Bybit trading bots charge no usage fee, only trading fees when orders fill: Spot Grid and DCA pay the spot rate (0.1% at VIP0), while Futures Grid, Futures Martingale and Futures Combo pay the USDT perpetual rate (0.02% maker, 0.055% taker at VIP0) plus the usual funding fees. Bybit currently offers six bots: Spot Grid, Futures Grid, DCA, Futures Martingale (up to 50x), Futures Combo and TradFi Combo (checked 2026-10-22). Sign up with our code FEEOTTER and bind your UID on Fee Otter for a 40% Bybit rebate, all of it Fee Otter's extra rebate; Bybit's affiliate terms don't say item by item whether bot trades count, and the official wording is quoted below.
This guide is based on the trading bot articles in the Bybit Help Center. It covers what each bot does, the limits Bybit publishes, what happens when the price leaves the range or you stop a bot, how fees are charged, and our own example of fees and rebates. Bots trade often, so fees add up faster than with manual trading: bind code FEEOTTER on Fee Otter and get a 40% Bybit rebate, 2× the 20% most codes give.

Minimum investments depend on the pair and parameters and are shown on the creation page. Spot Grid, Futures Grid, DCA and Futures Martingale can all use "AI Strategy", where the system suggests parameters from historical data, or be set up manually.
Spot Grid: limits and leaving the range
- Price limits: the upper price can be set from market price × 0.8 to × 3, and the lower price from market price × 0.3 to × 1.2.
- Grid count: 2 to 200. Bybit says a narrower range lowers the maximum grid count, so that grid profit stays above trading fees in normal markets.
- Leaving the range: no new orders are placed while the price is outside the range, and the bot resumes when it returns; Bybit suggests deciding whether to terminate based on your own preferences.
- Profits: realized grid profit can be withdrawn to your Funding Account, but the initial investment must stay in the bot. On termination you can settle in both coins or in a single coin; a single coin means a market conversion and one more spot fee.
- Liquidation: Spot Grid runs on the spot market, and Bybit says there is no liquidation risk.
Grid profit only becomes yours after two fees: a buy and a sell each pay 0.1% at VIP0, so a 0.3% profit per grid leaves about 0.1% after 0.2% in fees. Bybit also notes that sell quantities are smaller than buy quantities because the spot fee is taken from the coin you bought.
Futures Grid: three directions, liquidation and automatic closing
- Directions: long (opens a long at market on creation), short (opens a short at market) and neutral (no initial position; positions open as grid prices are hit).
- Margin mode: each bot uses cross margin in one-way mode with its own funds; its profit and loss is not netted against other bots or your regular futures positions.
- Liquidation: the bot is liquidated when its maintenance margin rate reaches 100%. Bybit says the most you can lose is the amount invested in that bot, and other positions are not affected.
- Leaving the range: open positions stay open and no new orders are placed, so losses can keep growing in a one-way market.
- Automatic closing: the bot ends when take-profit, stop-loss or liquidation is triggered; a trailing stop based on peak equity is also available.
- Fees and funding: charged at USDT perpetual rates, with funding paid or received at each settlement interval of the contract.
DCA: no liquidation, optional Flexible Savings
The DCA bot runs on spot only. It buys 1 to 5 coins with USDT or USDC at intervals of 10 minutes; 1, 4, 8 or 12 hours; 1 day; or 1, 2 or 4 weeks. By default the coins bought go into Flexible Savings to earn yield, and that setting can't be changed after creation. If the Funding Account runs short, the bot pauses instead of closing and resumes at the next scheduled time once funds are back. DCA bots and Spot Grid bots together are capped at 50 running at once.
Futures Martingale: up to 50x, the riskiest bot
- How it works: each time the price moves a set percentage against you, the bot adds a position sized at the previous opening cost × the multiplier (1 to 2). When the per-round profit target is reached it closes everything, and with "Enable Loop" on it starts the next round.
- Limits: it only trades within the first risk limit tier of the contract, which is a position value of up to 2,000,000 USDT for BTCUSDT; only the stop-loss can be changed after creation; it can't run on a subaccount; bonuses and fee savers aren't supported yet.
- Take-profit slippage: the take-profit is a conditional market order, so on thin pairs a round can end at a loss even after the take-profit price is reached.
- Bybit's own warning: losses can be unlimited if the market keeps moving against you, and Bybit says to set a stop-loss.
Futures Combo and TradFi Combo
Futures Combo builds a portfolio of 2 to 10 USDT perpetual contracts, each long or short, and rebalances to target weights by threshold or on a schedule. It trades only within the first risk limit tier (300,000 USDT for BTCUSDT), works on subaccounts, and closes entirely if any contract is delisted. Bybit says Futures Combo volume counts toward total derivatives volume.
TradFi Combo uses the same logic for gold, silver, forex, index and US stock CFDs on MT5, but only during the underlying markets' trading hours, and rebalancing pauses while a market is closed. It supports Tight-Spread mode only, fees follow TradFi rules (a commission per lot), and positions are closed out when the margin level falls to 50%. For gold and forex CFD fees and account modes, see Bybit TradFi gold and forex fees.
How to start your first bot
Verify your identity
every bot requires individual identity verification first (the FAQs say Lv. 1 or Standard). On Bybit, a driver's licence, a passport and an ID card can each verify one account.Fund the Funding Account
bots draw from the Funding Account, and the system transfers the investment when you create one; Futures Grid and Futures Martingale currently take USDT only.Pick a bot and a mode
on the Trading Bots page, choose the type, then AI Strategy or Manual, and set the range, grid count, leverage or DCA frequency.Set take-profit and stop-loss
always set a stop-loss on futures bots; Spot Grid and Futures Grid also offer a trailing stop.Monitor and terminate
check orders and P&L under My Bots; after termination, your investment and profit return to the Funding Account automatically.
How bot fees are charged
| Bot | How fees are charged (Bybit's wording) | VIP0 rate |
|---|---|---|
| Spot Grid | Same as the spot fee structure, only when orders fill; no other fee to create a bot | 0.1% / 0.1% |
| DCA | Same as spot trading rates | 0.1% (orders are market orders) |
| Futures Grid | Same as USDT perpetual rates, plus funding | 0.02% maker, 0.055% taker |
| Futures Martingale, Futures Combo | Same as other derivatives trading, plus funding | 0.02% maker, 0.055% taker |
| TradFi Combo | Same as Bybit TradFi trading | Commission per lot, e.g. $6 per lot on forex and metals |
Rates from the Bybit trading fee structure (updated 2026-09-02) and the bot FAQs above, checked 2026-10-22. Bybit notes that actual rates may vary by region; the My Fee Rate page after verification is authoritative. Order type matters too: per Bybit's comparison table, Grid and Martingale bots open with a market order and continue with limit orders, DCA uses market orders only, and the Martingale take-profit is a market order. Market orders pay 0.055% while resting limit orders usually pay 0.02%, close to a 3× gap inside the same bot.
Do bot trades earn a rebate? What Bybit's official text says
Short answer: Bybit's affiliate program text doesn't name trading bots at all. It neither includes nor excludes them. Here is the official wording we found:
- Affiliate terms (Bybit Affiliate Program Terms, effective 2026-09-01), section 9.1: commissions are based on fees paid by "eligible Clients", after deducting trading fee discounts offered to certain groups, fees paid to third-party market makers and "Other Fees", defined as fees from the client's use of third-party trading tools, bonuses received, and other costs. There is no product list and no mention of Bybit's own bots.
- Affiliate FAQ (Affiliate Program FAQ, updated 2026-09-19): the base is "trading fees − market maker rebates − bonuses/coupons", and users in other Bybit rebate or discount programs may not count.
- Broker program (API Broker Program FAQ, updated 2026-08-28): trading bot platforms are among the eligible businesses, and Bybit states that when a user registered under an affiliate trades through the broker program, the affiliate rebate is capped at 45%. This covers third-party platforms connected to Bybit, not Bybit's own bots.
- A different program's wording: Bybit's Referral Program for regular users (separate from the affiliate program Fee Otter uses) says in its FAQ (updated 2026-10-10) that referrers earn commission on referees' subaccount, copy trading account and trading bot account trades, and that API volume counts. That applies to the Referral Program only and can't be carried over to the affiliate program.
So check your rebate records. Fee Otter's rebate dashboard lists each day's fees and rebates line by line, so after a few days of running a bot you can see whether its fills appear; contact support if anything looks off. Exchanges differ here: MEXC's affiliate FAQ states outright that API orders earn no commission. Funding fees, bonuses and loss cover vouchers are not trading fees and aren't covered.
