LBank KYC Verification 2026: Documents, Review Time and Rejections

How LBank KYC works: ID plus face check, 5 to 30 minute automated review, web and app steps, the selfie note, rejections, C3 video check, restricted regions.

LBank has one public KYC flow: pick the country that issued your ID and the document type, photograph the document, then complete facial recognition and a liveness check. LBank's FAQ says automated review usually takes 5 to 30 minutes, and complex cases go to manual review, which takes 1 to 3 business days. The LBank User Agreement requires users to complete real-name verification (KYC) after registering and before trading; the KYC FAQ is more cautious, saying that "regions/accounts required to complete KYC" cannot deposit, trade or withdraw until verified. Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, the United States and Canada are on LBank's unsupported list; Indonesia is not (checked 2026-10-19).

This guide is based on the articles in the ID Verification section of LBank's support center, the User Agreement and the Privacy Policy (checked 2026-10-19). It covers whether you need KYC, which regions cannot verify, which documents and photos to prepare, the web and app steps, review times, the rejection reasons LBank lists, how many accounts one document can verify, how to change your name or reset KYC, the video check used when an account is restricted, and how LBank handles your ID data. For a side-by-side view of other exchanges, see our exchange KYC comparison.

LBank does not publish daily withdrawal limits for unverified or verified accounts. We could not find any source in LBank's support center for the "no-KYC limits" quoted around the web; what your account can withdraw is whatever the page shows after you log in.

Does LBank require KYC?

The two official documents word it differently. The User Agreement (2026-07-22) is direct: after registering, the user must provide true identity document information and complete real-name verification before conducting any digital asset transactions. The KYC FAQ (2026-07-24) adds a condition: for "regions/accounts required to complete KYC", deposits, trading and withdrawals are unavailable until verification.

Other LBank pages show that some accounts do exist without KYC. The Google Authenticator reset guide has separate instructions for users who have and have not completed KYC; unverified users submit deposit transaction hashes, tokens traded, login IP and similar details instead (2FA reset request guide). Buying crypto with a card or other fiat method through One-Click Buy prompts you to complete KYC first (One-Click Buy/Sell guide (web)).

In practice, follow the User Agreement and verify right after signing up. If your account is ever restricted by risk control, or you need a 2FA reset or an asset recovery, a verified account has far less to submit.

Which countries and regions cannot verify on LBank

LBank keeps three lists across two documents, and they do not fully match:

ListContents (summary)
User Agreement: no registration or investment fromAfghanistan, Antigua and Barbuda, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Central African Republic, Crimea, Cuba, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Donetsk, Egypt, Guinea-Bissau, Hong Kong SAR, Iran, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Lesotho, Libya, Luhansk, Macao SAR, Mainland China, Mali, Mauritania, North Korea, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan and Darfur, Syria, United States, Uruguay, Yemen, Canada
User Agreement: no services to clients fromMostly the same, plus Belarus; Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Uruguay and a few others are not listed
KYC FAQ: unsupported countries/regionsMostly the same, plus India, Venezuela and Palau

Sources as above, checked 2026-10-19. The User Agreement also says LBank does not provide personal accounts to residents of the United States or Mainland China, or corporate accounts to entities set up or operating there, and that sanctioned countries and listed persons (US, UN, EU and UK sanctions) cannot use the platform. Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, the United States and Canada appear on all three lists. People in those places cannot use LBank, and verifying with another country's ID still breaks the User Agreement.

Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam are on none of the three lists. India appears only on the KYC FAQ list, not in the User Agreement, so Indian users should check which countries the verification page actually offers. LBank updates these lists at any time, and the KYC FAQ notes that its latest legal announcements prevail.

Before you submit: documents and photo rules

The preparation list in LBank's KYC FAQ:

  • Document: passport, national ID or driving license issued by a country LBank supports. The web guide's document menu also includes "Other".
  • Selfie: a front-facing headshot with a handwritten note reading "LBank + YYYY-MM-DD" (today's date).
  • Photo quality: color, clear and unobstructed, with all four corners of the document visible; use plenty of natural light and avoid glare and blur.
  • Originals only: upload a color photo of the physical document. Scans, screenshots, photocopies, black-and-white images and edited photos are rejected.
  • Camera: use your phone's native camera with no beauty filters or effects.
  • Connection: use stable Wi-Fi so the upload is not interrupted.

The web guide also asks for authentic, clear document details, and the User Agreement says LBank can reject a registration or cancel an account if it has reasonable grounds to suspect a false identity.

LBank KYC steps: web and app

Web

  1. Log in to the LBank website and go to Account Security.
  2. Click Identity Verification, then Verification, to start.
  3. Select or search for the Country/Region and Document Type (passport, ID card, driver's license or other), then upload clear photos of the document as prompted.
  4. Click View Our Guidelines to read the facial recognition and liveness instructions, then complete facial recognition on screen.
  5. Submit for review. You are notified when the review is done; if it fails, click Retry. Once approved, your status shows a green checkmark and the verified document name.

App

  1. Log in to the app, tap your avatar at the top left to open Personal Center, tap the orange "Identity Not Verified" label on your profile icon, then tap Identity Verification on the account information page.
  2. Confirm your account information and tap Verify Immediately.
  3. Choose the Country/Region of Your ID and the ID Type, tap Next, confirm, and tap Continue.
  4. Place the document inside the camera frame and take the photo with all key details visible; the system checks it automatically and sends you back to retake an unreadable image.
  5. Complete facial recognition and wait for review. Once approved, the orange label in Personal Center turns into a green "Verified" label.

Steps are based on the KYC guide (web) and KYC guide (app, updated 2026-07-02); button names may change between versions. No account yet? Start with how to register on LBank.

How long does review take, and where is the result?

LBank's FAQ says automated review usually takes 5 to 30 minutes, and complex cases go to manual review, which takes 1 to 3 business days. You can follow progress after logging in by tapping your profile and going to Security, then Identity Verification. If you are rejected, the reason appears on the verification page or in the rejection email. LBank does not say how many attempts you get per day.

If a review seems stuck, use the 24/7 live chat on the website or app, or email service@lbank.com (how to contact online support).

How many accounts can one document verify?

LBank does not state a "maximum N accounts per person" figure the way some exchanges do. One of the rejection reasons it lists is "Document already used (verified on another LBank account)", and the fix it gives is to use a different document, so one document can be used on only one verified LBank account. The User Agreement also bans registering multiple accounts in bad faith for profit-seeking, reward farming and similar purposes, and bans transferring, gifting, lending or leasing your account to anyone without LBank's written consent.

Changing your name, resetting or deleting KYC

The Self-service area on LBank's support center home page has two KYC entries, "Reset/Delete KYC" and "Edit KYC Name". Both are tickets you submit after logging in. LBank has no public article explaining what either request needs or how long it takes, so follow what the ticket page asks for. If your document has expired or your name has changed, use one of these entries or ask live chat first.

When your account is restricted: the C3 video check

If your account is restricted from trading or withdrawing because of unusual activity, LBank asks you to submit a ticket and complete a "C3" video verification (Restricted Account Handling Guide, updated 2026-06-17):

  • Simple C3: write the current date and time and your LBank UID on a sheet of paper, then record one continuous, unedited video holding your ID and the paper, with your face, the ID and the note all clearly visible. Also submit photos of both sides of the ID and the ID number.
  • Complex C3: the same identity video plus a second part showing a screen with the current date and time, where you log out of the LBank app or website and log back in. The account holder must do it personally; you do not show your password.

LBank says that once the video and ID proof are in, the team usually finishes the review within 2 hours and replies through the ticket. You can also email the risk control team at hcd@lbank.com, but use either the ticket or email, not both, or processing slows down. Other reasons withdrawals get held up are covered in LBank deposits and withdrawals.

How your ID data is handled

  • Use and encryption: the KYC FAQ says ID documents are used only for verification, protected with AES-256 encryption and multi-layer firewalls, and shared only with authorized institutions when regulations require it.
  • Third-party verification providers: the Privacy Policy says LBank obtains data from identity verification partners and public databases, and shares data with third-party identity verification and fraud-prevention providers, whose derived data may only be used for those services.
  • Not sold: without your prior explicit consent, LBank will not sell or lend your personal information to third parties.
  • Retention: after your account is closed, LBank keeps your personal information for at least five years, or longer where law or dispute handling requires.
  • Law enforcement: the User Agreement says LBank may provide user data, or freeze or transfer account funds, when law enforcement or judicial authorities request it.

One more User Agreement rule matters for deposits: to protect your assets, the name of the remitter must match the name on your real-name verification. When you pay through P2P or a fiat channel, pay from an account in your own name.

Regional and regulatory notes

Indonesia is not on LBank's restricted lists, but in Indonesia crypto trading may only be offered by OJK-licensed firms, and the blocking-request list published by OJK's Satgas PASTI in June 2026 includes "LBK Blockchain Co Limited" (OJK press release). Japan's Financial Services Agency sent LBank Exchange a warning for operating without registration on 2024-06-14 (Japan FSA), and the Ontario Securities Commission issued an investor warning on 2025-08-27 (OSC warning). LBank's company and licence background is in our LBank review, and country-by-country rules are in exchange licences compared.

Submit KYC only on the Identity Verification page of the official LBank app or website. Ignore anyone who asks you to send ID photos, selfies or C3 videos over Telegram, LINE or a third-party site to "handle verification" or "unfreeze your account". If someone claims to be LBank support, check the website, email or Telegram account on LBank's official verification page. LBank says it never asks for funds or tokens by private message and never asks for your password.
