WEEX copy trading automatically mirrors an elite trader's futures opens and closes. As a copier you set a fixed 10 to 10,000 USDT per trade or a fixed ratio of 0.01x to 100x, with take-profit and stop-loss up to 400%. The trader takes a 10% to 20% profit share from your net profit after fees, settled daily at midnight (checked October 2026).
This guide draws on the WEEX help center's copy trading articles and the public data on its copy trading page: the range of every copier setting, why copies fail, how profit share is held and settled, what it takes to become an elite trader, and a worked example of fees and profit share on one copied trade. Every copied open and close pays a futures fee. Sign up with our referral code otter123 and bind through Fee Otter for a 70% futures rebate, 3.5 times a common 20% code.
Key points
- Runs on futures: copy trading is funded from the Futures Pro account, and every setting WEEX documents is for futures pairs.
- Amounts: fixed 10 to 10,000 USDT per trade, or a fixed ratio of 0.01x to 100x; the overall copy cap can be set from 10 to 100,000 USDT.
- Risk controls: take-profit and stop-loss ratios from 0 to 400%, slippage from 0.1% to 1%; a trade beyond your slippage is not copied.
- Profit share: 10% by default and up to 20% on Copy Trading Pro, charged on copier profit minus fees; losing trades pay none.
- Timing: WEEX says the trader's order and your copy happen at the same time, though the trader's history only refreshes on the list hourly.
Copier settings and their ranges
From the official copier settings guide: tap "Copy Trading" on the home page, pick a trader, read and accept the copy trading agreement, then tap "Copy" to reach the settings.
| Setting | Options / range |
|---|---|
| Pairs | Choose from the futures pairs the trader has opened for copying |
| Leverage mode | Your own futures leverage, the trader's leverage, or custom |
| Margin setting | Uniform for all pairs, or separate per pair |
| USDT (fixed) | 10 to 10,000 USDT of margin per trade |
| Ratio (fixed) | 0.01x to 100x |
| Take-profit / stop-loss ratio | 0 to 400% |
| Slippage ratio | 0.1% to 1%; trades beyond it are skipped |
| Maximum copy amount | 10 to 100,000 USDT |
If the trader already holds a position when you start, you do not join it; copying begins with their next open. Copy trades use the same futures margin account as your own positions, so the risk is shared.
Why a trade was not copied
The reasons WEEX lists:
- The trader has reached the copier limit, or their elite status was revoked.
- You are an elite trader yourself (traders cannot copy others).
- Your futures account has no assets or not enough available funds, or your copy amount and leverage settings do not fit your balance.
- Your copy position, or the trader's elite position, has hit its limit.
- The trader's order did not fully fill: if they ordered 10 BTC and 9 BTC filled, that trade is not copied.
- The entry price moved past your slippage setting.
How profit share works
From the official elite trader profit share article:
Profit share = (copier profit − fees) × profit share rate
- Rate: the help center gives 10% of copier net profit, and the Copy Trading Pro launch raised the ceiling to 20%. The copy trading page currently shows traders at 10%, 15% and 20%, so check the trader card before you copy.
- Held in advance: when the trader closes and your copy is in profit, the share is deducted from your account up front.
- Settlement: at midnight each day it is recalculated from your actual total profit for the day and paid out between 00:00 and 00:10; anything over-deducted comes back to you.
- Open positions delay it: if you still hold copied positions linked to that trader, settlement waits until they are all closed, then profits and losses are netted the next day.
Copy trade payouts, refunds and trader income appear in your futures transaction history.
One copied trade: fees, profit share and rebate
Say you copy with a fixed 500 USDT of margin at the trader's 10x, a 5,000 USDT position, opened and closed with market orders (0.08% taker), for a 200 USDT gain:
| Item | USDT |
|---|---|
| Open + close fees (5,000 × 0.08% × 2) | 8 |
| Net profit (200 − 8) | 192 |
| Trader's share at 10% / 20% | 19.2 / 38.4 |
| What you keep at 10% / 20% | 172.8 / 153.6 |
| Fees refunded at Fee Otter's 70% | 5.6 |
Losing trades pay no profit share but still pay fees, so the more often a trader opens and closes, the more you spend on fees. Whether copy trading fees count toward the rebate is shown in your rebate statement. If you are already a VIP on an exchange and want to rebind or sign up on another one, contact support and we can help you apply for special trading benefits or a higher rebate rate.
Choosing a trader
- Look at copier PnL, not just the trader's own: trader cards show 3-week trader PnL, copier PnL and win rate. A big gap between the first two is a warning sign.
- Check the profit share: with the same results, 20% costs you twice what 10% does.
- Check copier slots: a full trader cannot be copied, and many copiers mean larger orders and possibly more slippage.
- Mind the window: win rate and returns mostly cover the last 3 weeks and refresh hourly. Short-term numbers say little about the long run.
Becoming an elite trader
From the official elite trader requirements and trader operations FAQ:
- When applying, your futures accounts (demo included) must have no positions, pending orders or trigger orders, and you cannot be copying anyone. One person, one elite trading account.
- No KYC is needed to become a trader. Your nickname cannot be changed once set, and nickname and bio may not show social accounts or contact details.
- To appear in the list, your Futures Pro equity must exceed 500 USDT and you must complete at least one open and close.
- Elite trade size: at least 10 times the minimum order size for BTC and ETH, and 2 times for other coins.
- Each pair has a 100,000 USDT margin limit for elite trades; beyond that, new positions are not copied (official note).
- Elite positions can only be closed at market, not with trigger orders.
Before you copy
WEEX's own copy trading article points out that copying does not remove risk: past results do not predict future ones, so look at a trader's risk management and size your funds sensibly. Leverage, liquidation and funding work as in regular futures; see the WEEX futures guide. Fee Otter calculates rebates from your UID only. We never ask for API keys and never trade or copy on your behalf.
