The biggest fee discount on Bybit comes from paying fees in MNT and adding a 40% rebate. A regular user's 0.100% spot fee drops to 0.075% with MNT, and after 40% comes back you pay 0.045%, a 55% saving; the 0.055% futures taker fee drops to 0.0495% with MNT and nets 0.0297%, a 46% saving. The order is VIP rate, then MNT discount, then a rebate on the fee you paid, and the MNT discount doesn't apply to API users, trading bots or copy trading followers (Bybit help center, checked 2026-10-22).
This guide covers every official Bybit fee reduction (VIP tiers, the MNT discount, Fee Saver vouchers, Fee Discount rewards and maker orders), how each one stacks with the rebate, and what you pay at several monthly volumes. Fee Otter's Bybit rebate is 40%, all paid by Fee Otter; Bybit adds no automatic rebate layer.
The short answer: four setups for a regular user
Rates are from Bybit's Benefits of the VIP Program (last updated 2026-10-12), and the MNT-discounted rates from Introduction to the MNT Program, checked 2026-10-22:
| Setup | Spot maker / taker | USDT perpetual maker / taker | Saving vs list |
|---|---|---|---|
| List price, nothing applied | 0.100% / 0.100% | 0.020% / 0.055% | 0% |
| MNT discount only | 0.075% / 0.075% | 0.018% / 0.0495% | Spot 25%, futures 10% |
| Fee Otter 40% rebate only | 0.060% / 0.060% | 0.012% / 0.033% | 40% |
| MNT discount + 40% rebate | 0.045% / 0.045% | 0.0108% / 0.0297% | Spot 55%, futures 46% |
Rates after the rebate are effective rates (net fee ÷ trade value). The order screen still shows the discounted rate; Fee Otter settles the rebate afterwards. Bybit notes that actual rates can vary by region, and the My Fee Rate page after identity verification is the one that applies.
The MNT discount and the rebate multiply; they don't add up: spot is 1 − 0.75 × 0.6 = 55% and futures is 1 − 0.9 × 0.6 = 46%. Adding 25% and 40% to get 65% gives the wrong number.
Bybit's official ways to cut fees
| Method | How much it saves | Conditions and limits | Stacks with the 40% rebate? |
|---|---|---|---|
| VIP tier | Futures taker 0.055% → 0.040% at VIP1 | Any one of assets, borrowing, spot, derivatives, options or structured products volume; a 14-day grace period when you stop qualifying | Yes (except Pro tiers, see below) |
| MNT discount | 25% on spot and spot margin, 10% on USDT perpetual/expiry and USDC perpetual | Only MNT in the Unified Trading Account (UTA); not for API, market maker, institutional or Pro users | Yes, the rebate is calculated on the discounted fee you paid |
| Fee Saver vouchers | Offset a percentage or an amount of fees | Campaign rewards; not for perpetual trades under trading bots or copy trading; they expire | Bybit doesn't say |
| Fee Discount rewards | Depends on the reward | Applied to non-VIP rates; your VIP rate applies if it's lower; only orders placed after activation | Bybit doesn't say |
| Limit orders that fill as maker | Regular futures 0.055% → 0.020% | The order rests on the book and fills later | Yes |
The Fee Saver and Fee Discount rules come from Differences Between Each Reward Type (last updated 2026-09-15). Both are claimed in the Rewards Hub and can't be withdrawn, converted or transferred.
The MNT discount: turning it on and what it excludes
Sign up for Bybit through Fee Otter's link
code FEEOTTER, and the rebate is decided at sign-up. If you already have an account, see the Bybit rebind guide.Put MNT in your Unified Trading Account
Bybit says only MNT in the UTA can pay trading fees.Turn it on for spot and futures separately
on the web, click Fee Rate on the trading page; in the app, tap the three dots on the trading page; then switch on "Using MNT for fee discount". Bybit says spot and futures are managed separately, so turning on one doesn't turn on the other.Check the next day
see your tier and rates under My Fee Rate on Bybit, and whether the day's rebate has arrived on the rebate dashboard.
Bybit lists where the MNT discount doesn't apply: market makers, institutional, Pro and API users; inverse contracts, trading bots, copy trading (followers), RFQ and liquidation orders. It covers only opening and closing fees.
Accounts that trade through the API can't use the MNT discount, so on the same volume they save only through VIP, maker orders and the rebate; use the "rebate only" column when you run the numbers.
Stacking order and formula
- Your VIP tier sets the list rate. Tiers update daily at 07:00 UTC (15:00 UTC+8) and show in your account within 5 minutes; thresholds are in Bybit VIP levels and fees.
- MNT comes off the VIP rate. Bybit says the discount is "applied automatically on top of your existing VIP rate", for VIP and non-VIP users alike.
- The rebate is calculated on the fee you paid. Fee Otter settles 40% of the net fee Bybit reports.
Net fee = trade value × VIP rate × (1 − MNT discount) × (1 − 40%)
The MNT discount is 25% on spot and 10% on USDT perpetuals; for orders that can't use MNT, that term is 0.
Bybit doesn't say how fees paid in MNT count toward affiliate commission. We calculate the rebate on the net fee the exchange reports, so if you pay in MNT, go by the line-by-line records on the rebate dashboard.
Futures examples at four monthly volumes
Assuming half maker and half taker, manual trading (so MNT can be used), with the tier set by derivatives volume alone. Rates from Bybit's VIP fee table, checked 2026-10-22. The MNT column uses a straight 10% off; Bybit's own MNT table rounds to four decimals, so real amounts can differ by a few cents:
| 30-day futures volume | Tier | List fees | MNT only | 40% rebate only | MNT + 40% rebate |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000,000 USDT | VIP0 | 375 USDT | 337.5 USDT | 225 USDT | 202.5 USDT |
| 10,000,000 USDT | VIP1 | 2,900 USDT | 2,610 USDT | 1,740 USDT | 1,566 USDT |
| 25,000,000 USDT | VIP2 | 6,687.5 USDT | 6,018.75 USDT | 4,012.5 USDT | 3,611.25 USDT |
| 50,000,000 USDT | VIP3 | 12,250 USDT | 11,025 USDT | 7,350 USDT | 6,615 USDT |
On futures, the 40% rebate saves four times what MNT does. In the 10,000,000 USDT row, MNT saves 290 USDT and the rebate saves 1,160 USDT.
Spot examples at three monthly volumes
Again half maker and half taker, with MNT at 25% off:
| 30-day spot volume | Tier | List fees | MNT only | 40% rebate only | MNT + 40% rebate |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 100,000 USDT | VIP0 | 100 USDT | 75 USDT | 60 USDT | 45 USDT |
| 1,000,000 USDT | VIP1 | 737.5 USDT | 553.1 USDT | 442.5 USDT | 331.9 USDT |
| 5,000,000 USDT | VIP2 | 3,562.5 USDT | 2,671.9 USDT | 2,137.5 USDT | 1,603.1 USDT |
A regular Bybit user pays 0.100% on spot as both maker and taker, so limit orders don't save anything at VIP0. From VIP1, the 0.0675% spot maker fee is below the 0.080% taker fee.
Worked example: 3M futures and 200,000 spot a month
A VIP0 user who trades manually does 3,000,000 USDT of futures in 30 days (70% taker, 30% maker) and buys 200,000 USDT of spot with market orders, with MNT turned on for both:
- Futures: blended rate 0.7 × 0.055% + 0.3 × 0.02% = 0.0445%, so 1,335 USDT at list price; 1,201.5 USDT after the 10% MNT discount.
- Spot: 0.1% × 200,000 = 200 USDT; 150 USDT after the 25% MNT discount.
- 40% rebate: calculated on the discounted 1,351.5 USDT, 540.6 USDT, paid by Fee Otter.
- Net cost: 1,351.5 − 540.6 = 810.9 USDT, 724.1 USDT less than the 1,535 USDT list price, a 47.2% saving.
The same trader would pay 1,351.5 USDT with MNT alone and 921 USDT with the rebate alone. Someone trading through the API can't use MNT, so 921 USDT is their figure. Fee Otter settles the rebate daily after the 16:00 (UTC+8) data refresh, and you withdraw it on-chain as USDT (BEP20), minimum 1 USDT per request, with a 0.015 USDT network fee paid by you; see How rebates are settled. To run your own numbers, use the effective fee rate calculator.
MNT has costs
- You buy MNT and carry its price risk: at about 0.5378 USDT on Bybit's MNT/USDT market on 2026-10-22. On every 1,000 USDT of spot fees, MNT saves only 150 USDT more once the rebate applies (1,000 × 25% × 60%).
- MNT can also lift your VIP tier: for the asset threshold, MNT is counted at a multiple, 1.5x from non-VIP to VIP1. Bybit estimates about 66,667 USD of MNT for VIP1, roughly 124,000 MNT at that price. That too means holding a volatile asset.
- Futures get only 10% off: if you mostly trade futures, MNT adds little, and the rebate makes most of the difference.

Fee Savers and Fee Discounts: using campaign vouchers
- Trading Fee Saver: works on spot, inverse, USDT and USDC perpetual or futures contracts, and USDC options, offsetting a percentage or a fixed amount of the fee depending on the voucher. It doesn't cover perpetual trades under trading bots or copy trading.
- Fee Discount: applies to the non-VIP rates of your main and sub-accounts, only for orders placed after activation; orders already pending keep the old rate. If your VIP rate is lower, the VIP rate applies.
- Both: must be claimed by a deadline and expire separately after claiming; the reward details page has the dates.
Fee Savers and Fee Discounts are campaign rewards, not standing fee rates; Bybit's campaigns decide whether you get one and how much. Bybit also doesn't say whether fees covered by a voucher count toward referral commission, so while you use one, go by the line-by-line records on the rebate dashboard.
Before you sign up with a code: Pro doesn't apply to referred users
Bybit's Introduction to the VIP Program (last updated 2026-10-22) says: "The Pro status does not apply to Affiliate and Referral users, even if their API trading volume exceeds 20%", so their fees follow their VIP level. Pro is the tier for high-frequency users with more than 20% API volume, with lower maker fees than VIP at the same volume. If you trade mostly through the API at hundreds of millions a month, ask support before you sign up which rate will apply to you; see Fee rebates for high-frequency traders.
If you're already a VIP elsewhere, Bybit's FAQ (updated 2026-08-09) says you can apply with a screenshot of your VIP status on another exchange, or of 10,000,000 USD derivatives or 1,000,000 USD spot volume there, and Bybit replies within 1 to 3 business days. You can also contact Fee Otter support: we work with Bybit's official team to request VIP trials and other perks, or a higher rebate rate, and Bybit decides the outcome.
