MEXC is cheaper than XT.COM on both spot and futures, and the gap is widest on spot (fees checked October 2026). For spot, MEXC wins outright: MEXC charges 0% maker and 0.05% taker on BTC and ETH spot, XT.COM charges 0.20% on both sides, and after the rebate the net taker fee is 0.05% × (1 − 60%) = 0.02% against 0.20% × (1 − 45%) = 0.11%, a 5.5x gap. For futures, net cost decides: XT.COM's rebate is higher (70% when you bind through Fee Otter, against MEXC's 60%), but so are its listed fees (0.04% / 0.06% vs 0.01% / 0.04%), and MEXC still comes out cheaper, with a net taker fee of 0.016% vs 0.018%. Whichever you choose, do not bind one of the common 20% or 25% KOL codes: MEXC's 60% is 3 times 20%, and XT.COM's 70% is 3.5 times. On 1,000 USDT of monthly fees, a typical 20% code returns 200 USDT; MEXC code mexc-FEEOTTER returns 600 and XT.COM code FEEOTTER returns 700.
Quick verdict
- More than double what common KOL codes pay: MEXC's 60% is 3 times a typical 20% code, and XT.COM's 70% is 3.5 times.
- A wide gap on spot: XT.COM's 0.20% spot fee is 4 times MEXC's taker fee; after the rebate, net taker is 0.11% vs 0.02%, and maker 0.11% vs 0%.
- On futures, MEXC is lower too: net taker is 0.016% vs 0.018%, and net maker 0.004% vs 0.012%, a third of XT.COM's.
- XT.COM pays back more money: on 500,000 USDT a month of futures taker volume, XT.COM returns 210 USDT to MEXC's 120, but the net cost is 90 vs 80 USDT, still lower on MEXC.
- BTC and ETH promotions widen MEXC's lead: BTC and ETH perps currently charge 0.02% taker, and about 125 contracts are fee-free.
- Existing accounts: MEXC lets you add a code yourself within 30 days of signup; XT.COM does not, so you open a new account with a phone number or email never used there, no KYC required.

Fees verified on 2026-10-18 (each exchange's official fee schedule). · Methodology
Both fee pages load with JavaScript, so the figures above come from each exchange's public API. MEXC's spot taker is 0.05% on BTC and ETH; about 1,100 of its 1,864 pairs, mostly smaller coins, charge 0.08% (0.032% net), still far below XT.COM. MEXC has, with Ourbit, the lowest list prices of the exchanges we cover; XT.COM's 0.20% spot fee ties with HTX for the highest, its 0.06% futures taker matches Bitget and HTX, and its 0.04% maker is double the 0.02% most exchanges charge. On 100,000 USDT of spot taker trades, MEXC charges 50 USDT and XT.COM charges 200 USDT, so the gap opens before any rebate is paid. For current rates, see the official pages: MEXC fee schedule · XT.COM fee schedule.
Rebate rates: XT.COM is 10 points higher
| Item (bound through Fee Otter) | MEXC | XT.COM |
|---|---|---|
| Referral code | mexc-FEEOTTER | FEEOTTER |
| Futures rebate | 60% | 70% |
| Spot rebate | 60% | 45% |
| Futures vs a typical 20% code | 3 times | 3.5 times |
| Spot vs a typical 20% code | 3 times | 2.25 times |
On both exchanges the first layer is returned automatically by the exchange (20% on MEXC, 60% on XT.COM), and the rest is Fee Otter's extra rebate (40% on MEXC, 10% on XT.COM). XT.COM's futures rate is in the site's top bracket alongside Gate, WEEX and Ourbit. MEXC uses one rate for futures and spot; XT.COM spot is 45% (35% automatic from the exchange + 10% Fee Otter extra rebate). For details, see the XT.COM fee rebate guide and the MEXC fee rebate guide.
More than double what common KOL codes pay. Bound through Fee Otter, MEXC pays 60% on futures and spot alike, and XT.COM 70% on futures (45% on spot). On 1,000 USDT of monthly futures fees, a typical 20% code returns 200 USDT; through Fee Otter, MEXC returns 600 USDT and XT.COM 700 USDT.
Spot: a gap too wide for the rebate to close
| How you are bound | MEXC net maker | MEXC net taker | XT.COM net maker | XT.COM net taker |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| List price | 0% | 0.05% | 0.20% | 0.20% |
| Through Fee Otter | 0% | 0.02% | 0.11% | 0.11% |
Working: MEXC taker = 0.05% × (1 − 60%) = 0.02%; XT.COM = 0.20% × (1 − 45%) = 0.11%. The gap is 0.11 ÷ 0.02 = 5.5 times. Even after a 45% rebate, XT.COM's net 0.11% is still above MEXC's 0.05% with no rebate at all.
In money: on 100,000 USDT a month of spot taker trades, MEXC charges 50 USDT, returns 30 and nets 20 USDT; XT.COM charges 200 USDT, returns 90 and nets 110 USDT. That is 90 USDT a month, or 1,080 USDT a year. Filled as maker orders, the cost is 0 on MEXC and still 110 USDT net on XT.COM. For spot strategies, see fee rebates for spot investors.
Futures: a higher rebate rate does not mean lower cost
| How you are bound | MEXC net maker | MEXC net taker | XT.COM net maker | XT.COM net taker |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| List price | 0.01% | 0.04% | 0.04% | 0.06% |
| Through Fee Otter | 0.004% | 0.016% | 0.012% | 0.018% |
Formula: net fee = listed fee × (1 − rebate rate). For example, XT.COM taker: 0.06% × (1 − 70%) = 0.018%; XT.COM maker: 0.04% × (1 − 70%) = 0.012%; MEXC taker: 0.04% × (1 − 60%) = 0.016%. MEXC's net taker and net maker fees are both lower than XT.COM's, and its net maker is a third of XT.COM's.
A 70% taker / 30% maker mix
The blended list rate is 0.7 × 0.04% + 0.3 × 0.01% = 0.031% on MEXC and 0.7 × 0.06% + 0.3 × 0.04% = 0.054% on XT.COM. After the rebate that is 0.0124% vs 0.0162%, so XT.COM is about 30% higher.
Can XT.COM win if you mostly take liquidity?
No. With t as your taker share, the blended net rate is XT.COM = 0.012% + 0.006% × t and MEXC = 0.004% + 0.012% × t. The gap narrows as t rises, but even at 100% taker XT.COM's 0.018% is above MEXC's 0.016%, so at standard rates XT.COM's net futures cost is never lower.
In money: one order and one month
One order: 2,500 USDT margin at 20x leverage
Notional = 2,500 × 20 = 50,000 USDT. Opening as taker costs 50,000 × 0.04% = 20 USDT on MEXC and 50,000 × 0.06% = 30 USDT on XT.COM. Bound through Fee Otter, MEXC returns 12 (net 8 USDT) and XT.COM returns 21 (net 9 USDT). Counting both the open and the close, MEXC saves 2 USDT per round trip.
500,000 USDT a month, all taker
| How you are bound | MEXC rebate | MEXC net cost | XT.COM rebate | XT.COM net cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Typical 20% code | 40 USDT | 160 USDT | 60 USDT | 240 USDT |
| Fee Otter | 120 USDT | 80 USDT | 210 USDT | 90 USDT |
Monthly fees are 500,000 × 0.04% = 200 USDT on MEXC and 500,000 × 0.06% = 300 USDT on XT.COM; rebate = monthly fees × rebate rate, and net cost = monthly fees − rebate. The two are 120 USDT a year apart, in MEXC's favour. Switching codes matters more: on XT.COM, net cost drops from 240 USDT with a typical 20% code to 90 USDT, saving 1,800 USDT a year; on MEXC it drops from 160 to 80, saving 960 USDT a year. If you are already a VIP on an exchange and want to rebind or sign up elsewhere, contact support and we can help you apply for special trading benefits or a higher rebate rate.
Compare net cost, not the rebate you receive. XT.COM pays back more each month than MEXC (210 vs 120 USDT) because it charges more in the first place. What counts is what you pay minus what comes back, and on that measure MEXC is lower. Either way, both exchanges bound through Fee Otter (80–90 USDT net) cost half or less of what a typical 20% code leaves you paying (160–240 USDT).
BTC and ETH promotions: MEXC pulls further ahead
The futures figures above use MEXC's standard rates. On 2026-10-18, MEXC's BTC and ETH perps were 0% maker and 0.02% taker, and about 125 other contracts were 0% on both sides (see the MEXC zero-fee page). On BTC and ETH perps, MEXC's net taker = 0.02% × (1 − 60%) = 0.008%, against XT.COM's 0.018%, a 2.25x gap. MEXC's announcements set the end date of the promotion, after which the standard 0.01% / 0.04% applies again; zero-fee contracts charge nothing, so there is nothing to rebate on them.
Signup, KYC and coverage
- MEXC: you can trade right after signing up; withdrawals and advanced features require KYC. On 2026-10-18 its public API listed 1,864 spot pairs and 1,194 futures contracts.
- XT.COM: KYC is optional, and unverified accounts can trade, deposit and withdraw up to 200,000 USDT a day (per XT.COM's official Withdrawal Limit Guide); fiat and P2P require KYC (see XT.COM's official guide). More than 1,000 spot pairs are tradable.
- Rebate payout: both exchanges charge the full fee at the time of trade, and Fee Otter settles the rebate into your available balance, with every entry itemised.
Adding a code later and rebinding: MEXC has 30 days, XT.COM means a new account
| Item | MEXC | XT.COM |
|---|---|---|
| Adding a code after signup | Self-service within 30 days of signup, main account, no referrer bound yet | Not possible |
| Changing referrer after binding | Not possible | Not possible |
| Main rebinding method | Sign up again with a new email | Sign up again with a phone number or email never used on XT.COM |
| Does the new account need KYC? | For withdrawals and advanced features; up to 2 accounts per KYC identity | No, except for fiat and P2P |
If your MEXC account is less than 30 days old, is a main account and has no referrer yet, just add code mexc-FEEOTTER through MEXC's self-service linking; the referrer must have signed up before you (see MEXC's self-service referrer linking guide). After 30 days, sign up again with a new email through the referral link; if both of your accounts are used, close one first, which takes up to 15 working days. The steps are in the MEXC rebind guide. XT.COM has no way to add a code later, but rebinding is the most direct: sign up through the referral link with a phone number or email never registered on XT.COM and check that the referral field already shows FEEOTTER. No KYC is needed. Your old account can still withdraw as usual, so move the assets across; withdrawal limits apply per account per day, so spread large transfers over a few days. See the XT.COM rebind guide. On both, finish by binding the new account's UID on Fee Otter.
The two codes look alike but are not the same. MEXC's is mexc-FEEOTTER and XT.COM's is FEEOTTER. The XT.COM version is invalid on MEXC, and a wrong code is the same as no code; signing up through the referral link fills it in for you. Details are in the MEXC referral code and XT.COM referral code guides.
Which one should you choose
- Mostly spot → MEXC, by a wide margin: net taker 0.02% vs 0.11%, maker 0% vs 0.11%.
- Mostly futures → MEXC. Net taker and net maker are both lower.
- Mostly BTC and ETH perps → MEXC. The promotional 0.02% taker fee on BTC and ETH drops to 0.008% after the rebate.
- Almost all taker → still MEXC. The gap is smallest at 100% taker (0.016% vs 0.018% net), but XT.COM never pulls ahead.
- Want to rebind with a new account that needs no KYC → XT.COM has the lowest barrier.
- The coin you want is only on one of them → the asset comes first and the fee second; bind both so you are covered.
Next step: MEXC is cheaper for both spot and futures, but on either exchange, do not settle for 20%. For MEXC, sign up with code mexc-FEEOTTER using the link in the MEXC referral code guide, or add it yourself within 30 days as shown in the MEXC rebind guide. For XT.COM, sign up with code FEEOTTER via the XT.COM referral code guide, or open a new account following the XT.COM rebind guide. Once your UID is bound, your next trade starts earning a rebate.
Frequently asked questions
Which is cheaper, MEXC or XT.COM?
MEXC, on both spot and futures. Bound through Fee Otter, net spot taker is 0.02% vs 0.11%, and net futures taker is 0.016% vs 0.018%.
XT.COM rebates 70%, so why is it still more expensive on futures?
Because its listed fees are higher. XT.COM's 0.06% taker less 70% leaves 0.018%, while MEXC's 0.04% less 60% leaves 0.016%; 10 extra points of rebate cannot make up for a list price that is 50% higher.
Is spot trading on XT.COM worth it?
Not on fees. XT.COM's spot fee is 0.20%, still 0.11% after a 45% rebate. That is above MEXC's 0.05% with no rebate and 5.5 times MEXC's 0.02% through Fee Otter; it only makes sense if the coin you want is listed only on XT.COM.
Are the MEXC and XT.COM referral codes the same?
No. MEXC's is mexc-FEEOTTER and XT.COM's is FEEOTTER; the XT.COM code is invalid on MEXC. Signing up through each exchange's referral link fills in the right one.
How much more do I get than with a typical 20% code?
MEXC pays 60% on futures and spot alike; XT.COM pays 70% on futures and 45% on spot. On 1,000 USDT of monthly futures fees, a typical code returns 200 USDT, MEXC 600 and XT.COM 700.
I already have an XT.COM account. How do I get the rebate?
Sign up again with a phone number or email never registered on XT.COM and check that the referral field shows FEEOTTER. XT.COM does not let you add a code later, but a new account can trade and withdraw without KYC, so just move your assets across.
My MEXC account is more than 30 days old. Can I still rebind?
Yes, by signing up again with a new email. MEXC allows up to 2 accounts per KYC identity, so if one is free, re-register through the referral link; if both are used, close one first, which takes up to 15 working days.
