Gate Fee Rebate 2026: 70% Back on Your Trading Fees

Gate fee rebate via Fee Otter's code FEEOTTER: 70% back (20% auto + 50% extra), 3.5× a common 20% code. Fees, worked examples, GT deduction and rebinding.

Sign up with code FEEOTTER and bind through Fee Otter, and Gate returns 70% of your futures fees: 20% from the exchange plus a 50% extra rebate from Fee Otter (spot is 65%). That is 3.5x a common 20% code: on 1,000 USDT of monthly fees, a common code returns 200 and ours returns 700 (checked October 2026). This guide covers what a Gate rebate is, what you actually pay in fees, how much comes back, how to claim it, and how existing users rebind.

What is a Gate fee rebate? (charged first, returned later)

Gate charges first and returns later: you pay the fee at the moment of the trade, and the rebate comes back afterwards. The rate on the order ticket does not get cheaper because of the rebate; the savings arrive after the fact.

The rebate has two layers, and they come from completely different places:

LayerWho pays itRateRequirement
Layer 1: auto rebateGate20%Sign up with referral code
Layer 2: extra rebateThe rebate site (Fee Otter)50%Bind your UID on the rebate site

Layer 1 is not automatic just because you used a code. The referrer decides how much of it to pass on, and setting it to 0% is perfectly legitimate. Plenty of YouTuber and KOL codes are configured exactly that way: you still pay the full fee, and the entire 20% becomes their commission. Sign up with our code and the exchange pays that 20% back to you automatically. Layer 2 is a separate thing: the rebate site takes the commission it receives from the exchange and passes part of it back to you. Most KOLs keep this layer too. For how that layer works and why it can exceed 20%, see Auto rebate vs extra rebate and Why you can get more than a 20% rebate. The schedule, currency and mechanics of Layer 1 are Gate's to set; the official Gate referral documentation prevails.

This is the actual Gate signup page opened through our link, with the code already filled in. Plenty of codes that advertise high rebates come without a single screenshot, and people only find out after signing up that no rebate arrives. We put up each exchange's signup page or dashboard so you can check before you register.

First, know what you are paying: Gate's list fees

A rebate is a percentage of the fee, not of the notional you trade. Gate's list rates for regular users (VIP 0):

ProductMakerTakerWith GT deduction
Spot0.10%0.10%0.09% (about 10% off)
USDT-M futures0.02%0.05%Per official announcement

Three things people trip over:

  • The futures taker fee is 2.5× the maker fee. Every market order is a taker order. At the same notional, someone who works limit orders can pay around 40% of what a market-order trader pays.
  • Gate has more than one discount channel. Referral discounts, GT deduction and VIP tiers stack, so the rate actually charged is often below list. Our per-trade Gate detail shows exactly that: the same account on the same contract is not always charged at the same effective rate from one day to the next. The rebate is calculated on what you actually paid, not on the list rate.
  • VIP tiers are separate. Hitting a 30-day volume or GT-holding threshold lowers your rates independently of the rebate.

The table reflects VIP 0 list pricing as of September 2026 and Gate may change it; for current rates see the official Gate fee page.

How much can you get back?

Bound through Fee Otter, the combined Gate rebate is 70%: the 20% auto rebate plus a 50% extra rebate from Fee Otter. The table below lists the rate for each exchange.

What does that actually save you? Five worked examples

You do not need to be a big trader for our code to be worth using. Any other referral code gives you Layer 1, the 20%. Through Fee Otter, Gate pays 70%: same trades, same fees, 3.5 times as much back. This is among the widest gaps of the exchanges on this site (WEEX, XT.COM and Ourbit also pay 70%).

ChannelCombined Gate rebateRelative
A typical referral code / KOL20%baseline

Here is what different monthly fee totals return, with the rough notional behind each:

Monthly feesCombined rateReturned that monthEquivalent futures notional

1,000 USDT70%700 USDT~2m USDT
2,500 USDT70%1,750 USDT~5m USDT
5,000 USDT70%3,500 USDT~10m USDT

The notional column is back-solved from the 0.05% futures taker rate. Posting limit orders (0.02% maker) needs 2.5× the notional for the same fee total. Spot (0.1%) needs half the futures-taker notional.

Gate registration steps and how to bind your UID

New users, follow this order. If you already have a Gate account, skip to the rebinding section.

Step 1: register with the referral code

Register through the link on this site; it fills in our referral code, FEEOTTER, for you, so check that it is filled in before you submit. The wrong code is the same as no code. This step decides your Layer 1 20% auto rebate, and it cannot be added or changed after the account is open.

Step 2: complete KYC

Accounts without KYC are feature-limited and cannot generate a calculable rebate. Usually minutes to a day.

Step 3: find your Gate UID

Log in, click your avatar in the top right; the UID is a plain string of digits under your account name. It is the only thing binding requires: no API key, no password.

Step 4: bind the UID on the rebate site

Go to the Fee Otter rebate dashboard, choose Gate, paste the UID and submit. We reconcile it against the invitee list the exchange reports to us, and it goes live once matched.

Step 5: trade, then check the books

From then on your daily fees and rebates post automatically, visible in near-real time, and you can request a withdrawal at any time.

When does the rebate arrive?

How long is the "later" in "charged first, returned later"? The actual timeline:

Point in timeWhat happens
At the tradeGate charges the fee
Around T+1The exchange produces the previous day's trade and commission detail
After it landsWe import it, match each row to your UID, compute the rebate
After postingYour available balance on the rebate site increases; visible, with withdrawals on request

That path describes the Layer 2 extra rebate. The Layer 1 20% travels through Gate's own plumbing and follows different rules:

ItemGate's official 20% (Layer 1)Fee Otter extra rebate (Layer 2)
Who pays itGate, no application neededFee Otter
Where it landsYour Gate accountYour Fee Otter available balance
Settlement cycle and currencyPer Gate's own rules (see the link below)Denominated in USDT, around T+1
Where to checkGate account statement / referral recordsThe rebate dashboard, row by row

Layer 1's settlement cycle, currency and payout route are Gate's to set and may change; see the Gate referral FAQ. Two details that catch people out:

  • Only trades that actually generate a fee count. A trade with no fee produces no rebate and no volume credit.
  • The two amounts live in different places. The official 20% goes to your Gate account; the extra rebate goes to your available balance on the rebate site. If one looks missing, check which side you are looking at.

Already have a Gate account? Rebind to claim rebates

A Gate referral code can only be entered at signup. After the account exists it cannot be added and the referrer cannot be changed. Existing users have to "rebind" the account to our code. For the full conditions, steps and risks see the Gate rebinding guide.

Four mistakes people make

  • Leaving the code out at signup. Gate only takes a referral code at registration (ours is FEEOTTER); a missing code is the same as no code, and it cannot be undone.
  • Expecting the order-ticket fee to drop. The rebate does not change the displayed rate; GT deduction and VIP tiers do, and those are a different mechanism.
  • Binding the wrong UID. The UID is a numeric account ID, not a nickname or email. Sub-account commission rolls up to the master account's UID, so binding the master account is enough.
  • Treating the two layers as one payment. The official 20% goes to the exchange account, the extra rebate to your available balance on the rebate site. Check them separately.

How is this different from a KOL or another rebate site?

What you usually see advertised is a "20% fee discount", which is Layer 1, the auto rebate. But whether you get that 20% at all is the referrer's setting, and many codes simply have it switched off, so every cent of your fee becomes their commission. Four things separate the offers:

  • Whether Layer 1 actually reaches you. With our code that 20% always lands in your account. Some codes are set to 0% and you get nothing.
  • Whether Layer 2 is shared. We share it, and on Gate that layer is 50%, the thickest of any exchange we support, published in the table above.
  • Whether the books are auditable. Every fee and every rebate is listed row by row instead of one number at month end.
  • Whether you actually get paid. You can request a withdrawal of your available balance at any time, with no minimum-threshold lockup.

How Gate compares

Risks to know before using Gate

Gate’s rebate terms are good, but know these risks before you deposit:

  • Licences belong to specific regional entities: Gate Group’s Maltese company obtained an EU MiCA licence in September 2025 (MiCA register) and its Dubai company a Dubai VARA licence in April 2025 (VARA public register). Those licences cover users of those entities; an account opened on the global site may fall under a different operating entity with different protections, so read the terms when you sign up.
  • Third-party rating: CoinGecko gives Gate a trust score of 10/10; the score weighs volume legitimacy, liquidity, cybersecurity and past incidents, and is not a guarantee for your assets.
  • Don’t keep long-term or large balances on the exchange: keep only the funds you are actively trading; withdraw money you aren’t trading and anything you hold long term.
  • Use a cold wallet for long-term holdings: move large, long-term assets to a hardware cold wallet (such as a Ledger) and keep them offline.
  • Futures and high leverage are high risk: the higher the leverage, the easier it is to be liquidated. Beginners should avoid high leverage and learn the rules with small amounts first.

FAQ

What is Gate's referral code?

It is FEEOTTER, already built into the link on this site.

What is the Gate rebate rate?

Bound through Fee Otter, futures pay 70% combined (20% auto + 50% extra) and spot pays 65% (20% auto + 45% extra).

Why is Gate's rebate so much higher than the other exchanges?

Because Gate's affiliate share is itself higher than elsewhere, and we pass the difference down. That is also why the same amount of fees returns the most absolute value on Gate.

When is the Gate rebate paid?

The official 20% is returned to your exchange account under Gate's own rules. The extra rebate is imported, matched and posted to your available balance on the rebate site after the exchange's daily report, typically from T+1 onwards.

Is this safe? Can you touch my assets?

Binding needs only your UID: no API key, no password, no withdrawal permission. Your assets stay in your own Gate account; the rebate site neither custodies nor can move them.

I signed up without a code. Can I still get rebates?

Yes, but through rebinding, not by adding the code. See the rebinding guide.

Does GT deduction reduce my rebate?

The absolute amount falls, because the rebate is calculated on what you actually paid. Your total cost is still lower: a discount first, then more than 60% of the remainder back, beats no discount at all.

Is the rebate rate the same for spot and futures?

Not quite: futures pay 70% combined and spot 65%. The underlying fee rates also differ a lot (spot 0.1%, futures taker 0.05%), so the same notional generates different rebate amounts.

How is the rebate calculated?

It is the fees you actually paid, in USDT, multiplied by the rebate rate, which is 70% on Gate futures. See How the fee rebate is settled.

I trade a lot. Can I get a higher rate?

Contact support. If you are already a VIP on an exchange and want to rebind or sign up with another exchange, we can help you apply for special trading benefits or a higher rebate rate.

Is there a withdrawal minimum?

There is no lockup. Your available balance accrues on the rebate site, and you can request a withdrawal whenever you like.

Do sub-account fees count?

Yes. Sub-account trading commission is attributed to the master account's UID, because that is how the exchange's commission report is structured. Bind the master account UID and everything your sub-accounts generate is included, with no separate binding needed.
