 settlements, MSTR's funding rate had a standard deviation of 0.1348%, 28 times BTC's. CL settles every 4 hours, twice as often as 8-hour contracts. Funding applies on both exchanges and has nothing to do with rebates, so check it before holding a position. Full listing counts, volumes and funding statistics for every exchange are in tokenised stock perpetual fee comparison.
Products and ecosystem: scale versus Web3
- Scale and liquidity: Binance, live since 2017, has long ranked first by futures volume. For large orders and less popular contracts, depth is a cost.
- Where OKX is strong: its 0.08% spot maker is the lowest among the major fee-charging exchanges, and it runs its own Web3 ecosystem, which matters if you manage on-chain assets on the same platform.
- Proof of reserves: both publish proof of reserves regularly. Binance uses a Merkle tree plus zk-SNARKs; OKX publishes monthly using zk-STARK and a Merkle tree.
- Licences: OKX Europe holds a MiCA licence from Malta's MFSA; Binance's ADGM entities in Abu Dhabi are regulated by the FSRA.
- Rebate transparency: Binance is 40%. OKX is a 20% auto-rebate + exclusive rewards, and your actual credits are listed line by line on the rebate dashboard.
Adding a code late and rebinding: Binance has official windows, OKX relies on recall
This section matters most if you already have an account. On both exchanges, a referral link cannot be changed once it is set; the difference is what you can still do before that happens.
Binance: 30-day late entry plus an official bind request
- Add the code within 30 days of signup: if you have not deposited or traded and have no referrer, you can add our code under Binance's official rules (it must be a main account, and your KYC must not have been used on another account in the last 180 days).
- Official bind request (bind-ref): the account must be KYC-verified, have no other referral code, and have traded no more than 5,000 USD in the 90 days before you apply. After you submit, trade 150,000 USDT within the 30-day review window and the binding is completed once approved.
- Close the old account and move KYC after 35 days: register a new account with our code first, close the old one, and after 35 days the same KYC can move to the new account.
OKX: no late entry, so use recall or the official rebind
- No code after signup: per OKX's official help page, the code must be entered before the account is created and cannot be added or changed afterwards.
- 180-day inactivity recall: once the account has had no deposits, trades or logins for over 180 days, logging in through our link completes the recall, whether or not you had someone else's code before. Do not log in while you wait.
- OKX official rebind request: usually requires an account older than 90 days with 90-day volume below a threshold (OKX's official terms apply). After submitting, wait for review; leaving the account idle for 1–2 months first improves the approval rate.
- Close the account to release KYC: applies to users outside mainland China. If none of these work, contact support.
Fee Otter's code is an affiliate code on Binance, so the 12-month limit on futures kickbacks under Referral Pro Tier 0 does not apply. Step-by-step instructions are in the Binance rebind guide and the OKX rebind guide.
Which one fits you
- Mainly futures taker orders (day trading, scalping, breakouts) → Binance. Same 0.05% list fee, but 0.03% after the rebate, 25% below OKX's 0.04%.
- Tokenised US stocks, crude oil (CL) or MSTR → Binance. 198 contracts vs 147, higher turnover on every headline contract, and TradFi perpetuals currently have a zero maker fee promotion.
- Spot only, limit orders only, no BNB → about even. Net spot maker after the rebate is 0.064% on OKX and 0.06% on Binance.
- Spot traders happy to pay fees in BNB → Binance. BNB discount plus the rebate gives 0.045%, lower than OKX's maker rate.
- Heavy users of OKX's Web3 ecosystem → OKX, and ask support about our exclusive OKX rewards and promotions.
- Account under 30 days old with no deposit yet → Binance lets you add the code now; an existing OKX account can only use recall or a rebind.
- Want both → bind both. Run futures on Binance and spot limit orders on OKX, and track every rebate in one dashboard.

Frequently asked questions
Which has lower fees, Binance or OKX?
The list fees differ only on spot maker: 0.08% on OKX, 0.10% on Binance. Futures are 0.02% maker and 0.05% taker on both. After the rebate, when bound through Fee Otter, a Binance futures taker order costs 0.03%, while OKX at its 20% auto-rebate costs 0.04%, so futures traders pay less on Binance.
Are OKX spot fees really lower than Binance's?
Only on list fees. OKX's 0.08% spot maker becomes 0.064% after a 20% rebate; Binance's 0.10% becomes 0.06% after a 40% rebate, and 0.075% × 0.60 = 0.045% with BNB. Once rebates are counted, Binance is cheaper for both spot maker and taker orders.
How big is the rebate difference between Binance and OKX?
When bound through Fee Otter, Binance pays 40% in total. OKX is a 20% auto-rebate + exclusive rewards. On 500,000 USDT of monthly taker volume, you net out at 150 USDT on Binance and 200 USDT on OKX.
Which is better for tokenised US stocks, Binance or OKX?
Binance. Against Binance's 198 TradFi perpetuals, OKX covers 147. Daily crude oil turnover is 320 million USDT on Binance and 57.8 million on OKX, and SPY is 23.2 million vs 0.9 million. More volume means less slippage on large orders.
Can I add a referral code to an existing OKX account?
No. OKX codes can only be entered before the account is created. For an existing account, leave it idle for 180 days (no deposits, trades or logins) and log in through our link to be recalled, or submit OKX's official rebind request. See the OKX rebind guide.
Can I still add Fee Otter's code on Binance after signing up?
Yes, within 30 days of signup, before any deposit or trade, and only if you have no referrer. After that, use the official bind request, or close the account and move KYC.
Can I earn rebates on Binance and OKX at the same time?
Yes. Register on each with our code and bind both UIDs. All rebates show up in one dashboard, tracked separately per exchange. Binding only needs your UID, not an API key or password.
