HTX Fee Rebate 2026: 50% Futures, 45% Spot

HTX fee rebate via Fee Otter with code FEEOTTER: 50% on futures, 45% on spot, 2 to 2.5x a typical 20% code. 0.2% spot drops to 0.11%. Worked examples and binding.

Bind through Fee Otter and the HTX (formerly Huobi) fee rebate is 50% on futures and 45% on spot: HTX pays 30% automatically, and Fee Otter adds 20% on futures and 15% on spot. On 1,000 USDT of monthly fees, a typical 20% code returns 200 USDT, while referral code FEEOTTER returns 500 USDT (checked October 2026).

Most referral codes you'll find online pay only 20% (some 25%); sign up with our code, FEEOTTER, and bind your UID, and you get 2 to 2.5 times a typical 20% code. If you are already a VIP on an exchange and want to rebind or sign up on another one, contact support and we can help you apply for special trading perks or a higher rebate rate.

The part of HTX worth working out carefully is spot: spot maker and taker are both 0.2%, tied with XT.COM as the highest among the exchanges we cover. The higher the fee, the more a rebate gives back. On 100,000 USDT of spot volume a month, you pay 200 USDT in fees; a typical 20% code returns 40, ours returns 90. This guide lays out the numbers for both spot and futures.

Quick takeaways

  • Referral code: FEEOTTER; the dedicated link fills it in.
  • Rebate: when you bind through Fee Otter, futures 50% and spot 45%, which is 2 to 2.5 times a typical 20% code.
  • Spot is where it shows most: the 0.2% spot fee becomes 0.11%; with a typical 20% code it's 0.16%.
  • Futures: the 0.06% taker fee drops to 0.03%. HTX restricts derivatives in some regions (see the futures section).
  • Existing users: HTX has no public way to add a code later, and a bound code can't be changed. If you already have an account, rebind by registering a new one through our link; see the HTX rebind guide.

What kind of exchange is HTX?

HTX started out as Huobi, founded in 2013, and announced its rebrand to HTX on 13 September 2023; see the official HTX rebrand announcement. Along with Gate, it is the longest-running of the exchanges on this site.

According to HTX's official public API (checked 2026-09-24), about 604 spot pairs are live and 357 USDT-margined contracts are trading. Products include spot, margin, USDT-margined and coin-margined futures, copy trading, trading bots and Earn. HTX publishes Merkle-tree proof of reserves and has released reports for 44 consecutive months; the June 2026 report showed a BTC reserve ratio of 103% and ETH of 100%.

Three notes:

  • 0.2% spot is twice what the major exchanges charge (Binance, Bybit, Bitget and Gate are all 0.1%). It is HTX's biggest cost item, and the place a rebate does the most work.
  • Token deduction: per the official HTX announcement, paying with HTX or TRX takes 25% off spot fees (0.2% → 0.15%); on futures HTX deduction takes up to 10% off and TRX 5% off. Only one of the two can be active at a time.
  • Prime levels: HTX assigns Prime levels by 30-day volume and holdings, and fees fall as you move up; the official announcement gives Prime 3 spot as 0.1%. The examples below all use Prime 0; your actual rate is whatever your account shows, and the rebate percentage applies either way.

How futures fees are calculated is explained in HTX's official USDT-margined futures fee guide.

How the HTX rebate works

The rebate is charged first, refunded later: you pay the full fee when you trade, and part of it comes back afterwards. When you bind through Fee Otter there are two layers:

LayerPaid byRateCondition
Layer 1: automatic rebateHTX (as set on the code)30%Sign up with the code
Layer 2: extra rebateRebate platform (Fee Otter)Futures 20%, spot 15%Bind your UID on the rebate site

The two layers add up to the total. Layer 2 is calculated and paid by Fee Otter; the mechanics are explained in automatic vs extra rebates.

We set the exchange-side automatic rebate to the highest the exchange allows. That layer is settled by the exchange automatically, without going through Fee Otter. Below is our HTX affiliate backend setting for the code: the friend spot and futures reward ratios are both 30%.

The HTX code is FEEOTTER, built into the dedicated link. The "Referral Code (Optional)" field on the sign-up page is collapsed by default, so expand it and check that it shows FEEOTTER before submitting; signing up through this article's link fills it in for you.

Rebate rate

When you bind through Fee Otter, HTX futures pay 50% (30% automatic from the exchange + 20% extra from Fee Otter) and spot pays 45% (30% + 15%):

Spot: where the HTX rebate matters most

Using the Prime 0 spot rate of 0.2% (maker and taker alike):

Monthly spot volumeMonthly feesTypical 20% codeFee Otter (45%)Extra per year vs a typical code
10,000 USDT20 USDT4960
50,000 USDT100 USDT2045300
100,000 USDT200 USDT4090600
500,000 USDT1,000 USDT2004503,000

(The last column is 45% minus 20%. At higher volumes you may reach a higher Prime level, which lowers the fee base; the rebate amounts shrink in proportion.)

Effective rates make it clearer. On the same HTX spot account you pay 0.2% with no code, 0.16% with a typical 20% code and 0.11% with our code. On HTX spot, the right referral code cuts your 0.2% fee by almost half.

At 100,000 USDT of spot volume a month, a typical 20% code returns 480 USDT a year and ours returns 1,080 USDT, 600 USDT more. You don't change anything about how you trade; it depends only on the code you entered at sign-up.

Futures: rebate examples and regional restrictions

Assuming 70% taker and 30% maker, the blended futures rate is 0.7 × 0.06% + 0.3 × 0.02% = 0.048%:

Monthly futures volumeMonthly feesTypical 20% codeFee Otter (50%)
100,000 USDT48 USDT9.624
500,000 USDT240 USDT48120
2,000,000 USDT960 USDT192480
5,000,000 USDT2,400 USDT4801,200

The 0.06% futures taker fee becomes 0.048% with a typical 20% code and 0.03% with our code. At 50%, the futures rebate halves your taker cost and pays 2.5 times a typical 20% code.

A note on regions: under the HTX User Agreement (updated September 2026), derivatives are not available in several regions, and users in Hong Kong and mainland China are excluded from HTX entirely. The futures examples above apply where HTX derivatives are available.

How to bind the HTX rebate

  1. Open the HTX sign-up page through the referral link and choose email or phone.
  2. Expand the "Referral Code (Optional)" field, confirm it shows FEEOTTER, then finish verification and set a password.
  3. Complete KYC as needed: HTX has three levels. Withdrawals work without KYC up to 2 BTC per day, and L1 basic identity details make them unlimited; L2 (ID upload) and L3 (face recognition) raise your limits.
  4. Bind your HTX UID on the Fee Otter rebate site. Only the UID is needed, not an API key or password.
  5. Start trading. Once fees are generated, rebates accrue, and you can check them and request withdrawals on the rebate site.

This is the actual HTX signup page opened through our link, with the code already filled in. Plenty of codes that advertise high rebates come without a single screenshot, and people only find out after signing up that no rebate arrives. We put up each exchange's signup page or dashboard so you can check before you register.

The exchange's daily report is imported and each trade matched to your UID; the rebate usually lands from T+1. Fee Otter pays the extra rebate as on-chain USDT on BNB Smart Chain (BEP20) to an address you own, which can be your HTX USDT deposit address on the BEP20 network. Settlement details are in how fee rebates are settled.

Already have an HTX account?

HTX has no public way to add a referral code after sign-up, and a bound code can't be changed. If you already have an HTX account that wasn't registered with our code, rebind by registering a new account through our signup link: withdrawals work without KYC up to 2 BTC per day, and L1 basic verification makes them unlimited. See the HTX rebind guide. Other exchanges' add-later and rebind rules are collected in exchange rebind rules at a glance.

How is this different from a typical KOL code?

HTX's own rules state that when a referrer creates a custom code, they set the share passed on to invitees, and how much is up to them.

When you bind through Fee Otter, our code gives 50% on futures and 45% on spot.

Who should take the HTX rebate?

  • Spot traders who already use HTX: the 0.2% spot fee is your biggest cost, and with our code it falls to 0.11%. At 100,000 USDT of spot a month, that's 50 USDT more than a typical code.
  • Futures traders in regions where derivatives are available: 50% back, a 0.03% effective taker fee.
  • Traders chasing the lowest possible spot fee: 0.11% after rebate is still above some exchanges' list rates, so compare with the fee rebate guide for spot investors before deciding where to trade most.

If you've decided to trade on HTX, sign up through our link and bind your UID: the futures rebate is 50% and spot is 45%. Code details are in the HTX referral code guide.

Risks to know before using HTX

Know these risks before you deposit:

  • UK sanctions: on 26 May 2026 the UK government designated Huobi Global S.A., the entity operating HTX, under its Russia sanctions regime (UK government notice, CoinDesk). UK residents are bound by those sanctions and should not use it; users elsewhere should watch for knock-on effects.
  • Past hot-wallet theft: in November 2023 HTX and Heco Chain were exploited; Justin Sun said HTX would fully cover losses on the exchange side (CoinDesk).
  • Registration and ratings: HTX was founded in 2013 and is registered in Seychelles, outside major financial regulators; its CoinGecko trust score is 7/10.
  • Don't keep long-term or large balances on the exchange: keep only the funds you are actively trading on HTX; withdraw money you aren't trading and anything you hold long term.
  • Use a cold wallet for long-term holdings: move large, long-term assets to a hardware cold wallet (such as a Ledger) and keep them offline.
  • Futures and high leverage are high risk: beginners should avoid high leverage and learn the rules with small amounts first.

FAQ

How much is the HTX fee rebate?

When you bind through Fee Otter, 50% on futures and 45% on spot. Of that, 30% is the exchange's automatic rebate and the rest is paid by Fee Otter.

What is the HTX referral code?

The code is FEEOTTER. The dedicated link fills it in for you.

Are HTX spot fees expensive?

Yes. At Prime 0, spot maker and taker are both 0.2%, tied with XT.COM as the highest among the exchanges we cover. With our code your effective rate drops to 0.11%, and HTX or TRX deduction takes a further 25% off the list rate.

Can everyone trade HTX futures?

No. The HTX User Agreement restricts derivatives in several regions, and Hong Kong and mainland China are excluded entirely, so check the rules for where you live. Users who can't trade futures can still use spot, which earns a 45% rebate.

I already have an HTX account. Can I still add the code?

HTX has no public add-later option, and a bound code can't be changed. To rebind, register a new account through our link; see the HTX rebind guide.

When does the HTX rebate arrive?

Usually from T+1 in your Fee Otter available balance, with every line item visible, and you can request a withdrawal as USDT on BNB Smart Chain (BEP20), for example to your HTX deposit address on that network.

Does the rebate conflict with HTX deduction or Prime levels?

No. Deduction and Prime levels lower the list rate, while the rebate returns part of the fees you actually generate. They work together.

ⓘ Rates not marked as spot are for futures; spot: HTX 45%, Bitget 45%.
