Comparing futures copy trading on Binance, Bitget, Bybit, OKX, MEXC, BingX, Ourbit and WEEX: minimums run from 10 USDT (Binance, and WEEX per order) to 100 USDT (Bybit). Lead traders' profit share on public portfolios is capped at 15% to 32% (Ourbit: as shown on the page), and private or invite-only portfolios can go to 50% to 99%. Some settle daily and some weekly. Bitget states that it uses a high-water mark, and Binance's profit share formula has the same effect. Only Binance's FAQ says outright that copy trading fees count toward referral commission; the others don't address copy trading specifically (verified October 2026).
When people pick a lead trader, most look at the profit share first, and 10% versus 20% looks like a big gap. But every time the lead trader opens and closes, you pay the opening and closing fee at your own rate. A lead trader who trades in and out dozens of times a month often costs you several times more in fees than in profit share. Below we put the rules side by side, then work through the same 1,000 USDT on three exchanges.
Futures copy trading rules on eight exchanges
This table covers futures copy trading only. "Profit share" is the percentage the lead trader takes from your copy trading profit, which is separate from the fees the exchange charges.
| Exchange | Minimum | Copy modes | Public portfolio profit share | Settlement | High-water mark |
| Binance | 10 USDT (lead trader can raise it), up to 300,000 USDT | Fixed amount, fixed ratio | Up to 30% (by lead trader level) | Mondays 08:00 (UTC+8) | Formula has the same effect (realized + unrealized PnL × ratio − already shared) |
| Bitget | 50 USDT (lead trader can raise it) | Fixed ratio, fixed margin | 10% to 20% (by level) | Daily 00:00 (UTC+8) | Yes |
| Bybit (classic copy trading) | Generally 100 USDT (master can require more) | Smart copy, advanced copy | 10% to 15% (by level) | Mondays 03:00 (UTC) = 11:00 (UTC+8) | Not stated for classic; wins and losses net within each cycle, and the pre-deducted share is refunded on a net loss |
| OKX | Fixed amount from 10 USDT per order | Fixed amount, by ratio (0.01 to 100×), smart sync | Up to 30% (by level) | Mondays 00:00 (UTC+8) | No cross-week rule stated; wins and losses net within each week |
| MEXC | 30 USDT | Smart ratio, fixed amount, fixed multiple | Up to 15%, default 10% | Daily 16:00 (UTC) = 00:00 (UTC+8) | Yes (realized profit only; cumulative profit since the last share must be above 0) |
| BingX | Fixed amount from 20 USDT per trade | Fixed ratio, fixed amount | 10% to 32% (by level) | Weekly | Not stated |
| Ourbit | No fixed minimum published; must meet the contract's minimum order size | Smart ratio, fixed amount, fixed multiple | As shown on the page | Not published | Not published |
| WEEX | Fixed amount of 10 to 10,000 USDT per order | Fixed amount, fixed ratio (0.01 to 100×) | Help center says 10%; futures Pro copy trading up to 20% | Daily (at midnight the next day) | No cross-day rule stated; wins and losses net within the day |

Every copied order is a futures trade in your own account, and the fee is charged at your own VIP rate. Bybit, OKX, MEXC and Ourbit all state that copy trading carries no markup and the rate is the same as trading yourself. For the exchanges that don't say whether copy trades earn rebates, check your settlement records once you start copying.
Settlement frequency and high-water marks: what changes
With the same lead trader and the same performance, a different settlement method changes how much profit share you pay.
- High-water mark (Binance, Bitget; MEXC counts realized profit only): the share is taken only on the part of cumulative profit above the previous high. Profit that just wins back an earlier loss is not charged a second time.
- Netting within each cycle (Bybit classic, OKX): wins and losses in the same week offset each other and only the net profit is shared; on a net loss for the week, the pre-deducted share is refunded. Neither says whether one week's loss carries into the next.
- Profitable positions only (BingX): our BingX copy trading article says, based on BingX's performance explanation, that the weekly share is taken only from closed, profitable positions. We did not re-check this on the rule pages read this time.
Example: four weeks of PnL at −30, +50, +40 and +20 make a net profit of 80 USDT, with a 10% share. If losses carry forward, the whole stretch is charged 8 USDT. If each week is settled on its own, the three winning weeks total 110 USDT and all of it is charged 10%, or 11 USDT. The two methods differ by 3 USDT, far less than the gap in fees between the three exchanges in the example below.
Worked example: the same 1,000 USDT with the same kind of lead trader on three exchanges
We use Bitget, BingX and MEXC because their regular futures fee rates can all be read from official public data. Assumptions:
- 1,000 USDT for copy trading, each trade using 500 USDT margin at 10× leverage, a 5,000 USDT position.
- The lead trader makes 20 full round trips a month, with every open and close as a taker.
- Profit before fees for the month is 150 USDT (15%). The profit share is 10% on all three, calculated on profit after fees.
- Funding fees, slippage and failed copies are ignored.
Formulas: volume = 5,000 × 2 × 20 = 200,000 USDT; fees = volume × taker rate; profit share = (150 − fees) × 10%; rebate = fees × rebate rate.
| Item | Bitget | BingX | MEXC |
| Regular taker rate | 0.06% | 0.05% | 0.02% (BTCUSDT) |
| Fees | 120 | 100 | 40 |
| Profit after fees | 30 | 50 | 110 |
| Lead trader's 10% share | 3 | 5 | 11 |
| You keep, without a rebate | 27 | 45 | 99 |
| Fee Otter rebate rate | 50% | 45% | 60% |
| Rebate (if copy fees count) | 60 | 45 | 24 |
| You keep, with the rebate | 87 | 90 | 123 |
Figures in USDT. Fee sources: Bitget futures public API (maker 0.02% / taker 0.06%), BingX fee explainer (perpetuals 0.02% / 0.05%) and MEXC futures public API (BTC_USDT maker 0 / taker 0.02%), all checked 2026-10-13.
Fees on the three exchanges are 40 to 120 USDT, while the profit share is only 3 to 11 USDT. On Bitget, fees already take 80% of the profit before fees. Even if the profit share went from 10% to 20%, you would pay only 3 USDT more on Bitget. With a lead trader who makes only 5 round trips a month, Bitget's fees drop to 30 USDT and the share becomes 12 USDT, so the two are about the same.
MEXC's fee rate differs by trading pair, and some pairs run zero-fee promotions; a zero-fee pair also earns no rebate. The order page shows the actual rate.
How to choose
- If the lead trader trades often: compare fee rates and rebates first. Look at the lead trader's number of opened positions over the last 30 days; the more trades, the bigger the share of fees.
- If you want the rebate to be in writing: Binance is the only one of these eight whose FAQ says copy trading fees count toward referral commission, and the Fee Otter rebate there is 40%.
- If you don't want the same profit charged twice: pick Binance or Bitget, which use a high-water mark. MEXC also shares only once cumulative realized profit is back above zero.
- If you have little capital: Binance futures copy trading starts at 10 USDT, MEXC 30 USDT, Bitget 50 USDT and Bybit generally 100 USDT. With too little capital, orders under a ratio mode can fall below the minimum order size and won't be copied.
- If you want to copy many traders at once: Binance allows 20 portfolios and BingX 20 traders; Bitget and Bybit 10. OKX allows only 1 in one-way mode.
- If you already have an exchange account: check that exchange's rebinding guide first. Bindings are usually hard to change, so bind before you start copying.
If you're already a VIP on an exchange and want to switch your binding or sign up somewhere else, contact support. We can help you apply for special trading perks or a higher rebate rate.
Risks
- Futures copy trading can wipe out your margin: a lead trader's past performance doesn't predict the future. Slippage, missed orders and different leverage settings can make your results differ from the lead trader's, and you can even be liquidated before they are.
- Private links often carry a much higher share: on private or invite-only portfolios, OKX, MEXC and BingX allow up to 50%, and Bitget 0% to 99%. Before you click a copy trading link in a group chat, check the rate on the portfolio page.
- Rebates don't refund profit share: a rebate returns part of the fees only. The profit share paid to the lead trader is not covered.
- Rules change often: OKX's official pages describe the amount ranges inconsistently, and two Bybit pages give different minimums. Go by what the settings page shows at the time.
- Exchange risk: apart from the money you are copying with, don't keep large amounts on an exchange for long.
FAQ
Which exchange has the lowest copy trading minimum?
Binance futures copy trading starts at 10 USDT by default, WEEX fixed amount from 10 USDT per order, and OKX fixed amount also from 10 USDT per order. MEXC is 30 USDT, Bitget 50 USDT and Bybit generally 100 USDT. Lead traders can raise the minimum.
Which exchange allows the highest profit share?
For public portfolios, BingX diamond lead traders can take up to 32%, and Binance and OKX up to 30%. Private or invite-only portfolios go higher: Bitget up to 99%, and OKX, MEXC and BingX up to 50%.
What is a high-water mark?
The profit share is charged only on cumulative profit above the high point at the last charge. Bitget states it uses a high-water mark and Binance's formula has the same effect, so profit that wins back a loss isn't charged again.
Are copy trading fees higher than trading yourself?
Bybit, OKX, MEXC and Ourbit all state that copy trades use your own VIP rate with no markup. Bybit's copy trading Pro is the exception and always uses the VIP 1 rate.
Do copy trading fees earn a rebate?
Binance's official FAQ says yes. The affiliate terms of the other seven don't mention copy trading specifically. Copy trades generate futures fees like any other order; whether they count is shown in your settlement records, and you can ask support if in doubt.
Which costs more, profit share or fees?
It depends on how often the lead trader trades. In the example above, with 20 round trips a month, fees are about 3.6 to 40 times the profit share; at 5 round trips a month, the two are close.
