Bybit signup in short (checked 2026-10-22): sign up with an email or phone number and enter FEEOTTER in "Referral code (optional)". You need Standard KYC before you can deposit or trade; review usually takes about 15 minutes and at most 48 hours. Then bind your UID on Fee Otter for a 40% fee rebate (all paid by Fee Otter). Already registered without a code? A main account can still add one within 14 days of signup (how to add it); after 14 days, see the rebind guide.
To register on Bybit, follow six steps: open the official signup page through Fee Otter's dedicated link, choose your country of residence and enter an email or phone number, check that "Referral code (optional)" shows our code FEEOTTER, pass the captcha and verification code and set a password, complete KYC, then deposit, trade and bind your UID on Fee Otter. Signing up needs no documents, but Bybit requires at least Standard KYC for every product, so you can't deposit or trade until it's done; review usually takes about 15 minutes and can take up to 48 hours (checked 2026-10-18). One person can also verify one account each with a driver's license, passport and national ID. If you miss the code, you can still add it within 14 days of signup. With our code the rebate is 40% (all paid by Fee Otter; Bybit has no automatic layer), double a typical 20% referral code.
This guide follows Bybit's help center articles on registration, KYC, verification codes and identity transfer: who can sign up, what to prepare, how the app and website differ, how long each step takes, how to fix common errors, and what to do if you already have an account.
Who can register on Bybit? Countries, age and account limits
Bybit's excluded jurisdictions are the United States, mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, North Korea, Cuba, Iran, Uzbekistan, Crimea (including Sevastopol) and the non-government-controlled areas of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia, Sudan and Syria (Bybit Service Restricted Countries, page updated 2026-10-16, checked 2026-10-18). Bybit's KYC FAQ adds that these restrictions are based on your nationality, not where you live now.
- Age: users under 18 cannot use Bybit, and KYC will be rejected (KYC failure reasons).
- Accounts: each email address and each phone number can be linked to only one account. For KYC, your driver's license, passport, and national ID card can each verify one account, so one person can have up to three verified accounts.
- Redirected after choosing a country: step 2 of signup asks for your country of residence; some countries are sent to a Bybit regional site or shown a restriction notice (Bybit registration guide).
- Indonesia: the blocking-request list published by OJK's Satgas PASTI in June 2026 includes Bybit's global entity (Bybit Fintech Limited) (OJK release).
Rebates exclude more regions than signup does: under clause 11 of the Bybit Affiliate Program Terms, residents of Hong Kong, mainland China, the EU, the UK, the US, Singapore, Canada, Australia and certain other regions are outside the affiliate program, so users there cannot receive rebates.
Before you sign up, check two things: your nationality is not on Bybit's restricted list, and where you live is not excluded by the affiliate terms. Otherwise you may open an account and still get no rebate.
What does the Bybit signup page look like?
On the Bybit signup page you can create an account with an email or phone number. The referral code field is labeled "Referral code (optional)". Bybit's help pages call it the Affiliate Code, and the English interface says "Referral code". They all mean the same field. When you arrive through our dedicated link, our code FEEOTTER is filled in automatically.
What do you need before signing up?
- An email address or phone number: Bybit recommends email, because withdrawals always require email and Google Authenticator checks. It also suggests a provider you'll keep using, such as Gmail, iCloud or ProtonMail.
- The right phone format: pick the country code, then enter the number without its leading zero. For example, 090-1234-5678 becomes 9012345678.
- A decision on which ID to use for KYC: your driver's license, passport, and national ID card can each verify only one account. If you want a second account later, the ID you haven't used yet is your backup. The document must be the physical original issued by your country; e-copies, scans, and student, work or travel visas are not accepted (Bybit Individual KYC FAQ).
- A device with a camera: you can do the face scan with a laptop camera or scan a QR code and finish on your phone.
- An authenticator app, plus an anti-phishing code you have picked out.
Bybit signup steps
Step 1: Open the Bybit signup page through the dedicated link
The link fills in our code FEEOTTER. If you open the site yourself, click Sign Up at the top right; in the app, look for "Referral code (optional)" on the signup screen.
Step 2: Choose your country of residence and enter an email or phone number
Choose the country you actually live in. You can also sign up with a Google, Apple (iOS) or Telegram account. Type everything in single-byte letters and numbers, not full-width characters.
Step 3: Check the referral code before you tap Sign Up
Bybit's registration guide says the referral or affiliate code cannot be added, changed or deleted once the account exists. A separate affiliate article does allow one late addition for main accounts that are within 14 days of signup and have no referrer yet. The safe move is to look before you submit, and use the 14-day window only if you really missed it (see "The first thing to do after signup" below).
Step 4: Pass the captcha, enter the code and set a password
After the reCAPTCHA, enter the code sent to your email or phone, then set your password; you land on your account dashboard. We suggest setting an anti-phishing code at the same time. Every email Bybit sends you afterward will include it.
Step 5: Complete identity verification (KYC)
An account without KYC can't deposit or trade, so don't skip this. Details are in the KYC section below.
Step 6: Deposit, trade and bind your UID
Bybit is mainly a futures exchange. Its futures taker fee of 0.055% is a little higher than the 0.05% at most exchanges, so use limit orders when you can. The number under your avatar is your UID. Go to the Fee Otter rebate dashboard, choose Bybit, and paste it in.
Bybit sign up on the app vs the website: what's different?
The fields and rules are the same on both: email or phone signup, the "Referral code (optional)" field, the 14-day late addition and KYC all work in the app and on the web. The real differences are these:
| Item | Website | App |
| One-tap signup | Google, Telegram | Google, Telegram, plus Apple on iOS |
| Face scan | Laptop camera, or scan a QR code to finish on your phone | Phone camera directly |
| Apple "Hide My Email" | Not applicable | Creates an @privaterelay.appleid.com address that forwards to your Apple ID email |
If you signed up with Hide My Email and Bybit's emails don't arrive, check the forwarding address under iPhone Settings → iCloud → Hide My Email. Also note that Bybit Testnet (the demo environment) has its own signup. It is not a real account and earns no rebate.
Based on the Bybit registration guide (page updated 2026-08-17) and the KYC how-to, checked 2026-10-18.
How long do Bybit signup and KYC take?
Signup itself is just entering details, getting a code and setting a password, and Bybit gives no time for it. The time goes into KYC and a few waiting periods:
| Stage | Time |
| KYC review | Usually about 15 minutes, up to 48 hours; open a support case after 48 hours |
| Resubmitting after a rejection | Result within 15 to 20 minutes |
| More than 5 rejections in 24 hours | Wait another 24 hours before resubmitting |
| Face-scan page won't open | Try again after 30 minutes |
| Too many code requests | Wait 15 minutes before requesting again |
| Adding the referral code late | Within 14 days of signup |
| KYC identity transfer | Available 24 hours after KYC; withdrawals and fiat on both accounts are restricted for 24 hours afterward |
| Fee Otter rebate credited | Usually T+1 to your withdrawable balance on the rebate dashboard |

Bybit KYC: how many accounts can one person verify?
Bybit identity verification requires an ID plus a face scan. Unlike most exchanges, your driver's license, passport, and national ID card can each verify a different account, so one person can have up to three verified accounts. That also makes rebinding on Bybit easier than on most exchanges. You just open a new account with the ID you haven't used yet. Subaccounts can't do KYC.
To move to a new account, you have two routes: verify it with an ID you haven't used yet, or use Bybit's official KYC identity transfer.
KYC has three levels, and Standard is the minimum for any product:
| Level | What you submit | Daily withdrawal limit (non-VIP) |
| No KYC | Nothing | No deposits, no trading; existing assets can be withdrawn up to 20,000 USDT a day and 100,000 USDT a month |
| Standard | Identity assessment + proof of identity (POI) + face scan | 1M USDT, no monthly limit |
| Advanced | Proof of address (POA) dated within 3 months | 2M USDT, no monthly limit |
| Pro | Enhanced due diligence (questionnaire and proof of income) | See the official page |

Identity transfer conditions: the old account's KYC must be at least 24 hours old and the target account must be unverified. After the transfer, withdrawals and fiat features on both accounts are restricted for 24 hours. Only your verified identity moves; referral codes, affiliate codes, assets, email and phone number do not, so the new account has to be registered through our dedicated link to carry our code (see the Bybit official identity transfer guide). The full walkthrough is in KYC identity transfer and rebates, and other exchanges' rules are in our exchange KYC comparison.
Bybit signup problems: no verification code, KYC failed
| What you see | Usual cause | What to do |
| No email verification code | Filtered as spam, or too many requests in a short time | Check spam, whitelist Bybit's sending addresses, retry in an incognito window; if it still doesn't come, wait 15 minutes |
| Email or phone can't be used | Already linked to another Bybit account | Each email and phone links to one account only; log in to that account or use a different email |
| Phone number rejected | Leading zero included | Select the country code and drop the leading 0 |
| KYC says this ID already verified another account | Each type of ID can verify only one account | Use a driver's license, passport or national ID you haven't used yet, or use the KYC identity transfer |
| Document photo rejected | Screenshot, scan, photocopy, black and white, glare, cropped corners or an expired ID | Photograph the physical original in color, all four corners visible, name and birth date readable |
| Face scan fails | Too dark, shaking, or more than one person in frame | Move to good light, center your face, turn slowly; if the page won't open, retry after 30 minutes |
| KYC rejected for region or age | Nationality on the restricted list, or under 18 | You can't use Bybit; open a support case to appeal |
Forgetting the referral code is common too: within 14 days, add it under "Join an Affiliate's Community". The steps are below.
Who is Bybit for?
Bybit is a derivatives exchange that started with futures trading, ranked third by trading volume on CoinGlass. It suits you if you mainly trade futures and trade often.
The Bybit rebate is a single rate of 40%. It does not have the two layers of "20% automatic from the exchange + extra rebate".
What are Bybit's fees?
These are the list fees for regular Bybit users:
| Trade type | Maker | Taker | Platform token discount |
| Spot | 0.10% | 0.10% | Pay fees in MNT: 25% off spot, 10% off futures |
| USDT-margined futures | 0.02% | 0.055% |
Fees verified: 2026-09-24 (Bybit official fee page) · Data sources and methodology
This table shows list prices as of September 2026. Bybit may change them. For the latest fees, see the Bybit official fee page.
Correction: Bybit now lets you pay trading fees in its MNT token for 25% off spot fees and 10% off futures fees. You switch on "Using MNT for fee discount" under Fee Rate on the trading page, separately for spot and futures and separately for the main account and each subaccount. It doesn't apply to API orders, trading bots, copy trading (followers) or liquidation orders (Bybit FAQ on paying fees with MNT, checked 2026-10-22). A futures taker fee of 0.055% becomes 0.0495%. Bybit's page doesn't say how fees paid in MNT count toward affiliate commission. Our rebate is calculated on the fees the exchange reports as paid, so if you use MNT, go by the line-by-line records on the rebate dashboard.
How does Bybit's net fee compare with similar exchanges?
The list fee is only the starting point. The "net taker" fee after you bind for rebates is what you actually pay on every futures market order (net fee = list fee × (1 − rebate rate)):
| Exchange | Futures taker list fee | Net taker after rebate |
| Bybit | 0.055% | 0.033% |
| Binance | 0.05% | 0.03% |
| OKX | 0.05% | 0.04% |
| Bitget | 0.06% | 0.03% |
On net taker alone, Binance (0.03%) is lower than Bybit (0.033%). The reasons to choose Bybit are usually outside fees: products, liquidity, or features you already use.
Data from the September 2026 Exchange Fee and Rebate Index (fees verified 2026-09-24). OKX is a 20% auto-rebate + exclusive rewards.
What is the cheapest way to place your first futures order?
Take 2,500 USDT of margin at 20x leverage. The notional position is 50,000 USDT. Fees are charged on the notional position, not the margin. On Bybit:
- Market order (taker 0.055%): the opening fee is 27.5 USDT. After binding, 11 USDT comes back, so you pay 16.5 USDT.
- Filled limit order (maker 0.02%): the opening fee is 10 USDT. 4 USDT comes back, so you pay 6 USDT.
Counting opening and closing as one round trip, you pay 33 USDT with market orders and 12 USDT with limit orders. Use limit orders when you can, then add the rebate on top. That is the most direct way to save on Bybit.
How is the rebate calculated after you sign up with a referral code?
The Bybit rebate is a single rate. After you bind your UID, it is 40%. Spot and futures are the same, and Fee Otter settles all of it.
How much can you save in a month?
Here are three trading volumes, calculated with Bybit's futures list taker fee:
| Monthly futures volume | Monthly fees | Refund with a typical 20% code | Refund with our code (40%) |
| 100,000 USDT | 55 | 11 | 22 |
| 500,000 USDT | 275 | 55 | 110 |
| 2,000,000 USDT | 1,100 | 220 | 440 |
All figures assume market orders (taker 0.055%), in USDT per month.
When does the rebate arrive, and where can you see it?
Bybit has no "automatic refund from the exchange" layer. Fee Otter settles the full 40%. After the exchange publishes its daily report, each trade is matched to your UID, and the amount is usually added to your available balance on the rebate dashboard on T+1. The upside is that you only need to check one place. The rebate dashboard lists the fee and rate for every entry.
The most common mistakes new Bybit users make
- Missing the 14-day window. If you forgot the referral code, you can still add it as long as you're within 14 days of signup, on the main account, and have no referrer. After that, the only option is rebinding.
- Adding the code on a subaccount. Late addition only works on the main account.
- Opening a new account with an ID you already used. Each type of ID can verify only one account. To rebind, use the one you haven't used yet.
- Trying to deposit before KYC. Accounts without KYC can't deposit, so finish Standard KYC first.
- Assuming the rebate has two layers. Bybit's rebate is a single rate (40%). There's no "20% automatic from the exchange + extra" split, and Fee Otter settles all of it.
The first thing to do after signup
- Check your referrer within 14 days: go to "Profile → Account → Account Info → Join Affiliate Community" and confirm you are bound. If it is empty, enter our affiliate ID 163627 (the form only accepts the numeric ID, not the referral code) right there (see the Bybit official guide for the steps).
- Bind your UID: rebates count from fees generated after you bind.
- Set up 2FA and an anti-phishing code.
Already have a Bybit account?
Within 14 days of signup, just add the code. After that, use Bybit's official KYC identity transfer, or open a new account through our dedicated link with an ID you haven't used yet. For the full conditions of all three methods, see the Bybit rebind guide for existing users, and the screens for the late addition are in how to add a Bybit affiliate code.

Risks to know before using Bybit
Bybit’s rebate terms are solid, but know these risks before you deposit:
- A major 2025 hack, with client assets restored: on 21 February 2025 about $1.5 billion was stolen from a Bybit Ethereum cold wallet, which the FBI attributed to North Korean hackers (FBI notice). Bybit closed the ETH gap within about 72 hours, keeping client assets backed 1:1 (CoinDesk).
- Third-party rating: CoinGecko gives Bybit a trust score of 8/10; the score weighs volume legitimacy, liquidity, cybersecurity and past incidents, and is not a guarantee for your assets.
- Don’t keep long-term or large balances on the exchange: keep only the funds you are actively trading; withdraw money you aren’t trading and anything you hold long term.
- Use a cold wallet for long-term holdings: move large, long-term assets to a hardware cold wallet (such as a Ledger) and keep them offline.
- Futures and high leverage are high risk: the higher the leverage, the easier it is to be liquidated. Beginners should avoid high leverage and learn the rules with small amounts first.
FAQ
How do I register on Bybit?
Open the signup page through the dedicated link, choose your country, enter an email or phone, check the referral code is FEEOTTER, pass the captcha and verification code, set a password, then complete KYC. The app and website have the same fields.
Do I need KYC to sign up for Bybit?
Signing up needs no documents, but every Bybit product requires at least Standard KYC, and without it you can't deposit or trade. Review usually takes about 15 minutes and up to 48 hours.
Can I add a referral code after joining Bybit?
Yes, within 14 days of signup, on the main account, if you have no referrer yet. Go to "Join an Affiliate's Community" and enter our affiliate ID 163627. Once added, it can't be removed or changed.
Which countries can't register on Bybit?
The US, mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, North Korea, Cuba, Iran, Uzbekistan, Sudan, Syria, and Crimea plus some non-government-controlled areas of Ukraine. The restriction is based on nationality. Rebates also exclude the EU, the UK, Australia and others under the affiliate terms.
How many Bybit accounts can one person have?
Each email and each phone number links to one account. For KYC, your driver's license, passport, and national ID card can each verify one account, for up to three verified accounts. You can also move KYC to a new account with the official identity transfer; assets, positions and referral codes don't move with it.
What if I don't get the Bybit verification code?
Check your spam folder, whitelist Bybit's sending addresses and request again in an incognito window. Too many requests trigger a pause, so wait 15 minutes before trying again.
