OKX Earn Guide 2026: Simple Earn Fee, Redemptions, Flash Earn

Register OKX with code FEEOTTER: 20% auto-rebate + exclusive rewards. Earn isn't rebated. Simple Earn fee, Fixed lock, staking exits, Dual Investment.

OKX Simple Earn Flexible shows a 3.5% APR, but you receive less because OKX takes a 15% service fee from your return. How fast you get your money back depends on the product: Flexible can be redeemed any time, Fixed cannot be redeemed once interest starts, ETH staking redemption time is set by the Ethereum network, and Dual Investment can be redeemed early but may return less than you put in (checked September 2026). These rules are spread over a dozen FAQs in the OKX Help Center. This guide turns those rules into a liquidity map. Figures are as of 2026-09-28; APRs change constantly, so check the OKX Earn page.

On rebates: Earn returns carry no trading fee, so they generate no fee rebate; rebates come only from trading. Register OKX with code FEEOTTER for a 20% auto-rebate + exclusive rewards; ask support about our exclusive OKX rewards and promotions.

OKX Earn liquidity map: how fast can you get your money back

"Not listed in the FAQ" means the OKX help pages read for this guide do not state a fee; it does not mean there is none. The subscription page prevails.

Simple Earn Flexible: the 15% service fee, worked through with official data

OKX explains that Simple Earn Flexible pools users' coins and lends them to borrowers on the platform (loan products and margin traders); borrowers' interest, after fees, is paid to you. OKX currently charges 15% of accrued returns as a service fee, part of which goes to its internal security fund; you receive the remainder. The official formula:

Hourly return = lent amount x APR / 365 / 24 x 85%

OKX's public API publishes both numbers, so you can see the 15% gap directly: in the record for 04:00 (UTC+8) on 2026-09-28, the USDT annual borrowing rate was 3.5% and the annual lending rate 2.97%, almost exactly 3.5% x 0.85. The gap between the APR on the Earn page and the rate you actually receive is that 15% service fee.

In money terms (assuming the rate never changes, for illustration only): 10,000 USDT at 3.5% earns about 10,000 x 3.5% / 365 / 24 x 85% = 0.034 USDT an hour, about 0.815 USDT a day and about 24.45 USDT over 30 days. In reality the rate is reset every hour based on borrowing demand and can fall or even drop to zero.

Timing: in the official example you subscribe at 7:30 UTC and your balance is recorded at 8:00 UTC; if you redeem between 8:00 and 9:00, the calculation uses the smaller of the 8:00 snapshot and your remaining balance; that hour's return is paid around 9:00. Redeemed amounts do not join the next lending round and earn nothing for the current hour.

Only one situation blocks redemption: when a coin's pool is fully lent out, redemptions may be temporarily limited or paused, reviewed every hour. Also, if you chose to put idle funds into Simple Earn when creating a spot grid, you must stop that grid before automatic redemption happens.

Auto Earn: no manual subscription, but there is a cooling-off period

With Auto Earn on, eligible coins in your funding account are automatically subscribed to Simple Earn Flexible. Two entry conditions apply: the Flexible market APR for USDT must be 1% or more (above 1% for other coins), and the coins must sit untouched in the funding account for 24 hours with no deposits, redemptions, purchases or rewards. You also need identity verification to receive the APY.

  • Redemption is immediate at any time, but redeemed assets only re-enter Auto Earn after a cooling-off period.
  • Turning Auto Earn off does not redeem existing Flexible holdings; you must redeem them yourself.
  • Minimum balance to earn: 0.0001 of a coin priced at 1,000 USDT or more, 0.001 for 100-1,000 USDT, 0.01 for 10-100 USDT, 0.1 for 1-10 USDT and 1 for coins under 1 USDT (prices updated daily at 16:00 UTC).

Trading bots have a similar feature: strategy accounts for spot grid, futures grid, DCA (Martingale) and signal bots can switch on auto-earn (for example USDT, USDC) and auto-stake (for example ETH, SOL), with funds staying in the strategy account to support margin; recurring buy, iceberg and TWAP strategies are not supported for now.

Simple Earn Fixed: locked the moment interest starts

Simple Earn Fixed currently centres on USDT: you lend at a fixed APR for a fixed term, and OKX's example of the yield source is lending to OKX's VIP borrowers. Process and limits:

  • Your order must first be matched with a borrowing order; interest starts only once that borrowing order is funded. Pending, unmatched amounts can be redeemed or topped up, but once interest starts the order cannot be redeemed or cancelled.
  • Early repayment by the borrower: if it happens more than 120 hours before the scheduled end, you receive all of the remaining return as compensation; within the final 120 hours, you are paid only for the actual lending time.
  • Late repayment: the term can extend by up to 14 days with hourly compensatory interest; principal and interest return to your funding account when the borrower repays, the actual date may differ from the estimate, and OKX sends an email.

The risks OKX lists in its Fixed FAQ include market volatility, exchange risk, borrower liquidation and no redemption during the term; if a borrower defaults and the collateral cannot cover the loan, you can lose principal, which OKX says it mitigates through risk controls.

Onchain Earn: BETH, OKSOL and fast redemption

ETH staking (BETH)

  • Minimum 0.001 ETH with no cap; you receive BETH 1:1. BETH trades on the spot market (BETH/USDT, BETH/ETH) and can be used as collateral for loans and margin while still earning staking rewards.
  • Rewards = (BETH held at each hourly snapshot - outflow) x APR / 365, paid to the funding account daily at 03:00 UTC. Outflow includes transfers and withdrawals to X Layer as xBETH.
  • OKX charges a 5% service fee including gas; the APR shown is already net of it.
  • Standard redemption time depends on Ethereum's exit demand at the time, is outside OKX's control and can change without notice; once submitted the period for that request is fixed, and the BETH is locked and stops earning.
  • Fast redemption: after submitting you can receive part of it each day, capped at the lower of your personal limit and a variable platform limit. Personal limits by account tier: regular users 5 BETH, VIP 1 up to 30 BETH, VIP 2 up to 50 BETH, VIP 3 and above up to 100 BETH. If there is a queue it may take time before anything arrives; whatever is left is paid in one go at the end of the standard period.

OKX's fast redemption example: redeem 600 ETH with a 10-day standard period. Submitted on day 1 into a queue; nothing on days 2-4 (you can still cancel while queued); on day 5 only 50 ETH is left in the platform limit, so you get 50; 100 ETH a day on days 6-9; and the remaining 150 ETH settles at once on day 10.

SOL staking (OKSOL)

  • OKSOL is OKX's own Solana liquid staking token, received 1:1 when staking; returns include staking yield and MEV rewards, following native Solana staking rules.
  • Two ways out: redeem 1:1 for SOL in 3-5 days, or sell OKSOL on the spot market instantly at market price. Once you request redemption, the OKSOL is locked and earns nothing from then on.

Slashing: the OKX ETH staking and OKSOL pages read for this guide do not say who bears slashing losses. For DeFi-type Onchain Earn products, OKX states it only provides project display and reward distribution, and is not responsible for losses from smart contract bugs, hacks or third-party project shutdowns.

Onchain Earn APRs are counted in coins. On 2026-09-27 OKX's public API showed about 1.92% for ETH staking and about 4.59% for SOL staking; these change daily, and if the coin's price falls you can lose money in fiat terms even though you hold more coins.

Dual Investment: how the settlement coin is decided, and why early redemption can lose money

OKX explains that Dual Investment returns come from the premium earned by selling call or put options on your behalf. The settlement price is the average BTC index price between 15:00 and 16:00 (UTC+8) on the expiry date. OKX's two examples:

  • Sell High: subscribe 10 BTC with a 58,000 USD target and a 0.2% return. Below 58,000 you get 10 x 1.002 = 10.020 BTC; at or above 58,000 you get 10 x 58,000 x 1.002 = 581,160 USDT.
  • Buy Low: subscribe 10,000 USDT with a 50,000 USD target and a 1.24% return. Above 50,000 you get 10,124 USDT; at or below 50,000 you get 10,000 / 50,000 x 1.0124 = 0.20248 BTC.

Settlement normally reaches your funding account at 16:00 (UTC+8), with delays of up to 24 hours. There is no subscription fee, and a minimum subscription applies as shown on the page.

Unlike many exchanges, OKX Dual Investment allows early redemption on every pair except BTC/ETH, from the start of interest accrual until one hour before expiry. But OKX is explicit: the early redemption amount can be less than your original subscription, because the product is not traded on public markets and its price depends on remaining term, volatility and the underlying, plus a conservative valuation adjustment for early exits. You can only redeem in the coin you subscribed with; subscribe with BTC and you get BTC back. Requests before 15:00 are credited around 16:00 the same day; after 15:00, around 16:00 the next day.

OKX classes Dual Investment as non-principal-protected with floating PnL; neither principal nor return is guaranteed, and in volatile markets the final settlement coin is hard to predict. Auto-renewal comes in Basic and Advanced versions; Basic renews at a fixed target price and stops automatically once the trade executes (bought low or sold high), sending principal and return to the funding account.

Flash Earn: airdrops calculated hourly, tiers based on assets or trading volume

Flash Earn lets you subscribe with supported assets such as OKB or BTC to receive campaign airdrop tokens, plus any applicable base yield such as Simple Earn interest. Key rules:

  • Hourly cycles: subscribe at 12:30 and you start with the 13:00-14:00 cycle. Hourly airdrop = your eligible amount in the previous hour / total eligible amount x that hour's pool.
  • Rewards arrive about an hour later and can be claimed any time; anything unclaimed at the end is sent to the funding account within four hours.
  • You can redeem at any time during the campaign, but redeemed amounts earn neither airdrop nor interest for that hour; assets not redeemed at the end roll into the matching Simple Earn Flexible product.
  • Master accounts only, institutional accounts excluded; funds are taken from funding account, then trading account, then Simple Earn Flexible.

Your Flash Earn subscription limit depends on your Flash Earn tier, updated daily by 06:00 (UTC+8) using whichever of three criteria gives the top tier:

Flash Earn tier30-day avg daily net assetsor 30-day spot volumeor 30-day futures volume
Tier 1Under 100,000 USDUnder 1 million USDUnder 5 million USD
Tier 2100,000 USD or more1 million USD or more5 million USD or more
Tier 3200,000 USD or more5 million USD or more10 million USD or more
Tier 42 million USD or more10 million USD or more50 million USD or more

Flash Earn no longer uses your OKX VIP level for limits; it uses the table above. The estimated APR on the page is "previous hour airdrop APR plus base yield APR", which OKX says is for reference only and not guaranteed.

VIP-only products: BTC Yield+ and OTC Structured Products

  • BTC Yield+: open only to VIP 1-8 users. OKX gives a historical backtested annual yield of 1%-3%, noting it is for reference only with no guarantee of future returns, and daily yield may be zero in extreme markets. Up to 10 BTC a day can be redeemed instantly (subject to personal and real-time platform limits); the rest goes through regular redemption in about 1-2 calendar days, up to 7, earning nothing meanwhile. Yield is paid in BTC daily around 16:00 (UTC+8). If you drop back to a regular user, existing subscriptions are unaffected but you cannot subscribe again.
  • OTC Structured Products: VIP clients only, minimum 100,000 USDT or 1.5 BTC; phase one offers two Fixed Coupon Products.

If you are already a VIP on another exchange or trade in size, contact Fee Otter support: we can help you apply for special trading perks and exclusive rewards, with the final benefit decided by the exchange.

Risks: where OKX states them, and how

  • The official Simple Earn Flexible introduction says plainly: Simple Earn is not a principal-protected product.
  • Fixed: if a borrower defaults and collateral is insufficient, you can lose principal.
  • Dual Investment: non-principal-protected, floating PnL, uncertain settlement coin.
  • Flash Earn: classed as low risk, but OKX says this is not a guarantee of principal or returns.
  • DeFi-type Onchain Earn: OKX is not responsible for losses caused by third-party protocols.

Keeping assets on an exchange also means taking the exchange's own platform risk. How to verify OKX's reserves yourself and which assets are covered is in OKX proof of reserves.

Exchanges' own Earn products all state that returns are not guaranteed, so treat any "fixed high yield, steady payout" offer with suspicion.

For OKX's licensing and registration status in different countries, see exchange licences compared.

Earn returns are not rebated: rebates depend only on trading fees

The OKX affiliate program rules state that affiliate commission is a return of the trading fees invitees pay, covering spot, futures, options and CeDeFi trading (see OKX affiliate program rules). Applied to Earn:

  • Simple Earn, Onchain Earn and Flash Earn returns: not trading fees, so no rebate.
  • Dual Investment: no subscription fee, so no rebate either.
  • Selling BETH or OKSOL on the spot market: a spot trade with spot fees, which are rebated.

On OKX, the savings come from trading fees, not from Earn. An OKX referral code can only be entered at first registration and cannot be added afterwards, so use code FEEOTTER (already built into our referral link) at sign-up: a 20% auto-rebate + exclusive rewards; ask support about our exclusive OKX rewards and promotions. Fee and rebate details are in the OKX fee rebate guide; if you already have an account, see the OKX rebind guide.

FAQ

Why is my OKX Simple Earn return lower than the APR shown?

OKX takes 15% of the return as a service fee and you receive the rest. API data on 2026-09-28: USDT borrowing rate 3.5%, lending rate 2.97%.

Can OKX Simple Earn Fixed be redeemed early?

Only the pending portion that has not started earning. Once interest starts it cannot be redeemed or cancelled until the borrower repays.

Does early redemption of OKX Dual Investment lose money?

It can. The amount may be below your principal and you only get back the coin you subscribed with; the BTC/ETH pair does not support early redemption.

How long does ETH staking redemption take?

Standard redemption depends on Ethereum's exit demand; fast redemption returns part each day, with a 5 BETH daily personal limit for regular users, or you can sell BETH on the spot market.

Does OKX Earn generate fee rebates?

No. Rebates come only from spot, futures, options and other trading fees; Earn returns and Dual Investment do not generate rebates.

Why is Auto Earn on but nothing is earning?

Funds must sit idle in the funding account for 24 hours, the market APR must meet the threshold, the balance must meet the minimum and identity verification must be complete; recently redeemed assets wait out a cooling-off period.
