KuCoin's fee rebate is 60%, and KuCoin pays all of it automatically on both spot and futures; Fee Otter adds no extra layer. Sign up with our code FEEOTTER and you get three times the 20% most referral codes pass on: on 1,000 USDT of monthly fees, a 20% code returns 200 and FEEOTTER returns 600 (checked October 2026).
If you are already a VIP on an exchange and want to rebind or sign up on another exchange, contact support. We can help you apply for special trading benefits or a higher rebate rate.
Fees checked on 5 October 2026 against KuCoin's public API and its official fee page.
How the KuCoin rebate works (pay first, get it back later)
You pay the full fee when you trade, and the rebate comes back afterwards. The rate on the order screen doesn't drop; the saving arrives later.
| Layer | Paid by | Rate | Condition |
| Automatic rebate | KuCoin | 60% (spot and futures) | Sign up with our code |
| Extra rebate | Rebate platform (Fee Otter) | 0% | KuCoin has no extra layer |
KuCoin settles the 60% itself, without going through Fee Otter, so there is nothing to request on Fee Otter.
What you pay first: KuCoin's list fees
| Type | Maker | Taker | Notes |
| Spot class A | 0.1% | 0.1% | BTC, ETH and most major coins |
| Spot class B | 0.2% | 0.2% | Some coins |
| Spot class C | 0.3% | 0.3% | Some coins |
| USDT-margined perpetual futures | 0.02% | 0.06% | Same on every USDT perpetual |
These are VIP0 rates. KuCoin splits spot pairs into classes A, B and C, so a small coin can cost two or three times as much to trade as a major one. Check the pair's fee on the trading page before you order. Our method is on data sources and methods.
With "Pay Fees with KCS" turned on, spot and margin fees get another 20% off; futures don't. The KCS has to sit in your Funding or Trading account or in KCS Staking, and if the balance is too low the discount doesn't apply (KuCoin's help page). That discount is separate from the rebate and isn't included in the numbers below.
Rebate rates
How much comes back? Five volume scenarios
Assuming futures taker 0.06% and maker 0.02%, with 70% of volume taking and 30% making, the blended fee is 0.048%:
| Monthly volume | Monthly fees | 60% back | Per year (60%) |
| 100k USDT | 48 USDT | 28.8 | 345.6 |
| 500k USDT | 240 USDT | 144 | 1,728 |
| 2M USDT | 960 USDT | 576 | 6,912 |
| 5M USDT | 2,400 USDT | 1,440 | 17,280 |
| 10M USDT | 4,800 USDT | 2,880 | 34,560 |
Spot also gets 60%: class A at 0.1% nets out at 0.04%, class B at 0.08% and class C at 0.12%. Try your own rates in the effective fee calculator.
Net fee rates compared
Compare the net fee after rebate, not the list fee. Same 70/30 futures blend, VIP0 list prices, and each exchange's rebate through Fee Otter:
| Exchange | Blended list fee | Rebate | Net fee |
| Ourbit | 0.034% | 70% | 0.0102% |
| Gate | 0.041% | 70% | 0.0123% |
| MEXC | 0.031% | 60% | 0.0124% |
| XT.COM (VIP0) | 0.054% | 70% | 0.0162% |
| WEEX (VIP0) | 0.062% | 70% | 0.0186% |
| KuCoin | 0.048% | 60% | 0.0192% |
KuCoin's 0.06% futures taker fee is on the high side here, and its net fee comes last in this table. If you mostly trade futures and only care about cost, the others are cheaper; KuCoin suits people who want a wide range of smaller coins. (OKX pays a 20% auto-rebate + exclusive rewards and isn't included.) The full side-by-side is in exchange fees and rebates compared.
If you trade futures, leverage tiers, liquidation triggers and funding intervals are covered in the KuCoin futures guide.
Spot with KCS deduction plus the rebate: what you pay
KCS deduction takes 20% off spot fees, and the 60% rebate is then paid on the fee you actually paid. The two multiply; they do not add:
| Spot class | List rate | Rebate 60% only | KCS + rebate (estimate) |
| Class A | 0.1% | 0.04% | 0.032% |
| Class B | 0.2% | 0.08% | 0.064% |
| Class C | 0.3% | 0.12% | 0.096% |
Formula: you pay = list rate × (1 − 20%) × (1 − 60%). KuCoin charges the full fee first and refunds the 20% in KCS, and says price moves can make the real discount less than 20%. KuCoin does not say whether the auto-rebate is calculated before or after that refund, so this column is an estimate that assumes discount first, rebate second. KCS deduction does not apply to futures.
One 50× futures trade: what is the difference?
Open 50× on 2,000 USDT of margin, a 100,000 USDT position, with market orders in and out:
- Fees: 100,000 × 0.06% × 2 = 120 USDT, 6% of your margin.
- Typical 20% code: you pay 96 USDT, 4.8% of margin.
- Our code at 60%: you pay 48 USDT, 2.4% of margin.
KuCoin futures go up to 125×. The higher you go, the bigger the share of margin that fees take, and the wider the rebate gap.
Against Binance, Bybit and BingX, KuCoin is cheaper after the rebate
KuCoin sits near the bottom of the table above because it is compared with Ourbit, Gate and MEXC, which are cheap to begin with. Against the exchanges it is usually compared with, Binance, Bybit and BingX, the futures taker fee looks like this:
| Exchange | Futures taker | Rebate through Fee Otter | You pay after rebate |
| KuCoin | 0.06% | 60% | 0.024% |
| BingX | 0.05% | 45% | 0.0275% |
| Binance | 0.05% | 40% | 0.03% |
| Bybit | 0.055% | 40% | 0.033% |
Each exchange's rate is the regular public rate from our rebate guides. KuCoin has the highest list taker fee, yet after the rebate its 0.024% is the lowest of the four.
Signing up and binding on KuCoin
- Open the sign-up page through the dedicated link (code FEEOTTER already filled in).
- Register and verify your identity; KuCoin has required this of every new user since 31 August 2023 (KuCoin's guide).
- Optionally bind your KuCoin UID on the profile page. We check it against KuCoin's referral list automatically, usually within 5 minutes.
- From then on KuCoin returns 60% of your fees automatically.
When does the rebate arrive?
KuCoin returns the 60% straight to your KuCoin account, on KuCoin's own settlement schedule. It doesn't go through Fee Otter and needs no request. For how extra rebates on other exchanges are settled, see how fee rebates are settled.
Already have a KuCoin account?
The code can only be entered at sign-up, and KuCoin offers no public way to add it later. New users must also verify their identity, and one person can verify only one account, so an account already verified in your name can't be switched by opening a new one. Which cases still have options is covered in the KuCoin rebind guide.
Risks to know before using KuCoin
Before you start, know these points:
- US enforcement record: in January 2025 KuCoin pleaded guilty in the US to operating an unlicensed money transmitting business, agreed to pay more than $297 million, and agreed to leave the US market for at least two years (US Department of Justice).
- Don't keep long-term or large balances on the exchange: keep only the funds you are actively trading on KuCoin; withdraw money you aren't trading and anything you hold long term.
- Use a cold wallet for long-term holdings: move large, long-term assets to a hardware cold wallet (such as a Ledger) and keep them offline.
- Futures and high leverage are high risk: KuCoin offers up to 125x on futures. Beginners should avoid high leverage and learn the rules with small amounts first.
FAQ
How much is the KuCoin rebate?
60%, all returned by KuCoin automatically, the same for spot and futures. Fee Otter adds no extra rebate.
Is there a rebate on KuCoin spot?
Yes. Spot classes A, B and C all get 60% back; class A at 0.1%, for example, nets out at 0.04%.
Is the KCS discount the same as the rebate?
No. The KCS discount takes 20% off spot and margin fees when you pay them in KCS, and KuCoin provides it. The rebate returns 60% of fees you've already paid.
What is the KuCoin referral code?
Our KuCoin referral code is FEEOTTER, built into the dedicated link. See the KuCoin referral code guide.
