HTX (formerly Huobi) calls its VIP program Prime, running from Prime 0 to Prime 11. Regular users are Prime 0: spot maker and taker are both 0.2%, and USDT-margined futures are 0.02% maker and 0.06% taker. Prime 1 is easy to reach, with 30,000 USDT of 30-day spot volume or 300,000 USDT of futures volume, and cuts spot to 0.16%/0.17% and futures taker to 0.055%. Prime 5 (SVIP), with a 0.038% futures taker fee, normally takes 100 million USDT of 30-day futures volume (compiled from HTX official announcements, checked 2026-10-17).
This guide covers the Prime 0 to 11 rates and thresholds from HTX's announcement, how the four upgrade routes work (total assets, spot volume, futures volume and $HTX holdings), where $HTX fee deduction stands, and the effective fee once you add a rebate on top of a Prime rate. Prime has to be earned with volume or holdings; a rebate applies to every trade once you bind. Sign up with our code FEEOTTER and bind through Fee Otter for a 50% HTX futures rebate (30% automatic exchange rebate + 20% extra rebate), 2.5 times a common 20% code.
Key points
- Prime 0 rates: spot 0.2%/0.2%; futures maker 0.02%, taker 0.06%.
- Any one of four routes: total assets, 30-day spot volume (including margin), 30-day futures volume (USDT-M plus Coin-M) or $HTX holdings. Prime 10 and 11 are volume only.
- Prime 1 is a low bar: 30,000 USDT of spot or 300,000 USDT of futures over 30 days, or 5,000 USDT in total assets.
- Only $HTX deduction remains: TRX fee deduction ended on March 31, 2026.
- Rebates stack: Prime lowers the listed rate; the rebate refunds part of the fee you actually pay.
HTX Prime 0 to Prime 11: rates and thresholds
From HTX's Major Update to Prime Membership Level-Up Methods (HTX Boost+), effective June 25, 2025, checked 2026-10-17. Meeting any one threshold is enough:
| Level | 30-day spot volume | 30-day futures volume | Total assets | $HTX holdings | Spot maker/taker | Futures maker/taker |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Prime 0 | under 30k | under 300k | under 5,000 | under 1,000 | 0.20%/0.20% | 0.020%/0.060% |
| Prime 1 | 30k | 300k | 5,000 | 1,000 | 0.16%/0.17% | 0.018%/0.055% |
| Prime 2 | 120k | 5M | 20k | 4,000 | 0.14%/0.15% | 0.016%/0.050% |
| Prime 3 | 600k | 10M | 60k | 12k | 0.10%/0.10% | 0.014%/0.045% |
| Prime 4 | 3M | 20M | 100k | 20k | 0.08%/0.10% | 0.012%/0.040% |

| Prime 6 | 40M | 300M | 300k | 60k | 0.05%/0.07% | 0.006%/0.035% |
| Prime 7 | 80M | 500M | 600k | 120k | 0.04%/0.05% | 0.004%/0.032% |
| Prime 8 | 160M | 600M | 1.2M | 240k | 0.03%/0.035% | 0.002%/0.030% |
| Prime 9 | 300M | 700M | 3M | 600k | 0.0224%/0.0318% | 0.001%/0.028% |
| Prime 10 | 900M | 1B | n/a | n/a | 0.0168%/0.0268% | 0.0005%/0.0265% |
| Prime 11 | 1.8B | 1.5B | n/a | n/a | 0.0126%/0.0218% | 0%/0.025% |
All figures are in USDT; $HTX holdings are counted at their USDT value. HTX's September 2026 Direct Prime 5 Access announcement also says the standard requirement for Prime 5 is 100 million USDT of 30-day futures volume, which matches this table. HTX's fee page only loads in a browser, and we could not retrieve it this time, so your actual level and rates are whatever "My Fee Rates" shows in your account. For maker vs taker, see maker and taker fees explained.
How the four upgrade routes work
Per the same announcement, meeting any of these triggers an upgrade:
- Total assets: the combined balance across your Spot, Futures and Earn accounts.
- 30-day spot volume: spot and margin trades.
- 30-day futures volume: USDT-margined and coin-margined futures.
- $HTX holdings (HTX Boost+): HTX takes random daily snapshots of $HTX (HTX DAO) in your Spot, Earn and Futures accounts and values them at the official price at 00:00 (UTC+8) the next day. $HTX also counts 1.5x toward total assets.
Prime 10 and 11 have no asset or $HTX route; you can only reach them with volume. We did not find HTX help center pages on downgrade rules or how long a level lasts.
The futures route is steep compared with other exchanges: Prime 2 needs 5 million USDT of 30-day futures volume and Prime 3 needs 10 million. VIP thresholds across exchanges are compared in exchange VIP tiers compared.
$HTX fee deduction: TRX has ended
HTX's Notice Regarding the Discontinuation of TRX Trading Fee Deductions says TRX can no longer be used to pay trading fees from March 31, 2026, 16:00 (UTC). $HTX deduction is not affected and can be enabled under "My Fee Rates" in the app.
On discount size: the March 2024 TRX deduction launch announcement said TRX deduction gave an extra 25% off spot fees and 5% off futures fees on top of your Prime rate, and that TRX and HTX could not be enabled at the same time. The current $HTX discount is on HTX's "Fee Rate Rules" page, which we could not retrieve this time; check "My Fee Rates".
Other ways up
- Prime 5 is SVIP: HTX's promotion pages call Prime 5 members SVIPs.
- VIP match from other exchanges: from July 18 to August 31, 2025, HTX ran an event that gave VIPs from other exchanges a +2 level boost and a 30-day trial after uploading a screenshot (official announcement). It has ended, and the help center does not say whether a standing application channel exists.
- Invite-only events: for example, the September 2026 Direct Prime 5 event was open only to users who received an official invitation or notification.
If you trade large volume and want to know which benefits you could get, you can also ask Fee Otter support first.
Your rebate after a Prime upgrade: effective fees
The rebate is based on the fee you actually pay. A higher Prime level lowers the rate, and the rebate is calculated on that lower rate:
Effective fee: Prime rate × (1 − rebate rate)
Using futures taker rates and Fee Otter's 50% futures rebate (30% automatic exchange rebate + 20% extra rebate):
| Scenario | Listed taker | Calculation | Effective taker |
|---|---|---|---|
| Prime 0, no rebate | 0.060% | n/a | 0.060% |
| Prime 0 + common 20% code | 0.060% | 0.06% × (1 − 20%) | 0.048% |
| Prime 0 + Fee Otter 50% | 0.060% | 0.06% × (1 − 50%) | 0.030% |
| Prime 1 + Fee Otter 50% | 0.055% | 0.055% × (1 − 50%) | 0.0275% |
| Prime 5 + Fee Otter 50% | 0.038% | 0.038% × (1 − 50%) | 0.019% |
| Prime 8, no rebate | 0.030% | n/a | 0.030% |
Prime 0 with a 50% rebate comes to 0.03%, the same as Prime 8's listed rate without a rebate, and Prime 8 needs 600 million USDT of 30-day futures volume. For spot, at 45% (30% automatic exchange rebate + 15% extra rebate), Prime 0's 0.2% becomes 0.11% and Prime 3's 0.1% becomes 0.055%.
In money terms: 2 million USDT of 30-day futures volume, all taker, puts you in Prime 1 (300k or more, under 5M) at 0.055%, so 1,100 USDT in fees. Fee Otter returns 50%, or 550 USDT, leaving 550 USDT; a common 20% code returns only 220, leaving 880 USDT. Reaching Prime 2 would take 5 million of 30-day futures volume.
Under the HTX referral program rules, rewards are based on net fees actually paid, excluding trades that use spot cashback vouchers, futures trial bonuses, zero fees, negative fees or designated pairs; the rules do not say how fees paid with $HTX deduction are counted. The figures above use listed rates from HTX's announcement; your trade history and rebate statement are what count. Payout details are in how fee rebates are settled. The rebate covers trading fees only, not funding or borrowing interest. If you are already a VIP on an exchange and want to switch accounts or sign up elsewhere, contact support; we can help request special trading benefits or a higher rebate.
Which path makes sense?
- Up to a few million USDT of futures a month: you will mostly sit at Prime 0 or 1, so binding a rebate first does far more.
- Mainly spot: HTX's Prime 0 spot rate is 0.2%, and 30,000 USDT of 30-day spot volume reaches Prime 1; with the 45% rebate, the Prime 1 taker rate works out to about 0.094%.
- You already hold $HTX: 1,000 USDT worth gets you Prime 1, but you carry the price risk; if you would be buying it just to level up, count that risk.
- Large balances: 5,000 USDT in total assets reaches Prime 1 and 150,000 reaches Prime 5. For the risks of keeping funds on an exchange, see exchange proof of reserves compared.
Where HTX operates
Under clause 1.2 of the HTX Platform User Agreement (updated September 2026, checked 2026-10-17), HTX provides no services in mainland China, the United States, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Myanmar, occupied Ukrainian regions including Crimea, Russia and all EU member states. Israel, Iraq, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Ecuador, Kyrgyzstan and New Zealand cannot trade derivatives, so only the spot rates above apply there. For licensing by country, see exchange licenses by country.
Risks
Inflating volume to reach a higher level usually costs more in fees and market risk than the lower rate saves. In May 2026 the UK government added Huobi Global S.A., which operates HTX, to its Russia sanctions list (UK government notice); UK residents should not use it. Keep only the funds you are trading on the exchange and move long-term holdings to your own wallet.
HTX Prime and your rebate
HTX's two-layer rebate and the amounts at different volumes are in the HTX fee rebate guide, and a comparison with Gate is in HTX vs Gate rebates. If you have not signed up yet, use the code FEEOTTER (steps in how to register on HTX), then submit your UID on the Fee Otter rebate platform. HTX referral codes cannot be changed once bound; if you used someone else's code, see the HTX rebind guide.
