To register on MEXC, follow six steps: open the official signup page through Fee Otter's dedicated link, enter your email or phone and set a password, check that the "Referral Code" field shows mexc-FEEOTTER, prefix included, pass the slider check and enter the 6-digit code, complete KYC, then deposit and bind your UID on Fee Otter. In a February 2026 announcement MEXC said users must complete KYC to use the platform: without it you can't deposit or withdraw, trading features are restricted, and you can only view market data; review usually takes under 15 minutes, though some cases take 8 to 24 hours (checked 2026-10-18). If you miss the code or its prefix, you can still add it yourself within 30 days of signup. The total rebate is 60% (20% automatic from MEXC + 40% Fee Otter extra), three times a typical 20% referral code, but zero-fee trading pairs and API orders earn no rebate.
This guide follows MEXC's help center articles on signup, KYC, self-service referrer linking and account closure, plus the MEXC User Agreement: who can sign up, what to prepare, how the app and website differ, how long each step takes, how to fix common errors, and what to do if you already have an account.
Who can register on MEXC? Countries, age and account limits
The Prohibited Jurisdictions in the MEXC User Agreement are North Korea, Cuba, Sudan, Iran, mainland China, Singapore, Malaysia, the United States, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, the Russian-controlled regions of Ukraine (currently Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Sevastopol), Canada, and any country or territory under comprehensive EU or US OFAC sanctions or on the FATF high-risk blacklist (MEXC User Agreement, last updated 2026-10-13, checked 2026-10-18).
- Age: the agreement requires individuals to be of legal age to form a binding contract under applicable law; it doesn't give a specific number.
- Accounts: clause 5 says each user may hold at most 2 accounts at the same time, each managed separately, and the KYC FAQ says each person can verify up to 2 MEXC accounts.
- Indonesia: the blocking-request list published by OJK's Satgas PASTI in June 2026 includes MEXC Trading Platform (OJK release).
The list can change: the User Agreement says its list of prohibited jurisdictions is not exhaustive and MEXC can change it at any time. Check the latest version before you sign up, and again from time to time if you keep using MEXC.
The UK and Malaysia are both on MEXC's prohibited list, so residents there can't register.
What does the MEXC signup page look like?
On the MEXC signup page, the field is called "Referral Code". Our code is mexc-FEEOTTER, prefix included; FEEOTTER on its own won't bind. When you arrive through our dedicated link, the full code is filled in automatically.
What do you need before signing up?
- An email address or phone number: one person can have at most 2 accounts, so know which one this is.
- The full code mexc-FEEOTTER: you can't leave out the prefix, and the dedicated link fills it in for you.
- A password that meets the rules: at least 10 characters, with uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols.
- An ID document and a phone with a camera: KYC is required to use MEXC, so you'll need them right after signup.
- A quick check of the fees on the assets you trade most: zero-fee trading pairs don't generate rebates.
MEXC signup steps
Step 1: Open the MEXC signup page through the dedicated link
The link fills in the full mexc-FEEOTTER. To sign up manually, click Sign Up on the official website; in the app, your first login counts as signup.
Step 2: Enter your email or phone number and set a password
The password needs at least 10 characters with uppercase, lowercase, numbers and symbols. You can also sign up with Google, Apple, Telegram or a wallet such as MetaMask.
Step 3: Confirm the referral code includes the mexc- prefix
On the website, tick "Enter Referral Code" and type it in; in the app, tap ▾ to open the field. If you missed the prefix, you still have a chance: you can add the code yourself within 30 days of signup (see below).
Step 4: Pass the slider check and enter the 6-digit code
After the slider puzzle, find the code in your email, enter the 6 digits and click Confirm. That completes signup.
Step 5: Complete KYC
Without KYC you can't deposit or withdraw, so do it right after signup. See the next section.
Step 6: Deposit, check the fee on what you trade, bind your UID
Some MEXC trading pairs have their own fee rates. BTC and ETH futures are currently 0%/0.02%, and about 125 futures contracts have zero fees. The order page shows the rate that applies. The number under your avatar is your UID. Go to the Fee Otter rebate dashboard, choose MEXC, and paste it in.
MEXC sign up on the app vs the website: what's different?
Both let you sign up with email or phone, both use a slider check, and the password rules are the same. MEXC's official web and app signup guides differ in these points:
| Item | Website | App |
| Entry point | Sign Up button on the website | Your first login counts as signup |
| Referral code field | Tick "Enter Referral Code", then type it | Tap ▾ to open the field, then type it |
| One-tap signup | Google, Apple, Telegram, MetaMask | Google, Apple, Telegram, wallet (for example MetaMask, which needs a connection and a signature) |
| No code received | Click "Haven't received verification code?" to resend | Tap "Didn't Receive Verification Code?" to resend |
Based on MEXC's web signup process (2025-12-10) and app signup process (2026-05-14), checked 2026-10-18; button names may change between versions.
How long do MEXC signup and KYC take?
Signup itself is just entering details, verifying and setting a password, and MEXC gives no time for it. The time goes into KYC and a few waiting periods:
| Stage | Time |
| KYC review | Usually within 15 minutes; some applications take 8 to 24 hours |
| Self-service referrer linking | Within 30 days of signup, main account only, no referrer yet |
| Closing an account | Up to 15 business days, with no deposits or trading in the meantime |
| Fee Otter rebate credited | Usually T+1 to your withdrawable balance on the rebate dashboard |

MEXC KYC: how many accounts can one identity open?
Two at most. The MEXC KYC FAQ says each user can complete verification for up to 2 MEXC accounts, and the User Agreement limits you to 2 accounts at the same time. If you have used both, you have to close one first, and closing can take up to 15 business days, during which you can't deposit or trade (see the MEXC official account closure guide). So think it through before you open a second account: it is your last chance on MEXC to open one without closing another.
KYC is now the entry requirement. Under MEXC's February 5, 2026 announcement:
| Level | What you submit | What you can do |
| No KYC | Nothing | No deposits or withdrawals; trading and unified account features restricted; market data and announcements only |
| Primary KYC | Front and back of an ID | Deposits, trading, basic Earn (flexible or fixed savings), 80 BTC daily withdrawals |
| Advanced KYC | ID plus facial recognition | Platform features (some regional limits may still apply), exclusive events, 200 BTC daily withdrawals |
Without KYC you can no longer deposit or withdraw on MEXC, so finish Primary KYC right after signup. Binding for rebates itself only needs your UID.
If you can't complete KYC, the KYC FAQ lets you submit a withdrawal appeal; once approved, the account keeps only withdrawal and position-closing permissions. Document and photo rules for each level are in the MEXC KYC guide, and other exchanges' rules are in our exchange KYC comparison.
MEXC signup problems: no verification code, KYC stuck
| What you see | Usual cause | What to do |
| No verification code | Filtered into spam or trash | Check inbox, spam and trash; if it's still missing, use "Haven't received verification code?" to resend |
| Password not accepted | It doesn't meet the rules | At least 10 characters with uppercase, lowercase, numbers and symbols |
| You typed only FEEOTTER | Missing the mexc- prefix, so nothing was bound | Within 30 days, add the full mexc-FEEOTTER through self-service linking |
| No KYC result after 15 minutes | Some applications take longer | MEXC says some take 8 to 24 hours; wait first |
| You want a 3rd account | At most 2 accounts per person | Close one first, which takes up to 15 business days |
| "Complete real-name verification" blocks a withdrawal | The account has no KYC | Complete KYC; if you can't, submit a withdrawal appeal |
| You live in a prohibited jurisdiction | Regional limits in the User Agreement | You can't use MEXC |
Before linking a referrer, check the prefix once more: self-service linking can't be changed after you submit.
Who is MEXC for?
MEXC is known for low fees and a large number of new coins. Spot maker is 0% and futures are 0.01%/0.04%, both low list fees. It suits you if you trade often and care about the cost of every trade.
What are MEXC's fees?
MEXC's list fees:
| Trade type | Maker | Taker | Notes |
| Spot | 0% | 0.05% | BTC and ETH; most smaller pairs 0.08%. The five major exchanges charge 0.10% spot taker |
| USDT-margined futures | 0.01% | 0.04% | Standard rate; the taker matches Ourbit's 0.04%. The five major exchanges charge 0.05% to 0.06%. BTC and ETH are currently 0%/0.02%, and about 125 contracts have zero fees (checked 2026-10-18) |
Fees verified: 2026-10-18 (MEXC official fee page) · Data sources and methodology
This table shows VIP0 fees pulled from the MEXC public API on October 18, 2026. MEXC may change them. For the latest fees, see the MEXC official fee page.
How does MEXC's net fee compare with similar exchanges?
The list fee is only the starting point. The "net taker" fee after you bind for rebates is what you actually pay on every futures market order (net fee = list fee × (1 − rebate rate)):
| Exchange | Futures taker list fee | Net taker after rebate |
| MEXC | 0.04% | 0.016% |
| Gate | 0.05% | 0.015% |
| XT.COM | 0.06% | 0.018% |
| Binance | 0.05% | 0.03% |
Among these exchanges, Gate has the lowest net taker (0.015%) and MEXC is almost level at 0.016%. MEXC gets there with a lower list fee, Gate with a higher rebate rate.

What is the cheapest way to place your first futures order?
Take 2,500 USDT of margin at 20x leverage. The notional position is 50,000 USDT. Fees are charged on the notional position, not the margin. On MEXC:
- Market order (taker 0.04%): the opening fee is 20 USDT. After binding, 12 USDT comes back, so you pay 8 USDT.
- Filled limit order (maker 0.01%): the opening fee is 5 USDT. 3 USDT comes back, so you pay 2 USDT.
Counting opening and closing as one round trip, you pay 16 USDT with market orders and 4 USDT with limit orders. Use limit orders when you can, then add the rebate on top. That is the most direct way to save on MEXC.
How is the rebate calculated after you sign up with a referral code?
The MEXC rebate works like this: the 20% from our referral code mexc-FEEOTTER is refunded automatically by MEXC. After you bind your UID, Fee Otter adds a 40% extra rebate, for a total of 60%. Spot and futures are the same.
Based on 500 USDT in monthly fees: you get back 300 USDT. After the rebate, the standard 0.04% futures taker fee drops to 0.016%.
How much can you save in a month?
Here are three trading volumes, calculated with MEXC's futures list taker fee:
| Monthly futures volume | Monthly fees | Refund with a typical 20% code | Refund with Fee Otter (60%) |
| 100,000 USDT | 40 | 8 | 24 |
| 500,000 USDT | 200 | 40 | 120 |
| 2,000,000 USDT | 800 | 160 | 480 |
All figures assume market orders (taker 0.04%), in USDT per month.
If you're already a VIP on an exchange and want to rebind or sign up on another one, contact support. We can help you request special trading benefits or a higher rebate rate.
When does the rebate arrive, and where can you see it?
MEXC refunds the 20% automatically. The extra rebate is calculated trade by trade by Fee Otter after the daily report is published, and is usually added to your available balance on the rebate dashboard on T+1. If you mostly trade zero-fee assets, that part of your details will show 0. That is normal, not a missed calculation.
The most common mistakes new MEXC users make
- Leaving out the mexc- prefix. Entering the code without it is the same as entering nothing.
- Thinking you can trade first and do KYC later. MEXC now blocks deposits and withdrawals without KYC and restricts trading features.
- Expecting rebates on zero-fee trades. The rebate is a percentage of the fee, so zero-fee trading pairs can't generate one. To see what the rebate does for you, look at assets that charge a fee.
- Trading through the API or a bot and expecting a rebate. The MEXC affiliate FAQ says trades placed via API no longer count toward commission (MEXC affiliate FAQ, 2026-07-20).
- Missing the 30-day self-service window. If you missed the code, you can add it yourself within 30 days of signup, on the main account, if you have no referrer.
- Using up both accounts before thinking about rebinding. At that point you have to close one first and wait up to 15 business days.
The first thing to do after signup
- Confirm your referrer within 30 days: if you are not bound to mexc-FEEOTTER, add it through MEXC official self-service referrer linking. Once bound, it can't be changed, so check the prefix again before you submit.
- Bind your UID.
- Check whether the assets you trade most are zero-fee: if they are, that part won't earn a rebate, but you won't pay fees on it either.
Already have a MEXC account?
If you are within 30 days of signup, on the main account, and have no referrer yet, add the code through the official self-service linking. After 30 days, sign up again with a new email (one KYC can have at most 2 accounts). For details, see the MEXC rebind guide for existing users.

Risks to know before using MEXC
MEXC lists new tokens fast and charges low fees, but know these risks before you deposit:
- Registration and regulation: MEXC is registered in Seychelles and holds a Comoros international crypto licence, which CoinGecko describes as an unproven regulatory framework (CoinGecko trust score 9/10). In February 2025 Japan's FSA also asked Apple and Google to remove the MEXC app because it is not registered in Japan (The Block).
- Risk-control freezes: large or unusual transactions may be temporarily frozen by risk control. MEXC's official guide says anti-money-laundering checks can limit account functions until you submit the requested information. Complete KYC early, keep deposit and trade records, and don't park funds there.
- Keep only active trading funds there: an exchange is for money you are actively trading; withdraw idle funds and anything you hold long term.
- Use a cold wallet for long-term holdings: move large, long-term assets to a hardware cold wallet (such as a Ledger) and keep them offline.
- Futures and high leverage are high risk: leverage magnifies gains and losses alike. Beginners should avoid high leverage and learn the rules with small amounts first.
FAQ
How do I register on MEXC?
Open the signup page through the dedicated link, enter your email or phone, set a password of at least 10 characters, check that the referral code is mexc-FEEOTTER, pass the slider check and enter the 6-digit code, then complete KYC. You can sign up on the website or in the app.
Does MEXC require KYC to sign up?
Signing up needs no documents, but under the February 2026 announcement you can't deposit or withdraw without KYC, and trading is restricted. Review usually takes under 15 minutes, though some cases take 8 to 24 hours.
How do I write the MEXC referral code, and can I add it after signup?
Write the full mexc-FEEOTTER, prefix included; FEEOTTER alone won't bind. If you missed it, you can add it through official self-service linking within 30 days of signup, on the main account, with no referrer yet. Once linked, it can't be changed.
Which countries can't register on MEXC?
Under the User Agreement, they include the US, Canada, the UK, mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, North Korea, Cuba, Iran, Sudan and the Russian-controlled regions of Ukraine, plus countries under comprehensive sanctions or on the FATF blacklist.
How many MEXC accounts can one person have?
Two at most, and one KYC can verify up to 2 accounts. If you have used both, close one first, which takes up to 15 business days.
Do zero-fee pairs and API orders earn a rebate?
No. The rebate is a percentage of the fee actually paid, so zero-fee trades have nothing to refund, and under MEXC's affiliate rules API orders don't count toward commission.
