A rebate stacks on top of your VIP discount: VIP lowers the listed fee rate, and the rebate returns part of what you actually pay. On 10M USDT of monthly volume (perp taker 0.05%, about 5,000 USDT in fees), binding through Fee Otter returns 3,500 USDT a month on Gate, the same on WEEX, XT.COM and Ourbit, 3,000 on MEXC and KuCoin, 2,500 on Bitget, HTX and Pionex, 2,250 on BingX, and 2,000 on Binance and Bybit. OKX pays a 20% auto-rebate + exclusive rewards, or 1,000 (checked October 2026).
Compared with the common KOL referral codes you find online, the money gap is biggest for large traders: at 5,000 USDT of monthly fees, a common 20% code returns 1,000 and a 25% code 1,250; binding through Fee Otter returns 2,000 on Binance (2× a 20% code) and 3,500 on Gate (3.5×), or 12,000 to 30,000 USDT more a year. (Rebate table as of September 2026.)
Quick answer
- VIP and rebates stack: VIP lowers your listed fee; the rebate then returns part of what you actually paid.
- More than a common code: when bound through Fee Otter, Binance and Bybit pay 40% (2×), BingX 45% (2.25×), Bitget 50% (2.5×), MEXC and KuCoin 60% (3×) and Gate 70% (3.5×); OKX 20% auto-rebate + exclusive rewards.
- No tiers to climb: each exchange has one rebate rate, applied as soon as you bind.
- Bind your main exchange first, then route part of your volume to higher-rebate exchanges.
Who is this for?
High-volume traders doing several million USDT or more a month, possibly already at a VIP tier. You're already fee-sensitive, but many overlook that referral rebate and VIP discounts are two different things you can have at the same time.
Why rebate matters most to high-volume traders
VIP discounts lower your listed fee rate; a rebate returns part of the fees you actually paid, and the two layers are independent. The larger the fee amount, the more the same rebate rate is worth in dollars: at 5,000 USDT of monthly fees, Binance 40% alone returns about 24,000 a year, and Gate 70% about 42,000.
How much can you save? (high-volume scenario)
At perp taker 0.05%, 10M USDT of monthly volume (~5,000 USDT in monthly fees), and each exchange's rebate rate, you get back per month:
- Gate 70%: 3,500/mo, about 42,000/yr
- WEEX 70%: 3,500/mo, about 42,000/yr
- XT.COM 70%: 3,500/mo, about 42,000/yr
- Ourbit 70%: 3,500/mo, about 42,000/yr
- MEXC 60%: 3,000/mo, about 36,000/yr
- KuCoin 60%: 3,000/mo, about 36,000/yr
- Bitget 50%: 2,500/mo, about 30,000/yr
- HTX 50%: 2,500/mo, about 30,000/yr
- Pionex 50% (15% exchange auto-rebate + 35% Fee Otter extra rebate): 2,500/mo, about 30,000/yr
- BingX 45%: 2,250/mo, about 27,000/yr
- Binance 40%: 2,000/mo, about 24,000/yr
- Bybit 40%: 2,000/mo, about 24,000/yr
- OKX 20% auto-rebate + exclusive rewards: 1,000/mo

How do VIP discounts and rebates stack?
There is one formula: net fee = your VIP fee × (1 − rebate rate). The higher your VIP tier, the lower the listed fee; the rebate then returns part of that lower fee. Using VIP0 futures fees and 10 million USDT of monthly volume, all taker:
| Exchange | Futures maker/taker | Net taker, common 20% code | Net taker via Fee Otter | Monthly fees | Returned monthly via Fee Otter |
| Gate | 0.02%/0.05% | 0.04% | 0.015% (70%) | 5,000 | 3,500 |
| Bitget | 0.02%/0.06% | 0.048% | 0.03% (50%) | 6,000 | 3,000 |
| MEXC | 0.01%/0.04% | 0.032% | 0.016% (60%) | 4,000 | 2,400 |
| Bybit | 0.02%/0.055% | 0.044% | 0.033% (40%) | 5,500 | 2,200 |
| Binance | 0.02%/0.05% | 0.04% | 0.03% (40%) | 5,000 | 2,000 |
| OKX | 0.02%/0.05% | 0.04% | 0.04% (20% auto-rebate + exclusive rewards) | 5,000 | 1,000 |
Fees verified on 2026-09-24 (each exchange's official fee schedule: Binance, Bybit, Gate, Bitget, MEXC, OKX) · Methodology
Maker-heavy traders benefit the same way: Gate maker 0.02% × (1 − 70%) = 0.006%. VIP upgrades need more volume or platform-token holdings, while a rebate applies to every fee the moment you bind. For the full method, see the perpetual futures effective fee after rebate.
There are official exceptions: Bybit Pro tiers do not apply to affiliate/referral users; Bitget VIPs with 30-day spot volume ≥ 50M USDT or futures volume ≥ 100M USDT and an API trading share ≥ 20% are not eligible for the platform rebate policy; and WEEX says VIP perks cannot be combined with other discounts without stating whether referral rebates count, so check before binding (details in the crypto exchange VIP fee comparison).
Volume-routing strategy for large traders
- Bind your main exchange: depth and slippage come first, so make sure your main exchange is bound through Fee Otter.
- Secondary volume to high-rebate exchanges: Gate at 70% and MEXC at 60% suit part of your strategy volume; compare Binance vs Gate fee rebate and Bybit vs Gate fee rebate.
- Bind every UID separately: each exchange and account must be bound for its fees to count.
- Bot trading counts too: fees on API orders earn rebates as well; see the fee rebate guide for high-frequency traders.
Which exchange fits you?
At large size, the gap between rebate rates translates into serious money, so Gate (70%) returns the most on the same fees. But high-volume traders also value depth and slippage, so the sensible approach is: keep your main exchange and make sure it is bound for the rebate, then route some volume to a higher-rebate venue if it fits. Each exchange's rebate rate is in the table below:
How to start
Register or rebind your main exchange with the referral code (FEEOTTER on Gate, Bitget and Bybit, already built into the referral link), then bind its UID on the rebate platform (Fee Otter). If you already have an account, see each exchange's existing-user rebind guide; to see how rebates are calculated and paid out, see how fee rebates are settled.
Common mistakes of high-volume traders
- Thinking VIP makes a rebate unnecessary: they are separate mechanisms; taking only VIP leaves the second layer on the table.
- Assuming an old account cannot switch: most exchanges have a rebind route; see the Bybit rebind guide and the exchange rebind rules summary.
- Forgetting sub-accounts: on Binance, for example, the official Binance referral FAQ states that sub-account trading fees are credited to the master account's referrer.
- Comparing rates without doing the maths: at 5,000 USDT of monthly fees, 20% versus 70% is 2,500 USDT a month.
The hidden cost of large orders: when does slippage matter more than rebates?
A fee rebate saves you trading fees, but large orders carry another cost: slippage. The thinner the order book, the deeper a market order eats into it, and the further your average fill price drifts from the best price. To judge it, work out the net fee difference between two exchanges:
- Gate net taker is 0.015% and Binance is 0.03%, a gap of 0.015%. That is 1.5 USDT for every 10,000 USDT of notional, or 150 USDT on a single 1,000,000 USDT order.
- If the same order has more than 0.015% less slippage on Binance than on Gate, Binance ends up cheaper. For small orders on major coins, slippage is close to 0, so Gate keeps its full rebate advantage.
In practice, split your flow: put large orders and less liquid assets on the exchange with the best depth, and everything else on the exchange with the lowest net fee. Bind a rebate on both and check the details in one rebate dashboard.
Higher rates for large traders, and sub-accounts
High-volume users, holders of exchange VIP status, and those running trading strategies can contact support directly to apply for a higher rebate rate if their monthly fees are consistently several thousand USDT or more.
If you trade through sub-accounts, then when binding a rebate, submit your main account UID. If most of your trading happens in sub-accounts, contact support first to confirm attribution, so your fees are not left out of your account.
FAQ
I'm already a VIP. Can I still get a rebate?
Yes. VIP discounts and referral rebate are two independent mechanisms that apply at once: VIP lowers your rate, and the rebate returns part of the fees you actually paid.
Are large rebate payouts safe?
Rebate settles in USDT, and you can request a withdrawal anytime. For larger amounts, consider requesting payouts in batches and keeping records; support can help if you have any questions.
Can high volume get me a higher rebate rate?
Fee Otter has one rebate rate per exchange. High-volume traders and existing exchange VIPs can contact support to apply for special trading perks or a higher rebate rate, subject to what the platform shows in real time.
Can I spread across several exchanges and earn rebate on each?
Yes. Bind each exchange's UID separately and each one's fees count toward rebate on its own.
How is OKX counted?
OKX is calculated at its 20% auto-rebate; contact support about our exclusive OKX rewards and promotions.
How much more does a large trader get through Fee Otter than with a common 20% or 25% code?
2 to 3.5 times a 20% code. At 5,000 USDT of monthly fees, a 20% code returns 1,000 and a 25% code 1,250, while binding through Fee Otter returns 2,000 on Binance and 3,500 on Gate.
Do sub-account fees count toward the rebate?
On Binance, yes. Binance says sub-accounts cannot invite new users, but their trading fees are credited to the master account's referrer; for other exchanges, follow what the Fee Otter platform shows, or ask support.
These are estimates using reference rates; actual fees and rebates follow what each exchange and the Fee Otter platform display in real time. This article is information, not investment advice.
