There is one way into Binance HODLer Airdrops: subscribe BNB to Simple Earn (Flexible or Locked) or On-Chain Yields. Binance later works out rewards from your hourly average balance over a past period and sends the tokens straight to your Spot account, with nothing to claim. Launchpool means locking BNB (and for some projects USDC or other tokens) during a farming period, with rewards accruing every hour and claimable at any time. Neither charges a trading fee, so neither earns a rebate; the fee you pay when you sell the airdropped tokens on spot is what Fee Otter returns 40% of (20% automatic exchange rebate + 20% extra rebate). When we checked on 2026-10-22, the latest HODLer Airdrop was the 66th project, OpenGradient (OPG, announced 2026-06-30), and the latest Launchpool was the 72nd, Opinion (OPN, announced 2026-03-02).
This guide follows Binance's help center pages on HODLer Airdrops, Launchpool and Megadrop and the two latest announcements: who can take part, how rewards are calculated and which regions are excluded. Then we work out what 10 BNB would get, and whether to keep BNB in Earn or in Spot so you don't lose the BNB fee discount.
Key points
- HODLer Airdrops: BNB in Simple Earn Flexible, Locked or On-Chain Yields takes part automatically; balances are snapshotted several times an hour and averaged over a period Binance picks afterwards; tokens reach your Spot account within hours of the announcement.
- Launchpool: lock during the farming period, rewards are calculated hourly and claimable any time; BNB in Simple Earn counts toward the BNB pool automatically.
- Minimums: eligible assets must exceed 0.01 BNB at each snapshot; you need KYC and must not live in an excluded region.
- Caps: the OPG HODLer Airdrop counted any one user's share at no more than 4%; the OPN Launchpool BNB pool capped each user at 33,333 OPN per hour.
- What doesn't count: BNB used as collateral for Binance Loans (Flexible Rate) is excluded from both HODLer Airdrops and Launchpool.
- Rebate: Earn, locking and airdrops carry no trading fee; selling the airdropped tokens on spot does, and that fee earns the rebate.
HODLer Airdrops, Launchpool and Megadrop compared
| Program | What you do | How it's calculated | How it's paid |
|---|---|---|---|
| HODLer Airdrops | Subscribe BNB to Simple Earn Flexible, Locked or On-Chain Yields | Your share of the hourly average balance over a past period chosen afterwards | Sent straight to your Spot account after the announcement |
| Launchpool | Lock BNB or listed tokens during farming; BNB in Simple Earn joins automatically | Hourly: your locked amount ÷ pool total × daily rewards ÷ 24 | Accrues hourly, claim to Spot any time; moved over automatically at the end |
| Megadrop | Subscribe BNB to Locked products, optionally complete Web3 quests | Total score = locked BNB score × Web3 quest multiplier + quest bonus | Paid to Spot by share of score after the event |

Binance says BNB in Simple Earn qualifies for HODLer Airdrops, Launchpool and Megadrop at once, and BNB in On-Chain Yields for HODLer Airdrops and Launchpool; it still counts toward VIP benefits too. The same BNB in Simple Earn Flexible takes part in HODLer Airdrops and Launchpool together, so you don't have to pick one.
How HODLer Airdrops are calculated: the OPG round
The official rules and the OPG announcement of 2026-06-30:
- Snapshots: your balance and the pool total are snapshotted several times an hour at random moments and averaged per hour. Binance uses a randomly chosen historical period after the announcement; for OPG it was 2026-06-22 00:00 to 2026-06-24 23:59 (UTC).
- Payout: the announcement estimated distribution to eligible Spot accounts within 5 hours.
- Amounts: OPG has a total supply of 1 billion; HODLer Airdrops got 6.4 million, and circulating supply at listing was 190 million (19%).
- Per-user cap: your average BNB ÷ total average BNB counts at most as 4%; anything above is treated as 4%.
- Minimum: at any snapshot your eligible assets must exceed 0.01 BNB to be included.
- Also counted: slisBNB and slisBNBx held in Binance Wallet (Keyless).
HODLer Airdrops are retroactive: by the time the announcement is out the snapshot period is over, so subscribing after you see it is too late. Taking part simply means keeping BNB in Earn as a habit.
How Launchpool is calculated: the OPN round
OPN, announced on 2026-03-02, was Launchpool's 72nd project, with farming from 2026-03-03 00:00 to 2026-03-04 23:59 (UTC), two days in all:
| Pool | Total rewards | Daily rewards | Hourly cap per user |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lock BNB | 16,000,000 OPN (80%) | 8,000,000 OPN | 33,333 OPN |
| Lock USDC | 2,000,000 OPN (10%) | 1,000,000 OPN | 4,166 OPN |
| Lock U | 1,000,000 OPN (5%) | 500,000 OPN | 2,083 OPN |
| Lock USD1 | 1,000,000 OPN (5%) | 500,000 OPN | 2,083 OPN |

Rules from the official FAQ:
- Hourly reward = (your locked amount ÷ total locked in the pool) × (daily rewards ÷ 24); if that comes to less than 0.01 tokens an hour, you may receive nothing.
- Minimum lock is 0.01 tokens, and you can unlock at any time with no delay.
- The same tokens can sit in only one pool at a time, though you can split them, say half in each.
- Several projects at once: Simple Earn and DeFi BNB are split evenly across projects by default; you can change the split under [BNB Allocation] on the Launchpool page.
- At the end: locked tokens and unclaimed rewards move back to Spot automatically, within 90 minutes of the end per the FAQ.
- During redemption: Locked products and On-Chain Yields keep counting while being redeemed; DeFi BNB does not.
Megadrop: where it stands
Megadrop's total score is locked BNB score × Web3 quest multiplier + quest bonus; if you don't finish all the required quests, the multiplier is 1. More BNB and longer lock periods score higher, and scores update daily at about 04:00 UTC. The FAQ says BNB Locked products used for Megadrop have no fast redemption and go through the normal 48 to 72 hours. Looking through Binance's listing announcements since 2025-11 on 2026-10-22, we found no new Megadrop project; recent new tokens have come through HODLer Airdrops and Launchpool.
Worked example: what does 10 BNB get?
HODLer Airdrop announcements don't publish the total average BNB, while the Launchpool page shows the pool total live. Below we assume 15 million eligible BNB in total purely to show the formula. It is not the real figure for any round.
| Case | Calculation | Result |
|---|---|---|
| OPG HODLer Airdrop, holding 10 BNB | 10 ÷ 15,000,000 × 6,400,000 | about 4.27 OPG |
| OPN Launchpool BNB pool, per hour | 10 ÷ 15,000,000 × 8,000,000 ÷ 24 | about 0.222 OPN |
| OPN Launchpool BNB pool, two days | 0.222 × 48 hours | about 10.67 OPN |
| Whale with 6% of the HODLer pool | capped at 4%: 4% × 6,400,000 | 256,000 OPG |
The OPN BNB pool paid out about 333,333 OPN an hour and capped each user at 33,333, so no one user could take more than 10% of an hour's rewards. Ordinary holdings never get near that cap.
What an airdrop is worth depends on the price after listing, which swings a lot, and moves in BNB itself usually matter far more to you than the airdrop does.
BNB in Earn or in Spot? Don't lose the fee discount
Binance says that to pay fees with BNB (up to 25% off spot and margin fees, up to 10% off futures), you must have BNB in your Spot account and turn on [Using BNB Deduction]. Put all your BNB into Earn and you still get HODLer Airdrops and Launchpool, but your fees go back to full price.
If you trade, keep enough BNB in Spot to cover fees for a while with the discount on, and put the rest in Simple Earn Flexible so you get both the airdrops and the discount. Binance's own example: a regular user buying 10 ETH at 3,452.55 USDT pays 0.01 ETH in fees, or BNB worth 0.0075 ETH with the discount. For how the BNB discount and the rebate stack at different monthly volumes, see Binance fee calculator: BNB discount and rebate stacking; for VIP tiers and BNB, see Binance VIP fee tiers.
A sensible order
Set up the rebate at sign-up
register with Fee Otter's referral code FEEOTTER; within 30 days of sign-up and before your first deposit or trade, you can still add it.Finish KYC and check your region
HODLer Airdrops and Launchpool both require KYC and exclude some countries (see the next section).Keep some BNB in Spot
turn on BNB fee deduction.Put the rest in Simple Earn
search BNB under [Earn] and subscribe to Flexible or Locked, which enters you into HODLer Airdrops and Launchpool; don't pledge it as Flexible Rate loan collateral.Watch the announcements
HODLer Airdrops arrive on their own; claim Launchpool rewards any time or let them move over at the end.Sell on spot
once the token lists, selling it on the spot market is the trade whose fee earns the rebate.
Excluded regions
The OPG HODLer Airdrop announcement says residents of these countries and regions can't take part through BNB Simple Earn or On-Chain Yields: Australia, Canada, Cuba, the Crimea region, Cyprus, Hong Kong, Iran, Japan, New Zealand, the Netherlands, North Korea, Russia, the United Kingdom, the United States and its territories, and non-government controlled areas of Ukraine.
The Launchpool FAQ and the OPN announcement list Canada, Cuba, the Crimea region, Iran, Japan, the Netherlands, North Korea, the United States and its territories, and non-government controlled areas of Ukraine. Both lists say they are not exhaustive and may change, so check each round's announcement. For Binance's licensing by country, see exchange licenses compared.
How this relates to the fee rebate
Binance affiliate commission comes from referred users' spot, margin and futures fees (see the Binance Affiliate Program Starter Guide, checked 2026-10-22). Applied to these programs:
- Subscribing to Earn, locking in Launchpool, receiving airdrops: no trading fee, so no rebate.
- Selling airdropped tokens on spot: an ordinary spot trade with a spot fee (0.10% for regular users, 0.075% with the BNB discount, per Binance's fee schedule, checked 2026-10-22), so it earns the rebate.
- Buying BNB: buying BNB on the spot market is a spot trade too, and earns the rebate.
Example: sell 1,000 USDT of airdropped tokens on spot with the BNB discount on and the fee is 0.75 USDT; Fee Otter's 40% returns 0.30 USDT. One sale is small. What adds up is your monthly spot and futures trading. Airdrops don't add to your rebate; the rebate depends only on trading fees.
Register with Fee Otter's referral code FEEOTTER and the Binance rebate is 40% (20% automatic exchange rebate + 20% extra rebate). Binance pays the 20% straight into your account, and Fee Otter settles the other 20% daily and pays it out on request as on-chain USDT on BEP20, minimum 1 USDT per request, with the 0.015 USDT network fee paid by you. The rebate covers trading fees only, not funding or liquidations. Rate details are in the Binance fee rebate guide; if you've already registered and the window to add a code has passed, follow the Binance rebind guide.
Risks
- BNB price: you need to hold BNB to take part, and a fall in BNB usually costs far more than the airdrops are worth.
- Airdropped token price: new tokens swing hard after listing; the OPN announcement states that the Seed Tag would be applied to OPN at listing.
- Earn's own risks: Flexible has daily redemption limits and early redemption from Locked claws back rewards already paid; see the Binance Earn guide, and for platform risk, Binance proof of reserves.
- Rules change each round: snapshot periods, caps, lockable tokens and excluded regions are whatever that round's announcement says.
Binance's HODLer Airdrops page says airdrops are sent straight to your Spot account with nothing to claim. Any website or private message that asks you to connect a wallet, enter a seed phrase or pay a fee to "claim your HODLer Airdrop" is a scam.
Binance's announcements, including these two, carry the same note: the products and services mentioned may not be available in your region. Check that you don't live in an excluded region before taking part. The announcements also say Binance can disqualify users and revoke rewards for dishonest or abusive participation, such as bulk-registering accounts from the same IP or device.
