At 200,000 USDT a day over about 20 trading days a month at a perp taker fee of 0.05%, a day trader pays about 24,000 USDT in fees a year; bound through Fee Otter on Gate (70%), you get back about 16,800 USDT a year, 12,000 USDT more than a typical 20% code (checked October 2026). Here's the math by volume.
Why day/high-frequency traders should bind a rebate
Frequent entries and exits mean many fee events adding up fast. You can't make the exchange stop charging fees, but a rebate reclaims a large share of what you've paid. The rebate rate applies to every fee, so the more you trade, the bigger the yearly saving.

Versus a typical 20% referral code: the yearly gap for day traders
Most KOL referral codes you can find online pay 20%, a few pay 25%. At the same 200,000 USDT a day (about 24,000 USDT of fees a year), here is the gap between binding through Fee Otter and a typical code (in USDT):
| Exchange (rebate rate) | Returned per year | Typical 20% code | Extra per year | Multiple |
| Gate 70% | 16,800 | 4,800 | 12,000 | 3.5x |
| MEXC 60% | 14,400 | 4,800 | 9,600 | 3x |
| Bitget 50% | 12,000 | 4,800 | 7,200 | 2.5x |
| Binance 40% | 9,600 | 4,800 | 4,800 | 2x |
| Bybit 40% | 9,600 | 4,800 | 4,800 | 2x |
At 200,000 USDT a day, binding Gate with our code returns 12,000 USDT more per year than a typical 20% code; even on a 40% exchange such as Binance or Bybit, you get 4,800 USDT more a year.
Effective rate after rebate: what each day trade really costs
Day traders mostly enter and exit with market orders, so they pay the taker rate. The table applies "net rate = taker × (1 − rebate rate)" to each exchange's VIP0 perpetual taker fee:
| Exchange | Perp taker | With a typical 20% code | With Fee Otter |
| Gate | 0.05% | 0.040% | 0.015% (70%) |
| Bitget | 0.06% | 0.048% | 0.030% (50%) |
| Binance | 0.05% | 0.040% | 0.030% (40%) |
| Bybit | 0.055% | 0.044% | 0.033% (40%) |
| OKX | 0.05% | 0.040% | 0.040% (20% auto-rebate + exclusive rewards) |
Fees verified on 2026-09-24 (each exchange's official fee schedule: Gate, Bitget, Binance, Bybit) · Methodology
Put it in daily terms: 50 round trips a day at 4,000 USDT each is 200,000 USDT of volume and 100 USDT of listed fees. With a typical 20% code you net out at 80 USDT; through Fee Otter on Gate you pay 30 USDT (200,000 × 0.015%). That is 50 USDT a day, or 1,000 USDT over 20 trading days. How much does your day-trading volume pay in fees each month?
At perp taker 0.05% and about 20 trading days a month, here are 30-day fees and the monthly return on Gate for each volume:
| Daily volume | 30-day fees | Returned monthly on Gate (70%) |
| 50,000 USDT | ~500 USDT | ~350 USDT |
| 200,000 USDT | ~2,000 USDT | ~1,400 USDT |
| 500,000 USDT | ~5,000 USDT | ~3,500 USDT |
There is no volume threshold, and Gate 70%, Bitget 50% and Binance 40% all beat a typical 20% code. If you are already a VIP on an exchange and want to rebind or register on another exchange, contact support: we can help you apply for special trading perks or a higher rebate rate.
Three common mistakes day traders make
- Opening the account first, looking for a code later. Most exchanges only accept a referral code at sign-up. Binance allows adding one within 30 days (no deposit, no trade, no existing referrer) and Bybit within 14 days (no existing referrer); OKX, Bitget and Gate have no public late-entry route. See the late-entry and rebind rules by exchange.
- Comparing rebate rates but not fees. At the same rebate rate, the exchange with the higher taker fee costs more: Bitget and Pionex both pay 50%, but with taker 0.06% vs 0.05% the net rates are 0.030% vs 0.025%.
- Registering but never binding the UID. After signing up with the code, bind your UID on Fee Otter so every rebate can be checked and paid out on request. The UID is your numeric account ID; see what a UID is and where to find it.
Day trading is the most fee-heavy way to trade: 100 USDT of fees a day is 24,000 USDT over 240 trading days. A typical 20% code returns 4,800 USDT of that; binding Gate with our code returns 16,800 USDT, so get the code right before your first trade.
High-frequency traders get paid daily
High-frequency traders generate fees every day, and Fee Otter settles daily, so you can request a USDT withdrawal anytime instead of waiting for month-end. See how fee rebates are settled.
How to start
Register with a referral code, bind your UID on the rebate platform (Fee Otter), then check it and request withdrawals daily. To compare exchanges, see the exchange rebate rate comparison.
If you don't have an account yet, sign up with a referral code and bind your UID today so rebates start from your first trade: use the Gate referral code (FEEOTTER) on Gate, FEEOTTER on Bybit and Bitget too, and for Binance see the Binance referral code page; Gate's fees are covered in the Gate fee rebate guide. Already have an account with no code or someone else's code? Move it under Fee Otter with the Binance rebind guide, Bybit rebind guide or Gate rebind guide.
FAQ
How is rebate calculated for high-frequency trading?
Same as always: rebate = fees × rebate rate. The difference is that high frequency means many fee events and a large total, so the yearly saving is especially large.
Does rebate affect my execution speed or slippage?
No. Rebate refunds fees afterwards (some exchanges use charge-then-refund) and doesn't change your orders, fills or prices, so it adds no latency to a high-frequency strategy.
Is there a minimum volume for day trading to earn rebate?
No threshold: any fees you generate earn a rebate; more volume just means a bigger amount back.
How soon can I request a withdrawal?
It settles daily, and you can request a USDT withdrawal anytime on the platform. See how rebate is settled.
How is OKX counted?
OKX is calculated at its 20% auto-rebate; contact support about our exclusive OKX rewards and promotions.
How much does the rebate differ between market and limit orders for day trading?
The rebate rate is the same; the fee base differs. On Binance and Gate, perp maker is 0.02% and taker 0.05%, so 200,000 USDT of volume costs 40 USDT with limit orders and 100 USDT with market orders; at Gate's 70% you get back 28 and 70 USDT respectively.
Which exchange should a day trader bind for rebates?
On cost alone, Gate pays 70%, for a net taker rate of 0.015%, the lowest in the tables above. If you already day-trade on Binance or Bybit and rely on their liquidity, 40% is still twice a typical 20% code, so there is no need to move; just make sure you are bound under Fee Otter. See the exchange fee rebate comparison.
