Grid, arbitrage and cross-exchange strategies turn over huge volume, and since rebate = fees × rebate rate, a bigger fee base means a bigger rebate. On 5M USDT of monthly volume (perp taker 0.05%, ~2,500 USDT in monthly fees), binding through Fee Otter on Gate, WEEX, XT.COM or Ourbit returns 1,750 USDT a month, 3.5x the 500 a common 20% code returns (checked October 2026). The others return MEXC 1,500, Bitget/HTX/Pionex 1,250, Binance/Bybit 1,000 and OKX 500 USDT a month (OKX 20% auto-rebate + exclusive rewards).
Who is this for?
Anyone running spot or futures grids, market making, funding-rate arbitrage, or cross-exchange/cross-pair arb. Your edge comes from volume rather than big single wins, so fees are your most direct cost and the rebate is the most direct offset.
Why rebate matters most to high-turnover strategies
Arb and grid gross margins may be just a few basis points, and a round trip of fees can eat most of that. Returning 40% to 70% of fees lowers your breakeven directly, and some near-breakeven strategies only turn profitable once the rebate is added. You can check this with the formula above.
How much can you save? (high-turnover scenario)
At perp taker 0.05%, 5M USDT of monthly volume (~2,500 USDT in monthly fees), and each exchange's rebate rate, you get back per month:
- Gate 70%: 1,750/mo, about 21,000/yr
- WEEX 70%: 1,750/mo, about 21,000/yr
- XT.COM 70%: 1,750/mo, about 21,000/yr
- Ourbit 70%: 1,750/mo, about 21,000/yr
- MEXC 60%: 1,500/mo, about 18,000/yr
- Bitget 50%: 1,250/mo, about 15,000/yr
- HTX 50%: 1,250/mo, about 15,000/yr
- Pionex 50% (15% exchange auto-rebate + 35% Fee Otter extra rebate): 1,250/mo, about 15,000/yr
- Binance 40%: 1,000/mo, about 12,000/yr
- Bybit 40%: 1,000/mo, about 12,000/yr
- OKX 20% auto-rebate + exclusive rewards: 500/mo
Compared with a common 20% referral code: on 2,500 USDT of monthly fees, a typical code returns 500 a month; through Fee Otter, Gate/WEEX/XT.COM/Ourbit return 1,750 (3.5x), MEXC 1,500 (3x), Bitget/HTX and Pionex futures 1,250 (2.5x), Binance/Bybit 1,000 (2x). At 70%, that is 15,000 USDT more per year than a common code.

The grid bot math: every grid pays the fee twice
A grid bot buys low and sells high over and over inside a set range, and every completed grid is one buy and one sell, so it pays the fee twice. The tighter the grid, the larger the share of each grid's spread that fees eat. Take the spot example from the Pionex vs Bitget fee rebate comparison: with a 0.5% grid spread, Pionex costs 0.05% × 2 = 0.10%, or 0.05% after a 50% rebate, eating 10% of the spread; Bitget costs 0.10% × 2 = 0.20%, or 0.11% after a 45% rebate, eating 22%.
Futures grids mostly fill as limit (maker) orders. At a perp maker fee of 0.02%, one grid round trip costs 0.04%; the figure in brackets is the share of the grid spread lost to fees:
| Grid spread | Listed round-trip fee | With a typical 20% code | After Fee Otter 50% (Pionex, Bitget) |
| 0.2% | 0.04% (20%) | 0.032% (16%) | 0.020% (10%) |
| 0.5% | 0.04% (8%) | 0.032% (6.4%) | 0.020% (4%) |
Fees verified on 2026-09-24 (each exchange's official fee schedule: Pionex, Bitget, Gate) · Methodology
The tighter the grid, the more directly the rebate rate shows up in each grid's net profit. That is why the referral code should be in place before you start your first grid bot.
Monthly grid bot estimate: Pionex, Bitget, Gate
Pionex's built-in grid and DCA bots charge no subscription, only normal trading fees (see Pionex's official grid bot guide). Take a futures grid at 500 USDT per grid, 40 round trips a day, 30 days a month: 500 × 2 × 40 × 30 = 1.2M USDT of monthly volume. All three exchanges charge 0.02% perp maker, so monthly fees are 240 USDT. Monthly return (USDT):
| Exchange | Typical 20% code | Through Fee Otter |
| Pionex | 48 | 120 (50%) |
| Bitget | 48 | 120 (50%) |
| Gate | 48 | 168 (70%) |
If your bot mostly uses market orders, use the taker rate instead: the 0.05% perp taker on Pionex and Gate is 2.5 times the maker fee, so fees and rebates scale up 2.5 times; Bitget's 0.06% taker is 3 times. Run the same grid bound through Fee Otter and Pionex returns 120 USDT a month, against 48 USDT with a typical 20% code. For Pionex late entry and grid estimates, see the Pionex fee rebate guide.
Arbitrage: bind both sides
Cross-exchange arbitrage pays at least one fee on each side, and funding-rate arbitrage usually has two legs, spot plus perpetual. Bind the UIDs on both sides to Fee Otter and each side's fees count toward rebate separately, tracked per exchange. With 2.5M USDT of monthly volume on each side at perp taker 0.05%, Gate (70%) on one side and Binance (40%) on the other, each side pays 1,250 USDT a month and you get back 875 + 500 = 1,375 USDT; a typical 20% code returns only 500 USDT across both. See exchange fees and rebates compared for the full side-by-side.
Which exchange fits you?
The higher your turnover, the more the gap between rebate rates is amplified, so Gate (70%) has the edge if you want the most back. If your arb needs specific coin depth or funding rates, let the strategy decide and pick the highest rebate among the exchanges you can run on. If you use exchange-native grid bots: Pionex is a bot-native exchange with free built-in grid and DCA bots; through Fee Otter its futures and spot rebate is 50% (15% exchange auto-rebate + 35% Fee Otter extra rebate), 2.5x a common 20% code. Most grid orders fill as maker at lower rates, so the fee base is smaller, but the rebate rate is unchanged. Each exchange's rebate rate is in the table below:
How to start
Register on the exchange you run on with our referral code, then bind its UID on the rebate platform (Fee Otter). Registration guides: Gate, Bitget; to understand how maker/taker changes your cost, see Maker/Taker fees explained.
Sign up on Pionex, Gate or Bitget with our code (FEEOTTER on all three, already built into the referral link), then bind your UID on Fee Otter: see the Gate referral code, the Bitget referral code and the Pionex registration guide. If your grids already run on an old account, Pionex lets you add a code within 14 days of sign-up (72 hours if you have used a bot or placed an order); for other exchanges see the exchange late-entry and rebind rules, and for Bitget the Bitget rebind guide.
FAQ
Do grid-bot fees earn rebate?
Yes. Whether orders are manual or from a bot, any fee generated by your bound UID counts toward rebate.
Maker fees are low. Is a rebate still worth it?
Yes. A rebate returns a percentage of the fees you actually pay. With low maker fees the amount returned is lower, but the rate is unchanged, and at very high turnover the accumulated total is still substantial.
For cross-exchange arb, can I earn rebate on both sides?
Yes. Bind the UID on both exchanges and each side's fees count toward rebate separately.
How often is the rebate settled, and can I request a withdrawal right away?
It settles daily, and you can request a USDT withdrawal of your available balance anytime, which suits high-turnover strategies that need fast cost recovery.
How is OKX counted?
OKX is calculated at its 20% auto-rebate; contact support about our exclusive OKX rewards and promotions.
No. Pionex's built-in grid and DCA bots have no subscription fee and only pay normal trading fees; bound through Fee Otter, those fees earn 50% on both futures and spot (15% exchange auto-rebate + 35% Fee Otter extra rebate).
Should I run grids on Pionex or Bitget?
For mainly futures grids, choose Pionex: both pay 50% on futures, and Pionex's 0.05% perp taker is lower than Bitget's 0.06%. For spot grids, Pionex's spot rebate is 50% and Bitget's is 45%; if you hold BGB for a fee discount, compare the effective rates. The full estimate is in the Pionex vs Bitget fee rebate comparison.
