Binance Alpha Points Explained 2026: Scoring, 15-Day Window, Cost

Binance Alpha Points from the official FAQ: 1-4 balance points, volume points per doubling, 15-day expiry, two-phase airdrops, and what 15 days of points cost.

Binance Alpha Points are added up daily from two parts: balance points of 1 to 4 per day based on your holdings (thresholds at 100, 1,000, 10,000 and 100,000 USD), and volume points for the Alpha tokens you buy that day, 1 point for 2 USD and 1 more point each time the amount doubles. Your score is the sum of the last 15 days, and points are spent when you join an airdrop or TGE. Alpha instant orders only charge on-chain gas and limit orders charge 0.01% to 0.15%; Binance's affiliate documentation lists spot, margin and futures fees and does not mention Alpha, so the Fee Otter 40% rebate (20% automatic exchange rebate + 20% extra rebate) lowers what you pay on Binance spot and futures (checked 2026-10-22).

This guide follows Binance's help center article "Frequently Asked Questions on Binance Alpha Points": how points are scored, how the 15-day window works and which trades don't count. Then we work through a question people ask a lot: roughly what 15 days of points cost, and how much a rebate helps. Rules are as of 2026-10-22. Binance can change them at any time, so check the Alpha Events page in the app before you take part.

Key points

  • Daily points = balance points + volume points, with the snapshot at 23:59:59 UTC each day (07:59:59 the next morning in UTC+8).
  • Rolling 15 days: each day's points expire exactly 15 days after the snapshot date; points you spend show up the next day.
  • Buys only: selling neither adds nor removes points; you must pay with a token listed on Binance spot; Alpha-to-Alpha pairs stopped counting on 2025-06-17.
  • Zero balance points: since 2025-10-22, volume and task points don't accumulate until your balance reaches at least 100 USD.
  • Master accounts only: sub-account balances are merged into the master account, and splitting funds across accounts to farm points is not allowed.
  • Rebate: the official documents don't say whether Alpha trades earn affiliate commission; the 40% rebate does apply to spot and futures fees.

What Binance Alpha is and where you trade it

Binance launched Binance Alpha on 2024-12-17 to showcase tokens from early-stage projects. Binance says some Alpha tokens "may be considered" for a Binance spot listing, with no guarantee, and that featuring a token is not an endorsement. There are two ways in:

  • Binance Alpha (inside Binance Wallet): you trade from Binance's keyless wallet.
  • Binance Alpha 2.0 (inside the exchange): the [Alpha] tab under [Markets] in the app, paid from your Spot and Funding accounts with no separate wallet. Binance says Alpha 2.0 is still in BETA and only open to users in a few countries.

Both list the same tokens and both earn points. The FAQ adds one warning: trading volume from a wallet that has been imported or exported does not count, and a re-imported wallet is no longer treated as keyless.

How Alpha Points are scored, in two tables

Balance points (1 to 4 per day)

Balance points look at the total value of eligible assets on the Binance exchange and in Binance Wallet. On the exchange that means every spot-listed token, tokens in your Alpha account and RWUSD, and unrealized futures PnL at snapshot time counts too. In the wallet it covers Alpha tokens, spot-listed tokens, DeFi assets such as slisBNB, and PancakeSwap LP tokens where one side is an Alpha token and the other a spot-listed token.

Eligible assetsBalance points per dayOver 15 days
100 to under 1,000 USD115
1,000 to under 10,000 USD230
10,000 to under 100,000 USD345
100,000 USD and above460

Source: Frequently Asked Questions on Binance Alpha Points, checked 2026-10-22.

Binance's example: 4,000 USD in Spot, 3,000 USD in the wallet and 5,000 USD of LP tokens in the Alpha Earn Hub make 12,000 USD, so 3 points a day. Balance points stop at 4 a day however much you hold, so the gap between users comes mostly from volume points.

Volume points (1 more point each time the amount doubles)

Volume points count only what you buy in Alpha tokens that day, valued in USD at the time of the trade. Binance's steps are below, and each further doubling adds 1 point:

Bought that dayVolume points
2 USD1
8 USD3
32 USD5
128 USD7
1,024 USD10
4,096 USD12
8,192 USD13
16,384 USD14

The FAQ doesn't say how amounts between two steps are scored, so our examples use exact doublings. A few more rules:

  • Payment token: you must pay with a token already listed on Binance spot; anything else doesn't count.
  • Boosted tokens: the Alpha page in the app has a "Points+" tab, and tokens marked x2 or x4 count your volume two or four times. Which tokens are boosted changes, so go by what the page shows.
  • Buy 600, sell 500: Binance says you still get points for the full 600 USD, because it tracks purchases, not holdings.
  • After a spot listing: once an Alpha token lists on Binance spot, later Alpha trades in it no longer count toward volume.

The 15-day window and spending: when your score drops

The number you see is the total of your daily points over the past 15 days minus what you spent in that time. Binance's example: you earn 10 points a day for 10 days and nothing for 5, so on day 15 you have 100. You spend 5 points that day and still see 100; the next day the first day's 10 points expire and the 5 you spent are deducted, leaving 85.

Spending is optional, but the points go the moment you confirm, and they don't come back. Decide whether you want the token before you press confirm.

Since 2025-06-19 Alpha airdrops run in two phases. Users at or above threshold X can claim first for a limited time; then the threshold drops to Y (lower than X) and anyone at or above Y can claim, first come first served, until the pool runs out or the event ends. Each user can claim once per airdrop, and eligibility is based on your points when the event starts; changes during the event don't matter.

How to check your points and join an airdrop

  1. Find the page

search "Alpha events" on the Binance app home screen, or tap your profile icon at the top left, then [More Services] and search there. You can pin it as a home shortcut.
  2. Check points and threshold

the event page shows your current points, this event's threshold and how many points a claim costs.
  3. Confirm

the points are spent when you confirm, and your total reflects it the next day.
  4. Wait for the tokens

Binance says airdrops reach your Binance Wallet address within 1 to 2 days of taking part.

What's the threshold? Binance doesn't fix one

Thresholds, point costs and timing for each airdrop or TGE are announced separately for each event and on the Alpha Events page; the FAQ gives no fixed number. Thresholds you see quoted online usually come from one event and differ from the next. In the example below we assume a target of 210 points over 15 days purely to work out cost. It is not the threshold of any actual event.

Worked example: what do 15 days of points cost?

Say you keep 5,000 USD of spot-listed tokens in Spot (2 balance points a day) and want 210 points over 15 days. That is 14 points a day, so you need 12 volume points, which means buying 4,096 USD of Alpha tokens every day.

Only buys score, but you'll usually sell what you bought, so we count a same-day round trip. Alpha limit order fees run from 0.01% to 0.15% depending on the network, charged on both the buy and the sell:

CaseActually bought per dayRound-trip fees per dayFees over 15 days
Regular token, 0.01% fee4,096 USDabout 0.82 USDabout 12.3 USD
Regular token, 0.15% fee4,096 USDabout 12.29 USDabout 184.3 USD
x2 token, 0.15% fee2,048 USDabout 6.14 USDabout 92.2 USD
x4 token, 0.15% fee1,024 USDabout 3.07 USDabout 46.1 USD

The table covers limit order fees only. It leaves out the bid-ask spread, slippage and price moves while you hold. Binance itself notes that with thin liquidity a large order moves the price, so the tokens you receive can be worth less than the stablecoins you paid. Instant orders only charge on-chain gas, per Binance, but the fill price comes from an on-chain quote, so the spread is still a cost.

Volume points go up by 1 only when the amount doubles, so every extra point doubles what you have to buy each day. Going from 12 to 13 points a day means buying 8,192 USD instead of 4,096 USD, and the fees double with it. To keep costs down, use x2 and x4 tokens before you push daily volume higher.

With a rebate and without one

Binance's affiliate documentation says commission comes from referred users' spot, margin and futures trading fees (see the Binance Affiliate Program Starter Guide, checked 2026-10-22). It doesn't mention Alpha trades, so we leave the rebate out of the table above. Whether Alpha limit order fees show up in your rebate records is something to check in your own rebate statement.

Where the rebate helps is the spot and futures trading around the points: buying the spot tokens that earn balance points, selling an Alpha token on Binance spot after it lists, and your usual futures trades. Take 20,000 USDT of spot volume a month as a regular user (fees from Binance's fee schedule, checked 2026-10-22):

CaseMonthly feesRebateYou payEffective rate
Standard 0.10%20 USDT020 USDT0.100%
BNB discount 0.075%15 USDT015 USDT0.075%
BNB discount + Fee Otter 40%15 USDT6 USDT9 USDT0.045%

The rebate is calculated on the fee after the BNB discount. For how the two stack and full tables at different monthly volumes, see Binance fee calculator: BNB discount and rebate stacking.

Risks, in Binance's own words

Binance's disclaimers on its Alpha pages say Alpha tokens generally have a low market cap and volatile prices, and you may lose part or all of what you put in; buying Alpha assets exposes you to slippage and blockchain fees; and featuring a token on Alpha does not mean it will list on the Binance exchange. Binance also reserves the right to change how points are calculated and who is eligible at any time, and its calculation is final.
  • Rule changes: since 2025 Binance has changed the scoring several times (payment token limits, no points for Alpha-to-Alpha pairs, nothing accrues at zero balance). A method that worked last month can stop counting.
  • Airdrop value: airdrops are paid in tokens, and the price when you receive them can be very different from the price when you sell. Spent points are not refunded.
  • Withdrawals: Alpha tokens can't be sent to a Binance spot deposit address and are lost if you try; you can only withdraw them to Binance Wallet or another external wallet.
A common scam is the "we'll farm your Alpha Points" or "guaranteed airdrop" offer: they ask for your login, API keys or wallet seed phrase, or for an upfront "fee". Don't use any service that wants control of your account. Claim airdrops only from the Alpha Events page inside the Binance app.

Binance services differ by region and Alpha 2.0 is only open in some countries, so check whether it's available where you live. For licensing by country, see exchange licenses compared.

Set up the rebate first

Before you start farming Alpha Points, make sure your Binance account has a rebate set up: spot and futures fees are what you actually pay over time. Register with Fee Otter's referral code FEEOTTER and the Binance rebate is 40% (20% automatic exchange rebate + 20% extra rebate). Binance pays the 20% straight into your account, and Fee Otter settles the other 20% daily and pays it out on request as on-chain USDT on BEP20, minimum 1 USDT per request, with the 0.015 USDT network fee paid by you. The rebate covers trading fees only, not funding or liquidations.

A Binance referral code can only be added within 30 days of sign-up and before your first deposit or trade; see Binance referral code. If that window has passed, follow the Binance rebind guide. To put BNB into Earn for HODLer Airdrops and Launchpool, see Binance HODLer Airdrops and Launchpool guide.

FAQ

How are Binance Alpha Points calculated?

Daily balance points (1 to 4) plus volume points (1 point for 2 USD bought that day, plus 1 for each doubling), summed over the last 15 days. The snapshot is at 23:59:59 UTC every day.

When do Alpha Points expire?

Each day's points expire exactly 15 days after the snapshot date. Points spent on an event are deducted the next day.

Does selling Alpha tokens reduce my points?

No. Volume points count purchases only, and selling doesn't affect your score.

Can I use sub-accounts to earn more points?

No. Only master accounts earn points, and sub-account balances are merged into the master account.

How many points does an Alpha airdrop need?

Each event announces its own threshold; the FAQ has no fixed number. Since 2025-06-19 airdrops run in two phases, and the second phase has a lower threshold, first come first served.

Do Alpha trades earn a fee rebate?

Binance's affiliate documentation lists spot, margin and futures fees and doesn't mention Alpha. Instant orders only charge gas, so there's no trading fee to rebate. For limit orders, check your own rebate statement.
