WEEX handles KYC through Sumsub: you pick your document country and type, upload the ID, pass a face liveness check, and then a person reviews it, usually within 3 working days. Your verification level changes how much you can withdraw: on the official VIP page, the VIP0 24-hour limit is 10,000 USDT under "Basic verification" and 1,000,000 USDT under "Advanced verification" (checked October 2026).
This guide is based on the WEEX help center articles on KYC and withdrawals: when verification is needed, the web and app steps, the four failure reasons WEEX lists, withdrawal limits by VIP level, how many accounts one identity can cover, and which actions freeze withdrawals for 24 hours. KYC decides which features you can use and how much you can withdraw. Your rebate depends on the referral code: sign up with our code otter123 and bind through Fee Otter for a 70% futures rebate, 3.5 times a common 20% code.
Key points
- Where to submit: "ID Verification" on the website or app, processed by Sumsub.
- Review time: after the liveness check, a manual review that WEEX says usually finishes within 3 working days.
- Common rejections: unclear ID, failed face check due to light or camera, unstable connection, or an ID or face already used on another account.
- Limits: the 24-hour withdrawal limit depends on VIP level and verification column; VIP0 is 10,000 (basic) or 1,000,000 USDT (advanced).
- When it is required: P2P trading always needs KYC, and WEEX reserves the right to require it based on user level.
Is KYC mandatory on WEEX?
You do not have to verify at sign-up; a new account can deposit, trade and bind a rebate right away. The official KYC rules, however, say WEEX will "proactively require users to complete KYC identity verification based on their user's level", after which those restrictions no longer apply. In practice you will meet KYC in these cases:
- P2P fiat trading: the P2P FAQ requires KYC, and you can only trade in the fiat currency of your KYC country or region.
- Higher withdrawal limits: see the table below.
- Large withdrawals or a new withdrawal address: the withdrawal security notice asks you to confirm your identity and wallet address with online support first.
KYC on the website
Following the official web Sumsub guide:
- Log in on the WEEX website and click "ID Verification".
- Click "Verify Now", then "Continue".
- Choose the issuing country or region and the document type, then "Continue".
- Upload the document and click "Continue".
- Get ready for the liveness check, allow camera access and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Wait for the manual review.
KYC in the app
Following the official app guide:
- On the home screen, tap the 9-dot icon in the top left.
- Tap your avatar to open the user menu, then "ID Verification".
- Select your country or region of citizenship.
- Select the issuing country or region and document type, then "Continue".
- Upload the document and tap "Continue".
- Allow camera access, complete the face check and wait for the manual review.
Review time and the four rejection reasons
WEEX says the manual review is usually done within 3 working days. When it fails, the official reasons are:
| Reason | What to do |
|---|---|
| The uploaded ID is unclear or incomplete | Retake it with all four corners visible and no glare |
| Poor lighting, a covered face or a blurry camera made the liveness check fail | Move to good light, remove hat or mask, clean the lens |
| An unstable connection interrupted the upload or check | Switch to a stable network and redo it |
| The same ID or face is already used by another account | Retaking photos will not help; contact support (see next section) |
How many WEEX accounts can one identity cover?
The fourth rejection reason tells you the answer: if your ID or face is already verified on another account, KYC on a new account will not pass. If you are moving to a new account, for example because the old one was not opened with a rebate referral code, contact support from the new account (top right of the app) and ask for the old account's KYC to be transferred instead of submitting again. The full process is in the WEEX rebind guide, and KYC transfer rules across exchanges are in KYC identity transfer and rebates.
WEEX 24-hour withdrawal limits
On 30 April 2025 WEEX removed the per-withdrawal cap and switched to a daily total (official notice). Limits now depend on VIP level and verification column. From the WEEX VIP Program page (USDT, 2026-10-07):
| VIP level | Basic verification (24h) | Advanced verification (24h) |
|---|---|---|
| VIP0 | 10,000 | 1,000,000 |
| VIP1 to VIP3 | 50,000 | 5,000,000 |
| VIP4 to VIP6 | 100,000 | 10,000,000 |
| VIP7 | 200,000 | 12,000,000 |
| VIP8 | 500,000 | 15,000,000 |
A February 2026 WEEX VIP announcement labels these two columns KYC1 and KYC2. How to move up a VIP level (futures volume, WXT holdings or 5-day average assets) is covered in WEEX VIP levels.
Worked example: without advanced verification, how many days to withdraw?
At VIP0, basic verification allows up to 10,000 USDT per 24 hours and advanced verification 1,000,000 USDT, 100 times more. Say you need to withdraw 50,000 USDT:
- Basic verification: at most 10,000 per 24 hours, so 5 withdrawals, and the last one cannot happen before day 5.
- Advanced verification: one withdrawal covers it.
If you hold more than 10,000 USDT, finish advanced verification before you need to withdraw: manual review usually takes 3 working days, so applying at the last minute leaves you waiting.
What freezes withdrawals for 24 hours?
The official withdrawal FAQ says some security actions suspend withdrawals for 24 hours, such as:
- changing your password;
- logging in from a new device;
- withdrawing from different devices within 24 hours.
A withdrawal amount with more than six decimal places will also fail, and every withdrawal goes through a manual review before it is sent on-chain. Withdrawal fees, confirmation times and wrong-network deposits are covered in WEEX deposits and withdrawals.
Does KYC affect the rebate?
No. The rebate depends on the referral code used at sign-up and on binding your UID, not on whether or how far you verified. Binding only needs your UID, never an API key. If you have not signed up yet, use referral code otter123 (steps in how to register on WEEX), then submit your UID on the Fee Otter rebate platform. KYC requirements across exchanges are compared in exchange KYC compared.
